Altdorf - Age of Uprising - Western district.
It had been a long time since Albrecht had been in Altdorf and he could not place either names or faces.
He did realize that Osric was familiar with both of the present persons, of course, his demeanour indicated as much.
The regalia displayed on the Shallyan priestess made it clear, however, that this was a High Priestess of the Cult. Coming to think on it, Albrecht realized had no idea where the Main Temple of the Shallyan Cult was placed.
The man had the tell-tale shaved head of a Sigmarite, but otherwise was hard to place as concerned clerical hierarchy. That he held a place of obvious authority in the Sigmarite Cult's Main Temple spoke volumes about his importance though.
As such, he made the necessary protestations of his obedience, humble bowing mostly, and adopted a demure stance and facial expression.

OOC:
I don't thin k I was ever involved in any talks with the Shallyans. I remember Regina putting Magda Brech into the custody... well, make that care instead... of the Shallyans but don't think I ever met Alisa Marnard-

Osric untied the wrapped package from his back. Once the oiled cloth was removed, it produced a large warhammer.

"Father Schaefer, I bring back the hammer of Brother Reichmann. He sits at Sigmar side now. He was tracking a chaos worshipping cult and we all met up in the catacombs of Helmgart. There we stood side by side."
Osric spread his arms, indicating the we also included Albrecht and Larissa.

"We slain the leader, the alchemist and the Chaos Dragon they had summoned. Yet Helmgart is fallen. I ensured that it is being sanitised by the Brothers of Morr. The other details I will write down in my report and discuss them with you before the ener the Archives."

Osric did no felt inclined to tell how Riechmann lost the righteous path and fell in love with a forsaken Magister of the Bright Order. That and the other details were not ment to be for the Shallyan sisters.

He looked at Alisa. "I'm sorry to inform you Mother that the Great Hospice at Shallya is also fallen by the same cult. A Chaos Troll rampaged the grounds. We also met a Necromancer in the compound. Herr Zweifler tried to track him down when he fled, but he great tracking skills were hampered by who know what kind of foul magic. At the end we could save only one sister and one patient. We left them in the care of the the Eberhardt family."

Albrecht's corners of his mouth lifted up ever so slightly at the praise of the long time companion which he found unwarranted. He had quite simply failed to track the necromancer after his flight from the hospice and - always bitter and harsher to himself - doubted there had been any magic involved. He was far from the tracker Osric claimed him to be and admittedly it was quite a shame.
Nevertheless he was thankful for the image Osric painted of him. It always paid to appear competent in the eyes of the powerful. Quite unlike as it concerned opponents. There it was much better if they underestimated you. Which was one of the reasons he tried to hide the gleaming breastplate beheath his bulky mantle. But try as he might, even outright neglect, the breastplate always shone like freshly cleaned and oiled. A fact one kight appreciate, cherish even, if on a parade but most certainly not while trying to hide in the woods to stage an ambush on a band of beastmen.
Maybe he ought to retrieve his old tabbard, but he doubted it would fit anymore.
He would need to purchase some cloth to hide it, black being the preferred colour.

Schaefer shrugged and muttered a silent "Rest in peace brother..."
He sighed audible and leaned on the table.
"You have done well brother..heck, you all have. I wish I could offer your more of a gratitude however.."
He eyed the priestess, and extended his hands, taking the hammer.

As they continued, both Schaeffer and Alisa froze and eyed them.
"So the rumors were true....this is worse than we first expected."
Alisa rose and looked distraught.
"You have likely seen the sick and disabled walking the streets...the reason for this is simple...the temple of the dove here was burned to the ground by a group of still at large hoodlums...Shallaya has lost it's place..and while we can rebuild, times are rough, and we have to extend our hand to Sigmar again to find footing."

Schaeffer nodded.
"By the word of the Arch-lector, we bring on the honor of grating the dove a place. However times are less than ideal."

He eyed you lot.
"Let me be blunt. We are realing here and need your aid. All men and women are assigned but you Brother, and your companions if they so willing will take an assignment more in the name of Sigmar - for coin naturally."

He nodded in hope, and continued.
Frankly, my hope is twofold. Firstly, and this is recent news to us, is that we have a small lead - the group who burned them down, headed by a likely unlicensed wizard, ..Worse yet, a knight of the inner circle is currently being appointed to none less than Senior Witchhunter Roderick, whom as some of you you may recall, is a zealot at best, and a terror at worst...I do not trust him nor his mentors on this, as they forcefully selected a man - I feel something is off, so I would insist you tag on to whatever he insists. I have made arrangements for this as well brother.
Don't stand out, just follow his lead and make notes of what he is upto. Anything sticks out, you let me know."

He stopped, and Alisa still sat partially frozen, uncertain about it all. She seemed distraught and at least to Osric stood in clear compassion to Anna.
A connection? Why the temples of the Dove? What did the witchhunter wanted? Why did he concern Schaeffer to begin with? Where did the Wizard head of to? Did Roderick know?

- "On that note..."

Larissa reached into her pack, and held up the still packaged bell.

- "...There was an enchantment on this bell we found in Helmgart. I've managed to isolate it, but it still reeks of death magic. I would have this studied to find if the group responsible for the burnings here is connected to the one in Helmgart -- to whom would i speak about this?"

Altdorf - Age of Uprising - Western district.
Albrecht's jaw dropped open at the news.
Religious strife was nothing utterly unexpected, of course, not ever since the Ar-Ulric of Middenheim had seized control of the city and was busy spreading his influence all over Middenland. But the fact that the Temple of Shallya should be burned down was unthinkable. Shallya was a benevolent goddess, there was no purpose he could think of that would warrant a wish to do the sisters any harm. Their healing skills were for the better of everyone. Depriving the city, the whole Empire even, of their capability to do good and heal injuries, wounds and diseases and tend the sick and poor made... Albrecht stopped his thoughts in shock... perfect sense.

Albrecht had become disillusioned about the role of the churches in the Empire a long time ago it seemed.
Having become friends with many rustic people who live at the edge of the great and safe cities Albrecht’s resentment had grown steadily, a feeling that these people were being let down by the Emperor and his establishments and institutions.
Even the great churches did not seem to care either. And so Albrecht had decided to take matter in his own hands, helping the common people wherever he can. Not because he was supposed to do so due to his chosen profession but because of personal conviction.
Not so, however, with the sisters of Shallya.
Their oath to help where ever they were needed, their conviction to do so not because of religious doctrines but because it was the very base of their personalities, had always received his highest respect. He could not even count how many times he had sought, and received, the help of a Shallyan sister. Not only for himself, but for his friends, too.

"There can be no sensible reason to damage the Shallyan faith unless the purpose is to deprive the city of the sisters' healing skills. The least might be to initiate civil unrest by the poor as they can no longer be cared for by the Shallyans because of lack of facilities. But I fear there's a lot more to this. Disease will be the highest threat to any city."
Albrecht clenched his jaw.
"Naturally, I am at your service.", he declared.

Despite the vehement support he thought.
But before we talk monetary recompense, how about paying for the last quest ?

Suddenly a large pouch was placed before Larissa and Albrecht.
"Sigmar provides...we are in the clear now."
He eyed Larissa and nodded, as she had made herself worthy of a sum also.
Brother Osric had the benefits of his rank to pull on.
He knew that he could equip himself from the storageroom that belonged to the Temple and that the quartermaster would aid him in any need he had, making any coin useless for the Priest.

He eyed Larissa and rubbed his chin.
"If you know what wind roars within, I would advise seeking those out. That said, delivering it to the head of the university would also aid you further. I would advise against carrying that thing, especially around a Senior withhunter.."

It seems that the sisters of the bleeding heart have a tendency to cross my pass over and over again. Osric grumpily thought. But he was in servant of Lord Sigmar and as such, he would follow his orders, putting aside his personal issues.

"By your command." Osric acknowledge Father SChaefer's request formal. He could not put enthusiasm in his answer.

He did not held the sisters in high regards, but they did take care of the less fortunate. But when push came to shove, they have proven him time after time to be inadequate. Nonetheless, seeing The Priestess Alisa broken triggered the memory of Anna. He once was at the pit of despair himself, many years ago. Compassion for the suffering of Alisa as a person, not as a priestess softened his tone.

"When do we leave?" he added, clearly on a lesser stern tone.

"Father, by your blessing, might I escort Frauline Ichnatief to the College of Hyst?". With all the turmoil outside, it would be dangerous to walk alone. Pickpockets and thieves would make use of the misery of others. And he feared that if the Ice Maiden would be provoked to used her magic, a public lynching would be inevitable.

His discussion about the visions he in had Helmgart would have to wait.

ooc - Yes I know I misspelled Larissa's name, Osric has just some problems pronouncing it correctly :)

"You can count on me.", he said to no one particular, obviously refering to all of them.

Larissa took the pouch, but did not counti its contents. trust went a long way, and she was unaware of how much was supposed to be in it in the first place, so counting would be meaningless to begin with.

- "A sound plan. This would mark my first visit to Altdorf and i am still unfamiliar with the layout."

She put the bell back, taking a deep breath.

- "I share your feelings on the bell, though being the only magically inclined in our group meant that it was safest were i to carry it. That said, i would be looking forward to relieving myself of it into the hands of one more capable than i."

"Just to be clear on this."
"Senior Witchunter Roderick is the representative of the Sigmar Church to investigate the matter of the torching of the Temple of Shallya."
"And a Knight of the Inner Circle has been assigned to this witch hunter to help in the investigation ? Which Order does this Knight belong to ? And what is his name ?"
"As for the suspect group. I take it Lord Roderick already knows of that information ?"
, he paused, not quite sure how to put it.
"I take it you do not have... complete... trust... in Lord Roderick ? Are we to assume then, that we should not exactly do so either ? That we should turn to you instead to report anything we may find out rather than the Senior Witch Hunter ?"

He nodded at Albrecht.
"The knight in question is Elric von Morgenstein. He is a Knights Griffon Templar, and was selected under curious circumstances. His superior in this case is not someone I could get insight on.
As for his task, he is officially to chase down that wizard yes, but I fear there is more at hand - and that he may want to dive into what he refers to as a new Valten of Sigmar incident. That concerns me, along with his disinterest in sharing anything obvious with us. So yes, Report to Osric, whom will gather and report to me. If he asks, state only the obvious and be helpful but do not share anything delicate."

He hands Albrecht a writ.
"Considering the length and effort you have served under Sigmar, consider yourself licensed under the reigns of this church. Should you wish to serve or work within, you have my blessing to do so.."
He eyes you all.
"Anything else?"

The Larissa follows aside Osric with gadget they found; they both reach the university a short walk later, reminding themselves of the smell and crowds of injured and sick roaming the streets present day.
You are welcomed inside, under surprisingly cautious eyes and with more guards than what you are normally accustomed to see - the recent events having had an impact on this place.
An aging man of stature welcomes you curiously, and ask for you to state your business.

"Greetings Magistar. As time is not on our side, I shall keep it short. I recently returned from Helmgart, which has fallen due to a chaos cult trying to summon an undead dragon back into this realm. In the town near to it, we found this device strapped into the bell tower. The winds of Shyish strongly interwoven in it. The Maiden of Ice Ignatjef secured the device and we brought it here so you can either study or destroy it. For it should not fall into the wrong hands. And Maiden Ignatjef also has a request for the Magistars of the Realm of Sigmar."

Osric knew that his presence would make the magistars uncomfortable, so he kept it short, answering questions if asked but he would go waiting outside should Larissa and the Magistar went into a discussion about magic.

At Osric's mention, Larissa presented the bell, though still within its wrapping so as to prevent accidentally ringing it. Her wards were still holding last time she had checked them, prior to them entering Altdorf -- she had heeded the warnings she had been given and not attempted to cast spells in the middle of town. When Osric had finished, she waited, seeing if this was the one she should be speaking to or if she would be forwarded to another.

Larissa nodded in response. She felt it was better to have the magister report to Osric about this, as an outsider she carried little authority here, far fewer than he had in any case.

- "Indeed. When the bell rung... Suffice to say we made our way out of that room with all due haste. I brought it to you to both prevent accidental activation, and to inquire whether this particular style of casting has been used on other occasions. It is possible that the one who had placed the spell still lives."

She paused for a moment, wondering if she should discuss the Ice Vein the Herzblut's masters had been trying to corrupt, but decided against it. Instead, she opted for a less direct approach.

- "Helmgart Keep semi-collapsed in the battle, and i hear the location is to be cleared of potential taint. Pardon me asking, but what is to happen to it afterward?"

The man nodded humbly, but curiously.
He tilted his head.
"I see..quite a tale. And naturally brother, it shall find it's way to you in due time. As for this...it may affect how it is done. Helmgart is to be cleansed, by seeking and unveiling all magical resonance, and then, once it is done, the lords and rulers are left with the choice - to rebuild or burn and lay fields where it once stood. I can not answer this for you."
It was a hard but honest answer. Those who ruled, had the coin and power to choose. If the salvage took too long or was to hard...who knew?
The man turned, and bowed, having exhausted his words on the matter.

All magical resonance? That was something that could be a problem. It was one thing to aid the Southerners in finding an untainted source, but quite another for them to feel around in the dark with their tainted magics and end up doing the damage to it that they had all fought to prevent.

- "And whom rules Helmgart now, if you would not mind me asking? My people draw magic in a different way and one of those resonances there would be ours. It is untainted despite the worst efforts of the Herzblut, but i would feel very much more at ease if i were to come to an arrangement concerning this particular font of magic to allow me to tend to it."

OOC: As the man left Larrisa, who are you asking? Him? If so, read below.

The man turns and eyes her curiously.
"The region belongs to The Grand Principality of Reikland, meaning the defacto ruler, is Markgraf Manfred von Rechtshausen, Imperial Governor, which I suppose one could call an appointed noble and veteran of the Storm wars if you would. He rules those regions and all choices and decisions go via him. My guess is that if Morr is cleansing it as foretold, it will be brought to his notice. Perhaps advocating with him might be wise if you have further interest in this. I recall him having residence here and in Bôgenhafen."
