"Doc" Woods - Chapter 3: Of Rats and Men
Wednesday night comes, the night of the conclave.  The weather is nice and coll this night.  A stark contrast to the attitudes of the kindred at the meeting.  You see one or two new faces that you didn't see last time.  But, you know how it goes, not everyone shows up to these things every time.

A number of heated arguments are starting before the official business does.  You have a moment or two to do what you wish before it starts...

I'll make sure to note if certain folks are here. I'm talking about Maalouf, his childer, Belle, the other 2 Gangrel, and West, oh and the crate woman.

Re: "Doc" Woods - Chapter 3: Of Rats and Men
OF the folks you're looking for...

Those that show up: Belle and her friends.
Those that don't: everyone else.

After some more folks settle in, the Prince stands to begin the conclave...

"Ladies and gentlemen, sons and daughters, fellow children of Caine...  We draw together again this month to address some issues facing our city in these troubled times.  Tempers are running high.  Kindred are blaming each other for things that no one has done.  Others are being blamed for things that others have done,"  He casts a glance around the room.

"This city...  Our city.  The greatest city in not only these United States, but in all the world is under pressure.  And I worry that this pressure will cause an explosion sooner than we can prepare for.  We will address these issues momentarily.  I understand that we have a few newcomers to our city.  If all three of you could come forward..."

Two women and a Nosferatu come forward for presentation.  They all make their introductions.  One is Liliya Zotova of clan Toreador.  The second woman is Deborah Farris of clan Ventrue.  The Nosferatu says his name is Scratch.  The Prince welcomes them to the city and reminds them of the Traditions.

I'm standing attentive and quiet for the moment. I'll definitely look over the other Nos and pay attention to anything he says about himself.

Re: "Doc" Woods - Chapter 3: Of Rats and Men
Scratch doesn't say too much about himself.  He says his name and that he's from L.A.  The Prince gives him a suspicious eye before welcoming him to the city...

After that, the Prince continues on course.

"I am sorry that you three had to come to our fine city in it's current state, but things sometimes get out of hand.  Certain kindred in this city can not contain themselves and those kindred will be dealt with as soon as sufficient evidence is found.  To speak on this matter, I invite Primogen Kitts to step up to the podium..."

Carson steps up and begins calmly...

"Kindred of Las Vegas, we have in our midst a saboteur.  In our midst, we have a traitor to our cause.  As some of you may already know, the strip mining operation on the edge was attacked the other night.  Machinery was destroyed by an explosive.  Workers were killed in the blast."  He pauses, as he tries to compose himself.  "This injustice will not stand!  This was not the act of an eco-terrorist.  This was a direct attack upon all of our well being.  If this can happen in our city, what else can happen here?  I will say this, I am disgusted by the actions of whomever did this and I promise you that I will not rest until the culprits are brought to justice!"  He slams his fist on the podium and storms off the stage...

Prince Travers steps back up to the podium.  "I have decided that, in the best interests of this, our beloved Las Vegas, to encourage anyone with information that leads to the capture of the guilty parties to come forward.  I, personally, will reward the informer with one favor.  Almost no requests will be denied in reward for this information.  This crime has rocked not only the kindred community but, the mortals as well.  I call for blood and blood shall be had!"

Re: "Doc" Woods - Chapter 3: Of Rats and Men
I say nothing, but inside is a battle of conscience vs integrity. I'm no fink, but on the other hand mortals died. It would have been possible to chase the mortals away before bombing (I DID see dead mortals right? They aren't lying about that?.) So I will think on it, and bide my time. If I AM going to say anything, it will private, not in front of everyone.

Doc Woods:
I DID see dead mortals right?

You didn't see dead mortals.  You saw pieces of dead mortals...

The Prince continues...  "In other matters, we have been getting reports of missing kindred in our city.  So far, the Brujah Primogen and his two childer haven't been seen the fires last week, which I will get to shortly as another topic.  I ask you all now, does anyone know of anyone else who is missing?  Please come forward at the end of the conclave and speak to Sheriff Faraz if you know of anyone missing or if you know the whereabouts of anyone known to be missing."

"Lastly, the fires last week throughout our fair city.  From what I understand, a number of buildings in the Paradise, Green Valley, and Southfork areas of our city.  We are slowly figuring out who the culprits behind these heinous acts, but again anyone who has any information should come forward and share what you know."

He then adjourns the meeting.  You can catch Belle and/or the other Gangrel if you wish...

Belle and her three cohorts are standing near the door talking amongst themselves as you approach.  They don't seem too bothered with anyone but themselves...

"Well I don't know, any old topic. Your favorite Pokemon? The best place to get a slice of pie? The bombing at the strip mine? You pick. Can we talk in private though? I don't want anyone to overhear my love of Charizard."

"Well, I'm a Blastoise fan myself.  But, yeah, let's go somewhere nice and private to talk about things.  Where would you like?  Or should we pick the place?"  A sadistic grin crosses her face on that last note...

Re: "Doc" Woods - Chapter 3: Of Rats and Men
I'll go and find a spot a bit out of the way.

"So anyway I think Pokemon is settled. As far as the bombing. I just wanted to say I don't think you are likely the kind of lady dumb enough to threaten the place, blow it up, and then show up to a meeting when you know you are the number one suspects. I think if you were guilty you'd have went on the lam. Am I off base, or am I right so far?"

"I'd say that you're a very smart man.  I'll admit, I wanted the place down, but no, I'm not stupid enough to do something like that and then show up at the conclave to brag about it.  Just what are you getting at?"

I'll look around, really look for anyone hiding, knowing that actively searching for an obfuscated person can sometimes mess it up. Then I'll swallow, and plunge ahead as boldly as I can muster.

"My question is, what was your plan for stopping the mining last night, before the explosion made you leave?"

You don't notice anyone...

"I don't know what you're talking about.  We weren't planning on doing anything yet.  I know about the explosion.  It was all over the news, but I haven't been out there in nights.  Neither have any of my boys."

"I want to be in your corner. Are you really going to push me out of it by acting like I'm not a Nosferatu? Knowing things is what we do. So c'mon level with me. If you still don't want to tell me fine, but you would really be helping yourself by being truthful with me."

"Look, it's not that I don't appreciate people trying to help me out.  And it's not that we didn't want that place gone, but I don't know what you're talking about."  She sighs and then continues.  "I'll level with you because I get the impression that you're concerned.  OK, fine we were out there the other night, but we didn't blow it up.  Man, I'd have loved it if we did, but we had nothing to do with it.  All we were going to do was scare the shit out of the workers and try to get them to close it down.  The blast went off and we scattered out of there.  One of the ones killed was my friend, Tommy.  I'm sorry about the threats, but I thought this was you trying to intimidate me.  So, please, don't talk to Faraz about this.  What do I have to buy your silence?"

Re: "Doc" Woods - Chapter 3: Of Rats and Men
"You admitted you were there, which I already knew. I'm not saying anything to anyone about you being there, you don't need to bribe me. I just had to look in your eyes and hear you admit your presence to confirm that you weren't responsible for those deaths. Of course the Ventrue might try to blame you anyway, but that won't have a thing to do with me I can promise you. I'll bid you good night."

I want to go in and talk to the Prince or Sheriff, whichever is taking info on the mine deal.(giving the gangrel a chance to say any final words of course)

She doesn't say anything else, but she does eye you suspiciously as you leave...

Travers is already gone by the time that you finish talking to Belle, but Faraz is still there.  He's wrapping up talking to a non-descript as you walk up.  They don't seem to have talked about much of importance that you can tell.
