"Doc" Woods - Chapter 4: Bad Moon Rising
After you speak with Brunella, you still have four or five hours until daybreak.  You start to think about what else you could do tonight when your cell rings...

"Doc...  It's me, Ollie.  I need your help.  I got myself into a real mess and I don't know where else to turn.  Can you come bail me out?  I'm at the jail down in Henderson."

Re: "Doc" Woods - Chapter 4: Bad Moon Rising
You get down to the Henderson police department and talk to the officer at the desk.  He tells you that the bail is set at $5000 and that Ollie was arrested for possession of heroin with intent to distribute.  They remand him to your custody and give you a document that states his court date and time.  A few moments later, they release him into your custody...

"Hey, man, thanks.  I owe you."

"I won't ask for money from you Ollie. The problem is the heroin you know. I know very well what it does to you. I fully understand the reasons to stay on it, and the hell involved in trying to kick it. You should try though. I have faced the demon down, and I hope it is dead, if not it's wounded and hiding away deep in it's cave. I'll help you Ollie if you want to be free. I won't force you, but I'm willing to help you to help yourself. I can take you to wherever you want dropped off, or I can take you to help."

On the way here Doc's brain has been in hyperdrive, connecting dots and guessing at the pieces that he can't see. Now as he stands there talking to Olly, it finally clicks for him. Maybe he has gotten it wrong but he doesn't think he has.

His blood runs ice cold with the realization of the truth.

"I don't know, man...  I wanna get clean.  I really do.  God knows it would make for less headache and, who knows, maybe I could even find a job and get a leg up in the world...  But, the junk is strong, man.  It's scary to think about going without it.  Let me get back to you on that.  For now, just take me home."

"I don't want to see your name in the obits, but I'll respect your wishes. I'm not talking a detox center if that's your fear. I'll help you myself, no paperwork, no cost, none of that stuff. Just a guy that's been through it trying to help a friend. So if you still want to go home, let's go, but think about it. It's a nightmare, no lie, but the light at the end of the tunnel makes the darkness worth it."

Re: "Doc" Woods - Chapter 4: Bad Moon Rising
Damn. I need to find out the truth for it's own sake, but who do I talk to about it? I'm done with the Giovanni, I don't take well to threats, so she burned that bridge. Faraz seems the one, but what if he was in on it? No, that really wouldn't make sense in the long run. I'll try to get a hold of him and set up a meet if he can.

I'll go. I'm still not sure it's a great idea but I can't keep it to myself. I'll belt the sword on though. I don't think Faraz would attack me, but someone could on the way there or back.

Re: "Doc" Woods - Chapter 4: Bad Moon Rising
As you pull into the Caesar's Palace parking lot in the back of the building, you see a black sedan parked in front of the door to Faraz's office.  It's not one that you recognize, but there's probably a thousand or so black sedans in Vegas at any given moment...

I'll stay on the bike in case I need to get out of there. My instincts pointed the sedan out to me, so I will trust them and be cautious. I'll call Faraz and tell him I'm there, and ask if he is, and mention the car that seems to be staking his office out.

"Black sedan?  It is alright.  The people who drove it are here in my office.  They are associates of mine.  Come inside and meet them.  I assure you that their presence here is merely coincidence to your arrival."

I'll bite the bullet and go up, but I'm taking the bike all the way near the door. If I have to run, I'll want it right there.

Re: "Doc" Woods - Chapter 4: Bad Moon Rising
You go into the office and are met by the same deputy that you spoke to before about the gun.  He leads you back past the computers and surveillance monitors to Faraz's proper office.

Once inside, you see Faraz and three men in suits sitting around a table.  The men in suits don't look like what you would imagine as typical goombas.  They seem more refined.

"Mr. Woods, have a seat.  I'd like to introduce you to some friends of mine..."  He gestures toward one of the men, who has slicked back white hair and a large scar across his right eye.  "This is Mr. Stevens and his business associates.  They are assisting us in our trouble with the mine."

Stevens nods.  ""Nice to meet you, Woods."  The other two remain silent but nod at you in greetings.

"Now, what can I do for you, Mr. Woods.  Please, do not worry about these men.  They mean you no harm and they are well aware of most of what has happened up to this point in time.  Speak freely."

Re: "Doc" Woods - Chapter 4: Bad Moon Rising
"Alright then. I have no actual proof for what I'm about to say, and for that I apologize, but I came here to tell you so we could get proof if needed. The whole incident with the Prince is by anyone's standards, bizarre. I was asked by Maalouf to pick up a box of ammo, and given the specific crate number where the former Prince of Vegas just happened to be. Right after this Maalouf goes missing, and someone firebombs his pawn shop. The new Prince, or rather the old one, then gets your support back, and together she and her supporters take the city back from Travers.

That makes no damn sense, I say again. The last bit yeah, but not the how or why of how I found her. Well, my theory is this. I happen to know that there are ways here in Vegas to alter one's body permanently. I won't go into that angle of it all, but suffice to say it's there to be done.

I believe that I was sent to the warehouse by a Maalouf look alike. I believe the body I found was Maalouf, altered to look like her Majesty. I believe that he knew you would then support a war with Travers, and put her back in power, only it's not her, it's Maalouf in disguise.

So that's my theory. "

Re: "Doc" Woods - Chapter 4: Bad Moon Rising
"That is an interesting theory...  Very interesting.  I will have to look into that when the opportunity arises, but for now, the mine is my primary concern.  These gentlemen are from a contingent of local werewolves.  They are even more concerned with it than we are.  I will let Mr. Stevens explain..."

"The beast that resides in the mine is something called a Fomor.  It, most likely, used to be some sort of wildlife and has been tainted by the dreams of the spirit that also resides there.  That 'dragon' that Faraz has informed us you found is the least of our worries.  If it awakens, it will most likely attack all of the thugs that patrol there.  Likely killing them all.  After that, it would come into the city and who knows what damage would result from that?  I assume you have heard the tale of the spirit that lives in the mine?  This is true, but not in the sense of some angry ghost left over from some killing or wrongdoing.  No, this spirit is an ancient one.  It once roamed the Nevada deserts and our tribe helped to seal it there.  Now, Pentex has started digging there, not to find precious minerals, but to awaken the spirit.  The explosion has stopped their efforts temporarily, but they will free it in the near future if we don't do something quickly."

"Pentex? I didn't think that was the name of Kitt's company. Well anyway, I have no reason to doubt what you say, I mean I was there, and that place is creepy. I don't want any innocent humans getting killed if it wakes up, which I assume it would do? I'll help in any way I can, although I've been told by Brunella she'll have me killed if I get involved.  Hey, what about the rat men? They were all about the mine as well, are they involved anymore?"

"The Ratkin?  They were a sort of front line of defense.  They are the ones that planted the bomb.  We, however, are the assault team.  My kin and I are planning a hard strike against the mine in the next day or so.  Faraz has said that he will assist us in any way that he can.  While I admit, this is not our preferred method of doing things, sometimes the enemy of my enemy is a friend."
