Re: Doc Woods - Chapter 5 1/2: Halloween Hijinx
It's a pretty intense grapple.  Jay has only a tentative upper hand here.  Both auras read aggressive, but Harry looks more desperate, more determined...  While you assess, the gun falls to the floor.  The two men continue wrestling as Harry starts to throw a punch.

That's my cue to go for the gun. Once I get it I'll scream for them to STOP! and point the gun in that direction.

You sweep the gun out from under them and scoop it up pointing it at them as your voice rings out, echoing through the room.  Harry lands his blood squarely across Jay's chin as you call for them to stop.  And they do stop after that.  Harry scrambles back away from the clown as he is released from the grapple.

"He fucking came at me from behind!  If I didn't see his reflection in that mirror, I'd be fucked right now," Harry exclaims pointing at the small, steel locker mirror on the wall.

I'll be looking for any clues of lies the aura reading may reveal and press on.

"What's your version clowny?"

"Yeah, I came up behind him, but I wasn't trying to hurt him.  I was just going to put my hand on his shoulder to get his attention.  All I was going to do was tell him about the bomb."

"First off, what fucking bomb and secondly, if all you were going to do was tap me on the shoulder then what were you doing with that fucking knife?"

"Knife?  What knife?"

They both seem honest about it all and their auras read the same...

Is there a knife anywhere in sight?

Re: Doc Woods - Chapter 5 1/2: Halloween Hijinx
Not that you see.  A better examination under things in the room still turns nothing up.  Harry seems puzzled and his aura agrees.  The clown's aura reads as excited (which Harry also has from the recent near brawl), shifting to insulted.

"He had a knife.  I know what I saw."  Harry's aura flares with anger for a second.

"Look, I don't have any knife and I never did, but that's not the important thing right now unless you want us all to blow sky high. "  Harry's aura calms while Jay's gets a stern calm wash over it.

"Guys, I think flat out our host is messing with our heads. You know they say these guys can drive people crazy and I think that's what's going on here. I think he was hired by Brunella Giovanni to kill us all, but regardless of actual motives, we are in a trap. I believe each of you, I'm pretty good with auras, and I agree...we need to worry about escape, and this bomb, and whatever has been killing us. No more splitting up. Now let's figure out what the hell we can do. Anyone find anything of use info or item wise?"

(Of course my mind turns to Agatha Christie and 10 Little Indians)

"From what I saw, all the doors are chained and locked from the outside.  The windows are barred.  Unless somebody here is Superman, we are fucked."

Harry interjects, "Brunella?  What reason would that old hag have to want us dead?"

"It's just what I saw when I read the bomb's past. I saw Brunella. I know I've ran afoul of her, my assumption is you all did as well. Any of us could muscle up enough to remove those bars I wager, but I don't know if that will set the bomb. What we need to find out in a hurry is if this is a game we can somehow win, or only a death trap. Let's hurry up and comb this place for any leads, and any survivors. Something is killing us, we need to group up."

"Hell. Why not find where the kid died? I don't think it's really ghosts doing any of this, but the guy is crazy, so maybe if there is an actual game, there may be clues there."

From what you remember from reading online, the train used to run down the hallways, but it's long gone now.  It'd be difficult to find the exact spot where he was run over, but the teacher hung herself in her classroom: #3.  It's just down the hall with Roberta hanging in her place...

Re: Doc Woods - Chapter 5 1/2: Halloween Hijinx
I get chills when it dawns on me, and then realize the kid probably lost his head where the other girl did. If only two people died though....how will that fit with the rest of us....I have already been to both of those places and found nothing of note. I'm really out of ideas at this point(unless my memory and genius tell me anything clue worthy), so I'll go back to the hanged room and look again. I'll mention the connection to the group as well.

Re: Doc Woods - Chapter 5 1/2: Halloween Hijinx
"No way.  That is fucked up," Harry comments.

When you get to classroom #3, you see Roberta still hanging.  Jay goes over to her and asks for someone to help get her down.  Harry helps him.  "It's just not right to leave her like that."

Suddenly, the lights go out and everything is silent for a moment.  Harry screams, "What the fuck?!"  As you and Jay turn to look, you see another woman hanging in the exact same spot that Roberta was hanging, but this woman is slightly transparent.  Her eyes open and she looks at the three of you.  Her mouth opens, but no sound escapes.  She raises her arm and points toward the closet in the corner of the room.  After that, she vanishes and the lights come back on.

"Christ, Abel, and Cain, why did I sign up for this!"

I'll try to calm down, and go look at in the closet.

When you open the closet, to your surprise, a man in all black (including black facepaint) jumps out and swings a good sized, curved dagger at you.  He slices through your lab coat's sleeve, but no damage is scored.

[Secret to Doc Woods: Retcon:  I forgot that you had the pistol.  You still do.]

(The pistol I took? I'm alright with having given it back to him but just making sure).

I'll try to grab for the knife, maybe bite the guy's arm.

You lean in, grabbing his arm in the process and sinking your teeth deeply into his arm.  He lets out a grunt of pain and he attempts to sink his blade into the back of your neck in response.  You turn to the side and rip a chunk out of his arm as you narrowly avoid his vengeance.  Jay runs off back into the hallway towards the principal's office.  Harry begins trying to maneuver himself behind the assailant.

I'll continue my assault. If I think he's undead or I am not sure, I'll resume grabbing and biting. If living I will settle for punching him in the face. Either way, the curse of Cain will fuel my strength as I summon it's power.

Re: Doc Woods - Chapter 5 1/2: Halloween Hijinx
By the obvious lack of breathing, it's a safe assumption that he's not alive.

You lash out again, feeling the surge of strength provided to you by the blood, but miss.  He reaches back to swing his blade in an arcing slice as Harry gets into position of grab and restrain him.  The assassin's blade connects again and again, miraculously, only wounds you jacket.  It's becoming obvious that it will need either repair or replacement if you survive this night.

Your assailant, undeterred, lunges forward again to strike out at you, but Harry grabs him, positioning him into some sort of chicken-wing style hold.  For now, he is restrained and grimacing in pain with each of Harry's flexes.

I'll try to help Harry wrestle him all the way down to see if we can question him. I'll continue to strengthen myself.

Re: Doc Woods - Chapter 5 1/2: Halloween Hijinx
You reach in to help wrestle the assailant down, but as you do, he lets out an ear shattering scream.  Something the likes of which, you have never heard.  It's not just loud, it's high pitched and throaty.  It's frequency pierces you wholly.

It's too much for you.  You grab your ears and drop to the floor.  Failing to your knees, you clench the sides of your head as tightly as you can in an attempt to block out the penetrating scream.  Pain riots through your entire body...

Just as it feels as though you could bear no more, you sit up board-straight and drenched in a blood sweat in your bed at home...

It was all a dream.
