Cars ... yes, we hate the extra expense when they find problems, but it's so much better to know about the problem than to find yourself stranded and have to deal with it anyway after the fact.  :>

here I am once again apologizing.
That wednesday I talked about, was the last time I've had off.
I'm currently between computers thanks to me building a new one for xmas.

Long story short. I cannibalized a few parts to save a few bucks. Things didn't work the way I planned, had to take the PSU from my computer as the PSU i had laying around was "just" a hair under what was needed and not powering properly.

In the process of taking my PSU, and replacing it with the new one that fits mine decent enough, I've somehow created a short in my computer, and it will no longer power up. It is to the point where I've unseated the whole damn thing and it will still not power up.

Computer that is "now" intact is having issues not recognizing the HDD, even after trying to reinitialize it with the new MB.

I'm going to try and cobble something together with the spare parts in my basement, but I have no idea when I'll have time to do it.

That, and the time of year isn't helping any.

Tis the season ... and between Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas I've no idea how those of you based in the US cope !  I've only got the last of the three to worry about and that's more than enough !  <grins>

I've been there before with the computer - a couple of years back I got brave enough to transfer everything from one case to another, only to find nothing happened when I pressed the button.

If it helps, I eventually worked out that it was the cable connections on the front panel (the HDD LED, Power LED, Power switch, Reset switch and Turbo LED) that I'd plugged in wrongly - the diagram I'd found on the net turned out to be incorrect as a subsequent search revealed, so I got lucky and it was an easy fix.

Sooo, super funny.

I wait forever to get my stuff. I'm there watching TV, putting my computer together, just cruising along.

I get to my PSU and put it in. I got this really nice zipper bag that holds all the cables. I open the bag and pull out the MB main connector. I start unwinding it, only to find that some of the wires are crossed. The connectors can not spread more than a few inches apart. I have this long cable that essentially forms a U shape thanks to these crossed wires. Completely useless.

I Finally got a new cable, and I'm up and running Yay! Spent all day yesterday installing programs...

Well done !  Particularly that you can even find the programs you need to reinstall !  ;>

Great to be here, sorry for a long silence, I switched job a month ago and it is very demanding job. I hope with the New Year and everything I'll be able to reach an equilibrium again.

You usually head to some glorious Christmas vacation. It usually slowed down at this time, so no worries. I know all about the job change, I'm still suffering from it asim forced to teach people how to do books, when they don't have a knack for it, grrr.

I have the information I need but I am certain it probably took at least 30 minutes to an hour to get it, so I am waiting for the group to interact a bit before I post again.

It's fairly clear that we have lost Rael. I know people get busy and lose track of time. I had to leave for a few days myself unexpectedly.

Lately I've been trying to balance "dragging" the group forward and letting you drive the inquiry.  However my own lack of posting seems to make it difficult to push forward sometimes.

I'm at a loss of what to do as to much dragging and I'm just telling a story.  Yet not enough and it is obvious that things stagger to a halt.

Any suggestions?

Wait, what?  Where did Rael go?  The game can't die, we lovez it precious!!!  I have just been waiting to post for a logical amount of interaction to pass.

More than happy to waffle on in character, but I don't think it's advancing the game any.   Fun, though.  ;>

Angrboda's players decision to hold off due to the time it'd take to get the info probably did slow us down, though I'd have done the exact same thing ... well, at least till I noticed the GM frowning at me !  <grins>

I do think Rael will be back if/when he can, but in the meantime we're just going to have to forge ahead and hope.

Unlike the earlier sections of the game (palace, ship, other ship, wizard's tower), the progression since we crossed paths with Not-Khazim has seemed a lot more linear - I've not found many options to decide 'left or right', it's more roleplaying with what's put in front of us.  Again, I'm not only happy to do that but enjoy it just as much, but it can cause things to bog down as it does require the GM to draw a line and move us on and that's a hard line to judge (I'm having the exact same problem in one of my D&D games, in fact, both with the current adventure path and having lost a couple of players - and having gone through the recruit/lose/recruit/lose cycle a few times it's hard to know what to do next).

To be honest, I'm very keen to go on, even with just the three of us active players, and don't mind at all if the pacing is slow.  Our GM's posts set up interesting bits and pieces to react to and I love all the other players characterizations, so what's not to love ?!!  :>

Up to here there was always a town around the corner, or a person who you could have talked to, or some route you could have taken.

Here, not so. You have a single lead, a blatant bad guy chasing you, and everyone is gathered together. You've got "all" the keys but not sure what is next. The next section brings back the feeling of choices.

I didn't want to presume to move people forward without them being ready, at least in some capacity.

Never assume we know what we're doing ! <grrrins>

Absolutely happy to move along whenever you feel the moment is right - if I'm enjoying roleplaying one scene, I'm more than certain I'll enjoy the next equally.  :>

I hope Rael comes back. It has been a long journey with him. Plus he has my flask. Lol.

ok, heads up. My department manager has steped down, which means until I get a replacement I've been/going to be extremely busy. On this Friday I'll be heading out of town for the weekend for a family event, only to turn around on Sunday night to head out of town for a business event. I'll try to get something updated by Friday.

Lot longer and lot more went on than I thought.
1 walk out, 2 quit, house full of sick people.
Time flew past with end of the school year events that I didn't know were happening.
