RL doesn't permit me to run an RQ game, much as I'd like to.  Maybe one day - I inherited a lot of RQ3 books a couple of years back.

I have not abandoned the game. I'm still here, waiting and hoping. Work has essentially apologized for the situation we are in.
They even allowed me to open 4 positions to help. Once they are trained in  (or at least when the survivors are ready) I'll take a look at how things are sitting.

Not having to work multiple days in overtime may help with my burnout. It got so bad that I've nearly switched jobs, I have my 3rd interview on Wednesday, though I'm not sure now since the acknowledgement that we were right and the situation is essentially "not our fault" the new positions are somewhat proof that they are taking the senior staff here seriously for a change

<grins> Oddly enough, I can imagine our characters transplanted to a modern setting ... but I avoid adult games, so sadly not for me.   ;>

I'm mostly interested in Runequest, of whatever flavour.  I mostly play D&D (anything from Basic through to Pathfinder), but I've always admired the Runequest system.

I'd be tempted to run a Runequest game myself (could even NPC Berta) - I'm fairly newly returned to the system after having played a couple of decades ago, but I inherited a wide selection of 2nd and 3rd edition material a couple of years back and in my favour I've never abandoned a game either as player or GM in my life ... but that would have to wait six months or so until I get all my ducks in a row.

Way back when I was playing RQ2, so I've got passing familiarity with it ... to my mind RQ3 was an attempt to make the background a bit more fantasy-generic ... ah, yeah, here's the Wiki entry - RQ3 was licenced to Avalon Hill, but Chaosium kept copyright on Gloriantha:

Basic Role Playing was a simplified version of Runequest (I've played both and wouldn't have thought them much different) and as I understand it Stormbringer/Elric and the ilk were setting specific versions of that.

I don't think RQ has the variation you see through iterations of something like D&D - but I'm happy to be corrected on that.  :>
