Re: Balmorra: Zabi's Compound

Arden nodded as he listend to Jax's request.  "Absolutely. I can show you there. It is in our main comm center. It is a little busy at the moment as we are contacting allies both on and off world."

Arden then lead Jax into the main compound building and up to a room near the top of the building.  It was still inside the mountain, but there were holo-images projected on the walls of what appeared the local landscape.  They took up all 4 walls and gave the impression one was outside and not underneath a mountain.

Arden pointed to one of the far comm panels.  "All comms in this facility are secure. Feel free to use that panel."

Re: Balmorra: Zabi's Compound

Jax started to walk toward the terminal, but stopped and turned, "I realize now that I failed to introduct myself. I am Jedi Knight Jax Nilar. Thank you for your help. We are doing our best to root out the Sith plot on Balmorra."

Jax sat at the terminal and began a message.

To: Jedi Temple
Attn: Master Ulric

Master,

Maliq, Jido, and I have uncovered what we think is a Sith plot on Balmorra. Maliq identified a waiter who was actually a Sith, he was attacked and killed the agent while defending himself. He is being held by planetary security forces. Also of note, there was a Diathim present. I am unsure of her role as of now. We are continuing our investigation, but have, I repeat, have identified at least one Sith agent on planet.

Jax headed to the security room and found an operator there, "Lord Zabi sent me here to oversee security while Redden is away. What is the current status of your systems"

Jax paced at the back of the room, trying to keep as much of it in his view at any time.

Arden followed Jax and spoke up once they reached the communications room.

"Most of these devices have not been used in at least 5 years. Some closer to 10. We are still bringing everything online and checking for any issues. So far nothing major has appeared but we are limited in the long range sensors."

Jax scanned the machines, many seemed to be starting, but others might have issues. "Please let me know if you need help. In the interim, we should begin foot patrols in pairs with regular check-ins.

Can I try a Foresee power check?

No difficult for that power. Just need to get the light side pips.

17:16, Today: Jax Nilar rolled no successes, 1 dark force point, 2 light force points using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2f. Foresee.

So yeah, I can get vague hints of events to come, up to a day in the future.

Re: Balmorra: Zabi's Compound

Your vision shows a dark cloud slowly moving over the city. It is drowning and absorbing all light that touches it. It grows larger until a single ray of light is left piercing through.  That ray shines down on you as you stand on one of the streets in the city.  Across from you is a creature hidden in shadow but multi-headed and hard to get an exact look at. Its features seem to morph and change and its form is fluid.  Standing behind and above that creature, observing form one of the buildings, is the Diathem you met earlier. She seems amused at the confrontation but is staying well clear of it.

Re: Balmorra: Zabi's Compound

Jax's awareness returned to the control room, he was leaned over, holding himself up on one of the terminals. Some of the technicians were looking at him, a mix of concern and confusion on their faces.

"Continue with your work, I've just had a vision, but I'm not sure what it means. I am sure that we must be vigilant in these coming hours."

Thanks! That was a good vision, I know that power can be a pain for GMs, so I'll do my best to save it for times that seem more significant.

Arden reached out to put a hand on Jax's shoulder. "Are you alright? Do you need to lie down? I can take you to one of the guest rooms if you need rest. Or maybe the dining room if you require food or drink."

Thanks.  Sorry it took so long to reply, but I wanted to get it right and incorporate all the elements together.

Re: Balmorra: Zabi's Compound

Jax pulled himself back up to his full height, "No, I'll be fine. Though a plate of food and something to drink would be wise. I wasn't able to eat at the gala due to the disruption."

Jax thought back to one final detail of the vision, "Arden, do you remember the Diathem from the gala? Do you know anything about her? Is she a known local prescence around here? She was in the vision. Observing, and pleased by the darkness."

Re: Balmorra: Zabi's Compound

Arden looked confused at Jax's statement.  "Diathem? I have never heard of them before. You are certain you saw one in your vision? That is disturbing."

He turned to speak to one of the attendants. "Pull up all information you can find about this Diathem. Any images or video feeds that might give us any clue to their dealings."

He then turned back to Jax.  "I can show you to the dining hall if you like."

Re: Balmorra: Zabi's Compound

Hm, I had planned on staying here, but if they are just doing research, I suppose a few minutes away won't matter.

Jax nodded and began to follow Arden to the dining hall, on the way he said, "I don't want to remain away from the control center for long. I am unsure of what is ahead of us, but we must be prepared."

At the dining hall he grabbed a platter of seafood mixed wtih a creamy sauce and noodles. The food smelled great, and he expected it to make him feel stronger as well.

Arden grabbed a plate and sat at a table across from Jax.  "I understand.  But at the moment we are at a standstill. Until we find someone on this Diathem, or my uncle returns to the compound, or an emergency appears, we have no leads. Standing around staring at the monitors will not help. I know. Best to take the few moments to relax and recharge when you get them. In my experience they are few and far between."

Re: Balmorra: Zabi's Compound

Jax took a deep breath and let some of the tension out. "You're right. There will be a time to get worked up, but now we should rest and prepare."

He savored a few more bites of his meal and continued, "I'd like to help with some of the research that your team is working on. I have some ideas of where to start."

Jax waited for Arden to finish eating and headed back to the control room, grabbing a terminal to start working.

Check (perhaps lore?) to figure out some more details about this Diathem

He then turned to lead Jax back to the main control room.

Lore works.  4D since they are a rare species.

Jax scanned through files locally and on the galactic web. Diathem were definitely a rare species and culture. There was a good amount of info out there, but some sources conflicted or simply lacked good references.

12:06, Today: Jax Nilar rolled 4 successes, 3 threats using the Star Wars Edge of the Empire with a dice pool of 2a 2p 4d. Lore Check.

Re: Balmorra: Zabi's Compound

There were many false leads and conflicting information about the Diathem.  They are an incredibly rare species and not many facts are known.  There are stories about them that go back to the founding of the republic.  But these same stories tell of dragons that can travel in space, fish-like creatures that once ruled the entire galaxy, and a race of hive-minded insects that built entire solar systems for an even stranger race of beings.

The few true facts that Jax could find pointed to a planet named Iego. They were rumored to be a very kind and helpful species that rarely left their home planet. They were said to have telepathic abilities and some powers of suggestion.  Little else was known fact and most other details seem to contradict each other or are outright fabrications.

Jax read the info, Fairy tales were not what I had in mind at a time like this...

He keys up a new search, specifically about Sarai Fleur, the Diathem who appeared at the gala.

Difficulty for a Lore or education check (or maybe computers)
