Re: OOC: Chat and Silliness welcomed

Here's some silliness.
I rolled up a Foo for the fun of it. My initial attributes made me think it would be lame. But meet Sol, maybe ze (not sure if Foo have male and female) can be our lawyer. Former navy captain O5 in the core rules and an experienced Broker R6. Ze can come find us anywhere no need for a ship and for an appropriate emergency fee ze can even fix a broken ship.

Be careful Sol is a good lawyer and frequent liar. If there's no need for an NPC maybe I'll make zem my Ally when T'rissa throws me in the brig I can "Just call Sol".

Edu 8, +1111 = 12
End 6, +111 =9
Str 3, -2 +1 =2
Soc 2, -2 = Soc 10 for being Navy Captain
Dex 5,+1 = 6
Int 7 +11111 +3 =15

Comms 0, computer 0, Astrogation 1
Pilot 0, Vacc Suit 0, Zero G 0, Gunner 0, Mechanic 0, Gun Cmbt 0, trade 0,
Engineer (Electronics) 3, Engineer (Power) 1, (naval) 1, (small craft) 1
Melee Blade 1, Leadership 1, deception 1, Admin 1

Re: OOC: Chat and Silliness welcomed

I could use some help from someone with a very good understanding of the computer/human/weapon interfaces.  I'd like to have Mixtzin's equipment list checked to be certain that I've set things up properly.  Advice on software could be useful, too.

Thanks

Re: OOC: Chat and Silliness welcomed

Updated the design after figuring out how to get the textures right. This is the ship you guys just bought.

Getting the paint job, and turrets, right was a pain in the tookus......

sorry for the delays, but i had to put some serious effort into an RL issue, and trying t learn this modelling thing on my own is a pain....But with this skill added to my bag of tricks I can do more of my own work..so I guess you can call it work related delay.

On the bright side, I can claim it as a work related study project....this is going in the book I am working on .... you guys get to play with it and break it before anyone else...

In reply to Prometheus (msg # 231):

You're doing a great job so far, just keep it up and keep a stiff upper lip as it were and it will all work its self in the wash as it were.   And yeah we get to break something in new before anyone else.   No really it's really great that you are putting so much effort into the game for us.

Thanks Rick, the player

Does this suit the battle tested and weather worn look.

sad thing is that is a few button clicks, and a prefab texture to make the change..it took me a week to figure out textures now its down to button clicks and artistic taste

Of course it should be green/black when seen from above, and blue when seen from below, like WWII fighter planes.

Re: OOC: Chat and Silliness welcomed

It should be black, 'coz it's high tech, with red pin striping, to make it go faster, and some fuzzy dice...

Can we get an SEP field for it?

My vote would be for purple.
Just because it's the best colour ever.

I disagree, but only in degree.  Violet is the bestest colour.
Lynn Winters:

Then we'd have Wonder Woman's spaceship...
Alex:
[SEP field] What's that?

"An SEP is something we can't see, or don't see, or our brain doesn't let us see, because we think that it's somebody else's problem.... The brain just edits it out, it's like a blind spot. If you look at it directly you won't see it unless you know precisely what it is. Your only hope is to catch it by surprise out of the corner of your eye."

Somebody Else's Problem field, or SEP, is a cheap, easy, and staggeringly useful way of safely protecting something from unwanted eyes. It can run almost indefinitely on a torch (flashlight)/9 volt battery, and is able to do so because it utilises a person's natural tendency to ignore things they don't easily accept, like, for example, aliens at a cricket match. Any object around which an S.E.P. is applied will cease to be noticed, because any problems one may have understanding it (and therefore accepting its existence) become Somebody Else's. An object becomes not so much invisible as unnoticed.

A perfect example of this would be a ship covered in an SEP field at a cricket match. A starship taking the appearance of a large pink elephant is ideal, because you can see it, but because it is so inconceivable, your mind can't accept it. Therefore it can't exist, thus ignoring it comes naturally.

An S.E.P. can work in much the same way in dangerous or uninhabitable environments. Any problem which may present itself to a person inside an S.E.P. (such as not being able to breathe, due to a lack of atmosphere) will become Somebody Else's.

An S.E.P. can be seen if caught by surprise, or out of the corner of one's eye.

Slartibartfast's ship, Bistromath, is covered in an SEP field.
