Re: University, by Day or night
In reply to The Uncaring Night (msg # 74):
She looks at him matter-of-factly "Well technically you're a landlord now.". She sets the handled box down, taking out a few articles of clothing, her pink bunny, and a small stack of assorted books and notebooks. "I have more things to get. I'll be in and out for awhile." she pauses "oh, it's also very important you don't disturb me during the day for any reason. I stay up most of the night because of my medical condition. That's when I get things done. So I sleep very late." she shrugs "It's odd I know, but it works for me.". She smiles warmly, careful to make direct eye contact. Her gaze locks with Eddie, a neutral expression on her face "No disturbances during daylight.". She imbues the words with as much concentration and power as she can, still not sure of how effective she could be. She had failed before. Being left unmolested during her daily sleep was not only critical to her safety, but to Eddie's as well. She realizes looking at the man, that she really would hate to have to kill him. She might even consider letting him live if he discovered her secret and kept it. That of course went against the most important vampire law enforced, and her Sire had firmly forbid her from it. He might even kill her himself if that happened and she was caught. Eddie seemed to have a gentle and kind nature, despite his misfortunes in life. She felt he deserved her help and protection. She glances at him; yes, she might risk it if the worst were to happen.
After several more trips Sadie places her last load on the hardwood floor of her room. She has no mattress, but she plans on spending the days in the closet anyway, which luckily was carpeted. With some effort she had pushed the bookshelf in front of the window. It fit over perfectly, the back flush with the frame. She had stolen a roll of duct tape from Jan on her last trip, and she used it to seal the cracks between the bookshelf and window frame. She does her best to hide as much of the tape as she can. Eddie might object otherwise, and really, it just looked tacky. She could probably safely sleep just in the room, but the closet was a good extra measure. Out in the room just felt too risky. The bookshelf actually serves her well. She lines up her school supplies, texts and notebooks. Her clothes she hangs in the closet, shoes on the shelf above them.
Eddie is watching tv by the time she finishes. She sits herself on the second sofa of muted yellow. Eddie seems glad of the company, and to be honest, so is she. She had been very alone since the embrace. The only cohabitor in her world was her Sire so far. "Excuse me Eddie, I have something to do. I'll see you later."
She finds herself on the doorstep on her Sire's house. The guard at the gate seemed to know her face, and hadn't challenged her passage. She doesn't know if he'll be angry with her, but she feels she has to tell him what happened. She hadn't even enjoyed killing the two students who had crept down to her resting place. It had been a deperate act of self preservation. She remembers her Sire's words carefully. How many was a "bloodbath"? Would he punish her? She knocks on the door.
