Re: All too swiftly I descend into the night.

Their both expected and invited in by a ghoul

The music played is beautiful indeed, blood is offered in wine glasses some of it is VERY unique tasting...

An hour into it, the Daeva Primogen Mr Westfield is speaking a bit freely

"The Heritage of the Daeva is ancient, ere the days of Rome, Ere, the building of the Pyramids, we were, we ruled in sumeria, the ventrue have ruled only since the fall of rome, yet all too often become princes?" Asks as if he finds that absurd

"Why? A simple talent for directly commanding others? Daeva are smoother, we dont leave the hurt feelings the ventrue do, and charm our way into gaining concessions."

Her sire pauses and asks "Jacqueline, would you  care to answer Mr Westfields statement" Clearly having confidence she can poke holes in his logic.

In reply to The Uncaring Night (msg # 260):

Jacqueline smiles agreeably. "Oh certainly, simple talent for command indeed does not make a ruler. I agree with you completely. Even I can tell there is far more to the to the princes of clan Ventrue, else they would never hold a crown.". She continues "As for hurt feelings, surely you don't think Ventrue could compare to the exquisite, effortless grace of the Daeva?. She says this last part teasingly, as if confirming what he already knows. "Our strengths lay in other areas. We can only hope to take a lesson from the Daeva to rule in beauty..

Jacqueline is careful not to address the fact that the Daeva are no longer in power. Moaning about the power that clan held in the past will bring them no closer to holding power now. She accepts the stratagy of the gracious victor, openly agknowledging the areas of superiority in the dethrowned clan.

Re: All too swiftly I descend into the night.

nods "A fair point, but what of Modernerity?" He asks

"Your clan was established in the first nights after the Camarilla's fall, and trys to pretend the modern world away, the more wealth you achieve,"  Pauses and raises a hand "And I'll grant you do have a talent for achieving it..." He allows then

"But the more wealth you achieve, the more you tend to cut yourselves off from Humanity"

"My own we as I allready mentioned were established Ere the building of the Pyramids.

Yet we are generally quite at home in a night club, living amongst the throngs of humanity

Amongst your own clan do not forget the Maccelarius, brutal cannibals who eat human flesh, and engage in the most odious forms of conspicuous consumption.

or the Melissdae, who sought to turn humans into mindless drones, and set themselves up as Queen Bees, over colonys of "workers"

In reply to The Uncaring Night (msg # 262):

Jacqueline listens attentively, politely giving her full attention. "There are a variety of groups surrounding any who hold power. As well as unfortunate heads to any empire. Surely you would not hold the entire Greek civilization responsible for the unfortunate rule of emperor Nero?. She pauses "I do however, agree with your sentiment on the Ventrue's shunning of modern life. Not only might it prove a weakness, but it might also prove very dangerous. As a newly embraced Ventrue, I only hope I can add the benefits of my age to the wisdom of Ventrue in time.". By this, she means she hopes to change the very concern he pointed out. She is no fool though; she has no power in her clan, and it might take a long time to gain any. She knows she has to maintain a humble stance.

There is no point in hiding anything this obvious from fellow kindred. Perhaps by openly admitting it, she might gain allies outside her own clan.

Re: All too swiftly I descend into the night.

Another kindred nods coming over wearing a suit having fair skin and brown hair...

"Every clan has bloodlines, that the clan as a whole would probaly prefer to forget... among the Lowly Gangrel Mekhet and Even NOSFERATU you'll find bloodlines such as the Yagnata Who are as capable of functioning in the aristocracy as the Ventrue, You'll also find REPREHENSIBLE bloodlines within every clan"  he points out sagely

"Samuel White, of Clan Mekhet" He introduces himself

Mr Westfieldnods " A Fair point childe clearly your sire made a fair choice when he embraced you" She gets the impression they were... appraising her to see how good or bad a choice her sire made in embracing her.

"I've heard your working on establishing your own business how goes that endeavour?" asks curiously.

A'lia wanders through the door, painfully aware that all eyes are on her and thankful that she can no-longer blush. She keeps her head down and makes her way directly to the bar.

She awkwardly sips her drink and fidgets with the chain around her wrist, suddenly feeling terribly under dressed in a pair of slacks and and white blouse. She tries to scan the room without making eye contact with anyone. "just make it through tonight A'lia" the tells herself "one night and then they'll all forget about you." She isn't accustomed to this kind of attention.

OOC: so how exactly does this work? Is it like a social manipulation thing or do we use dice to represent cards?

OOC: yeah random small talk can be a tricky thing to roleplay, I guess this is something her sire should have told her but I honestly didn't give much thought to them till now, perhaps they're gone or dead or something
