Still the Cult of Cybele is the voice of the Circle in town, their one or two other cults, or so I hear, but they almost never bother showing their face in Elysium, why the Galloi tend to be considered the circle by many

They engage in bizzare rituals of blood sacrafice, and can perform rituals on anyone to make them more attractive, appealing or witty, but always demand a price in return, often not one that would be willingly paid.

"Circle of the crone are like vampire witches right? And nosferatu aaaarre... The gross ones? Fuck I'm glad I'm not one of those guys" she shuts her mouth and glances around, suddenly sure that one of them must be standing behind her. She takes a sip of her drink with a blush.

"Yes the Circle of the crone are pagans... and Nosferatue, many are gross, some hideous, others just disquieting in some bizzare way, with a normal even glorious appearance on the surface. But they all have some kind of major social handicap, that keeps them from easily mingling with mortals." sighs as  he explains

"Keep that in mind, normal even handsome or beautiful nosferatu do exist they just give off a subtle aura of menace.

She sits in silence for a moment, toying with her drink as she considers what to ask next. Finally she just falls back on the standard: "So what about you? What do you do Mr. ... I'm afraid I didn't catch your name?"


OOC: sorry for the late reply, damn thing didn't tell me there was a new post. I think I'm running short on small talk here, we might want to consider moving this party along.

"Mr Carpenter" he sighs "I speak for the local Mekhet" he bows slightly

"IF you wish to treat with clanmates for this or that purpose, come to me, we sell information to anyone for a price.

"So that's what we do? Information? What do we charge for this? Money? Blood? Firstborn Son? Is there an in-clan discount? Are we expected to work together or is it every Mekhet for themselves?"

nods "Often times, yes, but covenant loyalty, can, and does, come into things"

"And you speak for us? So if I want to trade with the rest of the clan I go through you?"

"Often times yes, especialy if you dont know who would be looking into this or that thing"

"And do you arrange a meeting with the other Mekhet in question or do we just deal through you?"

"dependds on the circumstances, and if you and the other mekhet have reason to dislike each other"

Jacqueline smiles, "I'm very delighted to meet you both.". She actually was truly glad of some stimulating conversation. She had a feeling she had somehow passed some sort of small test too.

She responds to Mr. Westfieldnods' question "It isn't a familar thing for me, but I'm managing so far. I saw the need for a vendor of that type in my area, the rest fell into place.". She pauses and smiles again with a twinkle of humor "A lot of things are new for me now."

He nods "It often feels that everything is new, when your a fledgling." he acknowledges then smiles

"But chin up , within a decade or so you'll be released and start seeking glory and your own domain, then you can worry about establishing yourself in the danse macabre" He pauses

"1 in 8 vampires survive to transition to Ancillae" smiles "But I think in spite of your young chronicalagical age, you have a fair chance of being in that category, but take heed, many of those who fall, do so to either cleaving too closely to their humanity, and thus denying them effective tactics that might have preserved their unlives, or disregarded it, and thus, went mad as their humanity deteriorated, you must try for a balance, though perfect balance" Shakes his head "Does not exist, but you must strive for it never the less"

Jacqueline nods, grateful for the advise and general encouragement. Her eyes wander over the room, taking in the kindred scattered about it. Some guests were conversing in small groups, with a few pairs and the occasional solitary kindred moving about or observing others.

A slim darker colored Mekhet stands out. Jacqueline isn't sure how she is able to tell, after all, she is barely learning to guess at clan on sight. Something about her tells Jacqueline she must not even be older than herself. Jacqueline wonders if she looks just as lost and unsure as the young kindred she hopes doesn't notice her staring across the room.

It strikes her as ironic she was embraced at such a young age; looking like almost a child in comparision to someone who was actually a younger kindred than she.

He nods "Any other Concerns Jacqueline?" He asks her curiously...

"If you are looking for information, my clan knows much, and can learn virtually everything."

In reply to The Uncaring Night (msg # 303):

"None important enough to bother you with." She replies politely "I will keep your kind offer in mind however.".

Jacqueline indicates the young mekhet with her eyes "Do you know who's childe that is?".

He sighs but nods

"His sire is  a harpy in minor standing... currently an outlying member of elysium... while Daeva harpys have a way of becoming popular, mekhet harpys know how to know"

In reply to The Uncaring Night (msg # 305):

Jacqueline leans in in a slightly conspiratorial manner. "Tell me honestly, why do kindred of high standing hate those of particular clans so much?". She pauses, thinking "Surely there is a strength there some must take advantage of."

It had occurred to her that a clever kindred must realize the arbitarary nature of exclusion among their ranks. Perhaps this could serve to keep some pressed into service, but she could not help but think it was sheer luck that she had landed where she had.

In reply to Jacqueline Donahue (msg # 306):

He pauses...  "Firstly it's contempt , not hatred... a subtle but important difference. and the reason?"

Another dramatic pause...

"Every clan has its elitists... those from the Ventrue and Daeva are just like to come across as more insufferable as they have the political power to backup their feelings of superiority."

A bit latter and another kindred introduces himself.

"Giles Samuel Carpenter, of Clan gangrel" he introduces himself with a slight bow

Hes got a slight beard, is dressed in clothes much more pristine then most gangrel shes met, albeit still dull in colors.

Jacqueline returns the slight bow, obviously curious that a Gangrel should be dressed as he is, and an invited guest of her sire. Though she has no real bias against other clans that are not so favored amoung kindred, she is careful to remind herself that his interets may be colored by such a bias. His unspoken lower ranking amoung the clans does not at all mean he is any less clever, experienced or posessing of alterior motives than those she had already met tonight. She would do well to remember it.
