Klinzhai

Qo'nos (Kronos). Also known by its more traditional name, Klinzhai.

The City of Aval is the only city on the planet that allows offworlders and any businesses they wish to open - after paying the right people and passing numerous (and continuous) security checks.

It is in the tavern/inn called "A taste of Rigel" that Krantz finds himself in, awaiting his friend Khaval. He took a booth, chasing off two ruddy orions with a simple glare. Taking a seat, he soon found a buxom green orion female waitress with hair the color of crimson and a bright smile asking him what he would like to drink.

Re: Klinzhai

The Weapons Officer, enjoyed this drinking establishment, due to the Green Orion servers. He claimed a booth in the corner, so he could watch the room.  Krantz, ordered some fruit juice, because he wanted a clear head for the time being. He allowed his eyes to roam around the room, taking note of those present.

His ever present hatred of Imperial Security, had given him an even more pronounced, sense of paranoia, then a Klingon usually had,  in his day to day thinking. He just knew he was under surveillance, waiting for him to perform some perceived infraction, so he could be arrested.

Re: Klinzhai

Khaval walks in & pulls a black haired orion female to him, whispers something in her ear and she gave a small smile to him. Spotting his friend, he went directly to him and took a seat.

"Such a brooding face - worried about  Imperial Security lurking about? I think the purple haired orion female with the large hips is the district captain of this section of the city", he said with a snicker. The orion he talked to came back to him and placed before him a large mug of blood wine.

He winked in return to her smile as she left, leaving the two alone.

Re: Klinzhai

Krantz gave an obscene gesture to his fusion friend, when he heard the joke about Security. He drained the last of his fruit juice, and waved the server for another. " Your joke, it's not very damn funny. If you had been given the level of attention those Targ droppings give me, you would not think it so funny." When the fruit juice arrived, Krantz looked at it a moment, then tossed it onto the floor. " Bring me blood wine, you Orion slut."  Snarled the Weapons Officers.

Re: Klinzhai

Khaval watched as the orion server picked up the glass, wiped up the spilled fruit juice and went away to get Krantz Blood Wine.

He sat back. "It was not this one's intention to make light of your situation...Blame my human DNA for that. I have made my own inquiries into your father's...Infraction with Imperial Security but so far have not been successful but not all my resources have been exhausted."

He took a drink of his blood wine as the waitress came promptly with another for Krantz.

Swallowing hard, he continued. "Due to the infraction, I understand that your posting to the Bloodspiller has been recinded - a pity...She was to be assigned to the 123rd Assault Flotilla and they are to be assigned to the Federation Border."

Re: Klinzhai

Kramtz listened to his only friend, speak of trying to seek information." Kaval, Kahless only knows, why you are my friend, when others treat me like I am a Romulan.  Your efforts on my behalf, while foolish, shall not be forgotten, my friend. But, you should cease them now, I would not see you marked, as I am, by Security." The blood wine arrived, and Krantz grabbed it and took a long swallow.

He was silent for the next several moments, as if he where lost in thought. When he did speak again, it was in a low tone of voice, that his friend could hardly hear. " I need to somehow get out from under this shadow of dishonor, my sire has passed on to me." A long drink of Blood Wine. "I cannot bribe my way out of it, not on my rank pay. It must be thru deeds, but the way it is going, I will be fortunate to be assigned to a Star Fortress, or some remote outpost and forgotten. No, Glory, no chance for wealth......" He slammed the blood wine vessel hard upon the table, that caused blood wine to leap and dance in the air, before falling upon the table. "KAGGA'S CROWN! I will not fade into the nothingness." He said in anything but a calm voice.

"You wont", Khaval said.

"The D 18 destroyer, Ripper is looking for crew - the Triangle area from what I understand...I am in line for Helmsman - I might be able to get you a position on board her once my position is secured."

He takes a drink from his blood wine awaiting his friend's reply.

Re: Klinzhai

Krantz stopped lifting the vessel to his lips, when his friend told him about a possible berth aboard a ship. " A Destroyer? And it going on patrol to the Triangle, you say? More then one Captain and ship have found glory in that place." He drained the rest of the  blood wine. Krantz waved to the servitor, for that is how he saw Orion's, to fetch two more vessels to their table.

Krantz regarded Khaval, and not for the first time, mused why this Fusion had befriended him, and seemed to wish his well being. After a few moments of silence, he spoke to his friend again. " I know we are friends, but you risk your own situation, Khaval. The Security Officer on board the Destroyer, will get my records, assuming I am accepted. Sooner or latter, he would discover you had a hand in my assignment." A  long drink from the blood wine. "No, Khaval, unless you are more then you seem, you cannot get me onto that ship. But I shall not forget your words. But if you are more then you seem, then You shall have one in me, worthy to stand guard, as you sleep." He drank blood wine.

Re: Klinzhai

"This one is honored", Khaval said.

"You are a skilled weapons officer - more so than some house & line members and deserve this posting...As to my inquiries on your father; If you wish me to cease my investigations, i will but i am getting close to what happened...Say the word and i will discontinue my inquests...Do not concern yourself about me - i can protect myself & my dealings", he said, taking another drink of blood wine.

Re: Klinzhai

The Weapon's Officer sat there, in silence, for a few moments, before he again spoke. " Khaval, I do not know why, but you continue to assist me, in spite my my telling you to discontinue. What is it, what do you want of me? Friendship is not reason enough, not enough for you to risk you Career, and perhaps even your life. You must want something in return."  Kraits was thinking like a Klingon, one raised in the finest traditions of the Perpetual Game. He always look for the motives of others, and then studied them. But Khaval was his friend, so he asked bluntly, to honor that friendship, instead of the usual move and counter move of the verbal spar.

Re: Klinzhai

Finishing his blood wine, Khaval put the cup aside & took a serious tone.

"You are my friend, Krantz...It is my intention to put together a crew - in the future, i would like to have a ship of my own but also a crew that I can trust with my life beyond the threat of a D'tagh or political motivation. If you do not wish this but seek a ship of your own, I believe we both can achieve that goal together.

Should I find the reasons behind your father's security mark, I would tell you - but also use it to gain advantage for my cause - but you would not be left behind because of it...It would be something to use should you try to betray me - does the one see the wisdom in this
?"

He let Krantz think on it while he waved for an order for more bold wine for the both of them.

Re: Klinzhai

The other officer and friend, of Krantz, explained his reasons for his efforts, as concerned helping Krantz. The Weapons Officer weighed and measured these reasons, and came to the conclusion that they where worthy of a Klingon. He would accept the assistance, and develops his own tactics to make the situation to his own advantage." Your reasoning is worthy of the Game, Khaval. But when you find those that have dishonored my Father and Line, leave them to me. I claim Line Honor, and it is for me to settle matters."

"This need not be said - but yes", Khaval said.

Their blood wines arrived and Khaval raised his mug in toast.

"To our future - and the rewards we will reap through the Komerex Zha...Or service on The Black Fleet in Sto-Vo-Kor should we fall!"

Re: Klinzhai

When the blood wine arrived, Kramtz grabbed his goblet and repeated his friends toast. "To the Kommerex Zha, and may we slay many of the Empire's enemies, before we join the Black Fleet, and slay them again, a thousand times a thousand." He clanked his vessel against Khaval's and drained the  blood wine to the dregs, some of it running down his beard and chin. Laughter escaped the lips of Krantz, for he then realized, nay, remembered, that bitterness was unworthy of the Klingon Warrior. For no matter his fate,he would die well, and the naked stars would remember.
