1C - TiNH - Part Three: Rowyn & Alohan

Alohan slips away to the Kellani mansion the next district over. It is noon, so perhaps it is not surprising that the very professional footman (who doesn't show even a hint of an eyebrow raise at Alohan's mid-day booty call) Rowyn is out of the house. The foot sends a servant immediately with a message to announce Alohan's arrival.

Rowyn arrives about half an hour latter, smiling and obviously happy at the unexpected visit. "I'm sorry you had to wait, today has been chaos down at the docks - what with the harbour entrance being blocked for most of yesterday. Islaran is a frakking fool for not dredging the bar more frequently... This was an accident waiting to happen, all it took was one boat to take on water at the wrong time and then..."

She tails off and laughs, then gives him a warm embrace. She sweaty from her day at work, and her dark red hair, which is pulled back into a rough ponytail is drenched. It's strange, but she doesn't smell like the docks. He hair has the odour of mildew and damp earth clinging to it - perhaps she has been in a ship's hold?

"But never mind that, it is so good to see you!"
She gives him a passionate kiss. "So to what do I owe the pleasure of this visit?" she says coyly.

Re: 1C - TiNH - Part Three: Rowyn & Alohan

"I be thinkin' on your offer, ipo ahi," he begins. "Lavinia Vanderboren be offering me a job. I not.. de working type but she be needing my help and i'm not de one to say no." He shrugged sheepishly at Rowyn's accusing glance. "It not be like dat ipo ahi. She be needin' help with her family's ship and fortune. Be lookin' like her brother Vandus robbing her blind." Alohan walked over to sit, the days events weighing heavy on the mind.

"She be willing to put me up on retainer... what ever dat be meaning. I not knowing what ta do. I be making some friends workin' for Lavinia and be thinkin' of sticking with dem but her families problems aren't my concern."

"I be coming ta Sasserine ta live a little, not be some spoiled brat's errand boy" he said at last, rubbing his forehead.

Re: 1C - TiNH - Part Three: Rowyn & Alohan

Rowyn sits down next to Alohan and puts her hand on his thigh - quite high up on his thigh actually.

"Look Alohan, let me give you some advice, because this situation is actually pretty clear cut. There are two types of people in life - victims and the victors. Cousin Lavinia," she catches Alohan's look. "Oh, all the nobles in the great families are cousins with each other somehow. I forget how I am related to Lavinia - I think we are second cousins on my father's side. Anyway, Lavinia is a victim. Always has been and always will be. Now admittedly, it is not all her own fault. The last decade she spent in the Thenalar Academy for Fine Young Ladies hardly set her up for a real life in the hustle and bustle of Sasserine, but I knew her as a kid and she was always soft. Ten years on all that has changed is that now she knows how to fold napkins really well."

"I attended the Telvanta Dance Academy. To be honest it was gruelling, unpleasant and sometimes distasteful, but it made me what I am today..." Rowyn looks a little sad as she says that last part, but then her face tightens and her voice grows harder. "...a victor Alohan. Alohan, I am one of the victors of this city and I am going to make it great."

"Now, you can waste your time on providing security for Lavinia's next tea party... Or you can come down to the docks with me, crack a few heads and get my family's ships loaded on time. <chuckle>" Her hand starts creeping up along Alohan's thigh. "After we go upstairs and take care of a little *other* business first of course..."

Re: 1C - TiNH - Part Three: Rowyn & Alohan

Alohan instinctively leaned back welcoming her advances. He was close to indulging in their primal desires when something she said gave him pause. "Ya be needin' someone ta... give encouragement ta people in need? 'Crack a few heads?'" he repeated perplexed. "I thought ya be wantin' me ta help, not be no-ting more den some muscle." Admittedly, Alohan was a bit disheartened at the request. He had come to like Rowyn but was beginning to get the impression she went about means in an aggressive manner. Although being Lavinia's errand boy wasn't ideal, he sure the hell didn't want to do Rowyn's dirty work.

"Ipo ahi, dis be not soundin' good. I don't like hurtin' people unnecessarily." He took her hand off his thigh and held it in his. "Is dis all ya be having of me?"

Re: 1C - TiNH - Part Three: Rowyn & Alohan

Rowyn sighs. "Look Alohan, I am hardly going to ask you to help with the company accounts now, am I? We all have our specialities in life, and yours is... cracking heads, although I could try and make it sound more elegant if you want."

The red-headed women stands up. "I don't have time for this right now... Well, to be honest I can't be bothered with this right now. But think about it. Lavinia will have you cracking heads before you know it anyway - at least she will if she has any business sense at all - so why not come and do it for me?! She won't spread her legs for you, you know, no matter how 'nice' you are."

She sees Alohan's look of disapproval, and holds up her hands appealingly. "Fine, fine, let's not argue about it. Next time we meet I will ask you again and I promise that you that it will make more sense then."
Then she turns and walks out of the house back onto the street.
