Re: Into the lair of the huecuva

Back from our little vacation - we rented a little cabin and it was nice to be away from civilisation for a few days. I hope everyone else also had a nice break.

Can we a talk about oil please? First of all, I want to make a house rule that splash weapons should target squares and not grid intersections since this will make the miss throw weapons so much easier (just roll a d8 and 1 = north, go clockwise).

Also, you have to light it before throwing it, right? Or otherwise it can be poured into a square?

Re: Into the lair of the huecuva

i was throwing it without lighting it hoping that later on, Celene would spark the flame.

Anyway, with regards to AoO, I wont be even rolling... no point, Angati is unarmed this round only had her shield on hand.

I don't have time to process a zombie turn today, so may as well give Johannes the chance to roll another 1d6 :)

Dungeon Master:
OOC: What?! <DM looks out from behind DM screen in disbelief at the sheer number of targets named. Studies map.> Geez. OK, yes.

Didn't you play an alchemist in Ron's game and it was a character that used lots of splash weapons? ;D

Nope! The first Kassius played an alchemist (Magnus), but he was more of a melee alchemist. I don't remember him using any bombs. I played the druid (Aengus) who used a fair amount of area of effect spells (and would have steadily used more as he got to higher levels).

Re: Into the lair of the huecuva

This will probably come up next round, and I want to make sure I have everything right because I've never actually played a rogue before and used acrobatics.

So, avoiding AoO is acrobatics.  Easy enough.  You can also move through an enemy's space, at DC 5+CMD.  The average zombie has a CMD of 14, so it'd be DC19 to move from Logan's current position to I8, flanking Z6 with Alohan.  If Logan gets a 19, he can do that with no AoO from 3, but 1 and 6 still get AoO.  For every two points he beats that by, it's one less AoO.  So a 21 means one AoO, and a 23 (rolling a 14 or better) means no AoO.  (And less than 19 means he loses his move and provokes 3 AoOs!)

Is that accurate?

Re: Into the lair of the huecuva

Look's right to me as well, with one further addendum. Because of the entangle spell, the whole area is difficult terrain, which requires 10 ft of movement to move every 5 ft square. When using acrobatics, you also move at half speed. So effectively, you go at 1/4 speed. So you can't go 10 ft unless you have 40 ft of base movement.

Re: Into the lair of the huecuva

Yeah, I only want to move two squares anyway, so that's no big deal.  Just enough to flank Z6 with Alohan at the other side of Z3.

@DM:

I see you hitting me, when no hitting should happen, unless I am mistaken.

My current AC is 23, and they are hitting me on an 18.

Maybe I got something wrong ?.

Oh, and because they are 'ravenous', if they are successful in a grapple they automatically inflict bite damage, it is a special ability they have.

Johannes, what dark forces have you sold your soul to in order to roll THREE sixes in a roll for channelling?!

Cthulhu - figured we needed it,so... :-/

No, only utter devotion in our holy Witch Goddess will save us. Half an hour before i roll, i light up incense and sprinkle holy water around the pc, then sit in silent contemplation will my necklace of prayer beads, until it is time to roll...

unfortunately, I fear it's not enough, even though i gave it all i could! :-( Things look grim for Logan and Angati!!!

Man, that sucks. One second Logan is discussing aerobatic manoeuvres, then the next second Z3 is wearing his lower intestine as a party hat. :(

Please look over the numbers closely and tell me I have made a mistake.
