Barissa: Had no idea that was the REAL Barissa. I assumed it was some kind of.. hag masquerading as her. Or maybe the original Barissa didn't exist and this hag/doppleganger type was the original one. Were we to to like.. subdue her and cure her of a curse or something?
The module assumes that the party doesn’t subdue her and take her back for curing, but since you guys are sort of elite and had the ability to do that, I thought that was what you were lining up with all the 'stunning fists' and 'grease' being used.
Good point about it not being obvious if this was the real Barissa or not – even now you guys don’t know since she just popped like a big bag of goo.

Dunno, didn't seem as obvious -no fault of the GMs obviously- the AP is kind of throwing this Savage Tide curse stuff right at us without and significant build up. Like, the first book had nothing to do with the Savage Tide -as far as I know- at least, not enough to know it's a curse or something
That is a very common complaint about the AP – what did the first module have to do with the savage tide at all? You aren’t really given any explanation up front about what it is. You don’t even get to observe it first hand, although some exposition about it is coming up. The AP is certainly a ‘slow broiler’ in that regards, and the story takes many modules to unfold (we do have 12 modules to get through!!) which means it will play out across years of real life time.
But yeah, suddenly you just land in the middle of the savage tide with funny mutant people attacking you and exploding into acid and there is no explanation. :D
