Re: 2B - TBG - Part Two: Kraken's Cove

Angati looked in horror as Logan was cut in half she was petrified. Unable to move.

Until the lizard shook its claws, and one of Logan's intestines, slapped Angati's face, slowly sliding down her pristine armor, until it got stuck with her belt, where it got stuck like a hanging dripping sausage.
(* Yeah I know... but I wasn't about to let the DM have all the fun by himself*)

Somehow, and in a detached way, this brought her back into action. The creature was fast and deadly, and she did not want to give it an opportunity of attacking her while casting so she swung her morningstar with force. The movement however, made the intestine continue sliding down her crotch which made her stop the swing on mid air.

When she saw what it was she just flung it to the ground, a tear in her eye as she said "Damn your guts Logan".
Pun intended even if its quite tasteless.

Re: 2B - TBG - Part Two: Kraken's Cove

Celene didn’t have time to react to Logan’s death let alone mourn for him. Something had fallen from overhead and nearly opened her throat. She let out a panicked squeal and tried to back away from the grotesque creature a spell forming on her lips but her feet tangled in silks that had fallen to the floor. ”Damn it!" she hissed before closing her eyes and focusing on her anger; anger at the Logan’s death, at her inability to help her friends, at her wavering faith and she forced it into the dagger held by her attacker turning it cherry red.

Re: 2B - TBG - Part Two: Kraken's Cove

Kibeti rips into the dinosaur (is it ok to call it that now?) and tears out chunks of the creature's thighs and calves, but finds that the creature's skin is blackened and hardened by whatever curse it is suffering under (only 6 & 7 hp of damage instead of 11 & 12). Logan's rapier seemed to do okay, but Kibeti's claws and teeth find it harder going. Likewise, the single shot of Kassius' which hits does minimal damage (only 3 hp damage instead of 8 hp).

Kassius:
For now, he ignores the man who attacked Celene; this dinosaur needed to die.

It's really more like a flying squirrel than a man...

Kassius:
Note: I forgot Divine Vessel for both of us, but both first attacks kind of sucked, so not sure it mattered./

No, the divine vessel won't change the results of those first two attack rolls. Smite does work though - this dino is evil.

Still, the combined attacks have now done enough damage that green acidic blood and pus is pouring out of the creature, surely more than enough to kill it... but it doesn't die. Staggered, but still on its feet, the creature keeps fighting.

OOC: Not only is it 'savage', it is also 'fierce' as in the 'ferocity' special power.

Blinded by her friends guts, Angati misses totally.

Angati:
...slapped Angati's face, slowly sliding down her pristine armor, until it got stuck with her belt, where it got stuck like a hanging dripping sausage.
(* Yeah I know... but I wasn't about to let the DM have all the fun by himself*)

OOC: Oh my god Beni!! XD

Celene manages to both activate her copycat ability and cast a spell while fending off the little rodent. Navesh cried out as the metal grew hotter and hotter but there was no way he would let go of his shinny gutting tool.

"Come on little meatbag!"
he squeals out over the pain of his burning flesh. "Just give me one little mouthful of your tasty pink flesh," he snarls, showing a row of a dozen jagged brown teeth.

20:13, Today: Dungeon Master rolled 10 using 3d4.  Navesh burn damage.

OOC: Ouch! And that does full damage on him.

Just Alohan left to play.

Just to confirm: Kibeti threatened a crit. If the 18 confirmed, that's 11 & 25 (or 6 and 20) damage, not 11 & 12.
Also, Kassius' bow is magic. In case the DR is /magic.
I'd really like this guy to be dead before he gets another turn, so figured I'd confirm these two facts.

Re: 2B - TBG - Part Two: Kraken's Cove

Alohan's eyes widened at Logan's unfortunate demise. 'Again?' he thought inwardly. Of course, the situation hadn't entirely hit him yet. He just watched one of his best friends get ripped asunder by an extinct lizard -it was all too surreal. His pele bubbled to the forefront but he steadied himself and kept it at bay. It would be something he needed for later, one would assume, and wouldn't do unleashing his anger on a damn dinosaur. Closing his eyes for a moment, Alohan avoided looking at Logan's bloody mess.

While his mind attempted to process exactly what had happened, Alohan had taken quite some time to act. The dinosaur had received a pummeling, was bleeding profusely, and threatening to ravage someone else while entering its death throes. He wanted to make sure it was aimed at him, confident he would be able to deal with and tooth and nail that threatened. He waited for an opening and swatted at the beast's snout, hoping to connect and draw it's attention. But still hsi mind was reeling and still he was unable to focus. Even with Celene's divine aid, Alohan felt he whiffed. His companions counted on his physical prowess and all he was effectively doing was waving his arms and legs about like a buffoon.

And his buddy paid the ultimate price for it...
18:28, Today: Alohan Nuari rolled 17,7,12,5 using 1d20+8,1d6+3,1d20+6,1d6+3 ((9,4,6,2)). Flurry of Blows vs Dinosaurs -Attack Damage

18 is not enough to confirm the crit.

Dang, no! I didn't see that Logan's last action was to bewilder Ripclaw, not disorientate him. That means his AC goes down by 2 for Kibeti, so the threat IS confirmed.

Kassius:
Also, Kassius' bow is magic. In case the DR is /magic.

Opps! Then Kassius does 8 points of damage, not 5! Corrected in the damage tracker....

...and that is just enough.

Alohan:
Note: RIP in pieces Logan </SMALL>

:D Yes, rest in pieces little rogue buddy.

Alohan pummels his fists against the dinosaur but can't make contact with anything vulnerable. It doesn't matter anyway, the attacks from the hunter and his companion have been enough to push the creature past the point where even its ferocity can keep it going. The beast spasms in death and bites Angati on the arm (12 hp damage) and then explodes in a spray of green acid and pus which dissolves the nearby silks.

DC15 Acrobatics check for Angati, Kibeti and Alohan or take 1d6 points of acid damage.

I'm assuming this was supposed to be DC 15 reflex save, not acrobatics check...
09:20, Today: Kibeti rolled 13 using 1d20+8. reflex (?) save.
Kibeti was +10 on acrobatics, so he'd actually have made that check.

09:22, Today: Kibeti rolled 4 using 1d6.  acid damage.

Kibeti is unwilling to give up his chew toy, continuing to gnaw on the dinosaur's bone even as it dissolved into acid. Fortunately, the cat's magical protections shielded him from the acid, and it did no significant harm (Damage negated by Kibeti's Acid Resistance 5)

Kassius meanwhile turns to the monkey thing. While dangerous, so far it seemed relatively ineffectual, at least compared with it's companion. Maybe it could be persuaded to stand down and tell the group about whatever the frak was going on here? "If we give you food, will you stop attacking our friend? I have some delicious meat in my sack, but only for nice monkeys that don't attack people with knives."

In case it works: Wild Empathy check!
09:27, Today: Kassius rolled 18 using 1d20+2.  wild empathy.

Re: 2B - TBG - Part Two: Kraken's Cove

Angati thought she had escaped the acid, but she felt a burning close to her left foot that proved otherwise.

Feeling the pain in her foot again she saw she had two options, either attack the man, which was probably not the best route with regards to the damage she could end up doing, but she would at least be in the front line, better armoured than her companions to take the hits... or cast and be a bit more effective...

"Damn i am growing old" she said as she saw the third option just as she started to cast, and again a gauntlet materialised in front of her. The gauntlet missed the thing. But nonchalantly Angati moved next to the monster hoping to pull it's attention towards her, and giving the advantage of flanking to her companions.

The little marsupial pauses for a second, and actually lowers its little knife a fraction. "Nice man help Navesh?" asks the fuzzy raccoon. Now it has slowed down a little so Kassius can get a good look at it, he actually recognises it. It is a 'phanaton', one of the legendary races from the Isle of Dread that he read about as a child, and also one of the creatures featured in Lavinia's mother's journal.

The old Navesh would have definitely stopped and talked - he was about to get his butt kicked after all. But since the savage tide had washed over him, he had been different. The voices in his head were so insistent! And they were screaming at him now. KILL! KILL! KILL! EEEAAAATTT!

"Hail the prince of savage tides!" screams the little critter as it springs at Kassius' throat.

Yeah... He's never gunna be as scary as that dinosaur...

Angati:
"Damn i am growing old" she said as she saw the third option just as she started to cast, and again a gauntlet materialised in front of her. The gauntlet missed the thing. Alohan watched Angati smack the marsupial with a divine weapon, sending the creature stumbling. Alohan didnt hesitate, taking a moment to dive at the creature. Logan's death was currently, pushed out of his mind. He would grieve when the time came. Or would he? He thought of his friend, lying in pieces. Sadness overcame him and he realized the creature he was diving on had slipped away completely. He laid on the ground where the creature was, face first in the dirt, consciously telling himself to get up and fight.

Re: 2B - TBG - Part Two: Kraken's Cove

Angati gives her opponent a good whack with her magic hammer (7 hp), but Alohan, needless to say, misses his grapple by a mile (but no AoO due to improve grapple feat). Celene hits the creature for a whooping 2 points of damage, then the hunter and his cat take their turn.

Kibeti hits with one claw, but the strange flesh of the flying ewok seems almost immune to his blows (7-5=2 hp damage). Kassius has a lot more success and lands two good arrows into it - one right in the head. It's too much for the poor little fellow and he goes into a death frenzy against Angati - the oracle just holds her shield up and blocks him. Then, with one final whispered praise to the Prince of Savage Tides, he promptly explodes.

OOC: DC15 reflex save for Kibeti, Angati and Alohan or take 1d6 acid damge.

The party now find themselves alone in the room of swinging silks - most of the beautiful fabrics are now ruined. They become aware that the awful howls and curses coming from the nearby rooms have NOT stopped. This place still sounds like a demented madhouse.

Logan's corpse(s) lie about ten feet apart, close to the spot where the cursed dinosaur ripped him in two.

Re: 2B - TBG - Part Two: Kraken's Cove

Angati was suddenly hit by a strong case of giggles. As weird as it would seem on a respectable elderly lady such as her, she started giggling uncontrollably. For some reason, everything she saw made her giggle even more.

The little lemur with the arrow stuck in it's eye, made her fall to the floor laughing, unable to remember that it would explode and getting a nice acid shower because of this. Still, the giggles had her, and looking at herself covered in the flesh eating acid, could not make her stop.

Re: 2B - TBG - Part Two: Kraken's Cove

He looked to Kassius questioningly, glancing back to Angati. It was too much for Alohan. Angati's fit of giggles, the death of his friend, and how alone he was feeling began to weigh on his conscious. He was beginning to regret dismissing Remmi -and while it might be long hours before he would even be back in Sasserine- at least he could have clung to the hope of talking with his companion. He felt quite alone in this moment.

Taking care to step around the globs of acid, Alohan found a place amongst the silks to sit. It was a bit away from the others, enough that he hoped none could see the emotions stream down his face.
Reflexive: 09:21, Today: Alohan Nuari rolled 19,1 using 1d20+6,1d6.  Reflex Save, possible Dmg.

Re: 2B - TBG - Part Two: Kraken's Cove

Angati gets sprayed with acid in the face but just giggles her way through the pain. Alohan dodges it.

OOC: Kibeti still needs to make his save, but what with his fantastic reflexes and acid resistance I doubt he will take any damage.

HIT POINTS & MISFORTUNE
Alohan  HP: 39/39 <MF NOT USED>
Logan   DEAD
Celene  HP: 12/21 <MF NOT USED>
Angati  HP: 15/38 <MF NOT USED>
Kassius HP: 27/27 <MF NOT USED>
Kibeti  HP: 23/28 <MF NOT USED>

OOC: You may not proceed until all party members are fully healed. Angati, time to tear the shrink-wrap off that wand of CLW and get busy!

That would be correct
18:13, Today: Kibeti rolled 22,5 using 1d20+8,1d6.  reflex save, potential damage.

Also, Kassius encourages (relative) haste. If we heal/wand up quickly and move on, his gravity bow spell might last until the next battle (duration 3 minutes).
