Re: OOC3

Looking back over our list of (currently) still living enemies, I think it's this:

Rowyn Kellani
Vanthus

Survivors of Santos Family?
Helldrath Kellani

Soller Vark
Ketrana
Diamondback
Hans Aubreck

This first two are the most likely, I think, though I doubt it's Vanthus, since I don't think there's a reason he'd want to sabotage us; he seemed to have fled Shadowshore.

Re: OOC3

Of course, that's assuming the villain is named, and not someone like one of Vark's cronies or someone who has a vendatta against one of us in particular.  (Celene's old temple, for instance, though.  I suppose a temple to Wee Jas might stoop to murder, but I don't think they'd do something like the pearls to do it.)  And for dramatic effect, I'd rule out a nameless baddy who's someone crony.

Don't forget that Eseriel was attempting to obtain the pearl.

That's how we even found the cult of porphory.

Yeah, but she's dead.  (Not that that should exactly stop anyone in D&D, I suppose, but I also discounted Victor St-Demain for the same reason.)

Mr. DM, about where are we?  Is it Week 2? Week 3?  About how many Campaign days until we arrive (or should arrive) on the Isle?

I'm probably the third most recent addition. I can't really recall anytime we have. Well other than some that Logan mentioned.

Keep in mind some of them killed themselves. Well one did...

My apologies all.  Vacation week, took the family to Universal studios in florida and my chances to post were a lot more limited than I thought they would be.   I am getting caught up now.

No probs at all!

Logan:
Looking back over our list of (currently) still living enemies, I think it's this:
<SNIP>

I think you can cross Diamondback off the list. The last that the party saw of her, they'd left her in the care of the CN pirate captain Harliss who said that she'd stay back and hand her over to the authorities. About five minutes later Harliss caught up with them and said that it had 'been taken care of'. I don't think you'll be meeting our anorexic silt walking friend again.

And there is also Viktor Saint-Demain, but he was crippled from the fall when Alohan threw him of the tower and no cleric in town was willing to heal him. He was sent off to the Hellfurnance Mines in a wheelchair.

Logan:

Viktor didn't die! He just became a quadriplegic.

You're at week 1½. There are 3½ more weeks to the Isle of Dread assuming perfect sailing weather.

Which really leaves Rowyn as the prime suspect.  Alohan rejected her offer, and she escaped us with a potion of....gaseous form, I think?

Re: OOC3

In reply to Dungeon Master (msg # 767):

All this is just strengthening my belief (OOC) that it's actually Rowyn. And if she got a potion of Gaseous Form, she can probably get other potions. Invisibility?  Disguise Self?

Is there a permanent way to alter your appearance?  If not, she's probably hiding somewhere on the ship, using a potion every week or so. Would detect magic reveal someone with magical glamour like that?  We could go back to the plan of interrogating everyone person by person, with Logan trying to deceive them into revealing something and Celene trying to pierce the magical veil.

Actually, IC, that might be what I have Logan do. Mingle with all the passengers, dropping something that only a Lotus Dragon would know. Some bit of Shadowshore thieves cant, for instance, watching for a reaction. It'd be kinda crude, like trying to out a Russian spy by saying to suspects "I'm going to gut you" in Russian and seeing who flinches, but I don't have any other immediate ideas.

Nahhh, she's the independent  "F*** you" and move on with her life type, right?...right?
I mean...
We only destroyed her livelihood (criminal as it was), killed most/all of her comrades (criminals though they were), and performed so well for her in bed that she will never be satisfied by any mortal man for the rest of her---Ok that last part was all Alohan, but....

Ohhh, this can't be good.

:-)

But actually, I think Alohan might have a crazy idea....

[Private to GM: Insert Go to Native Island crazy idea.]

Another reason why the Nuari way of uncovered-ness is best. :-)

When game appropriate, Alohan will also suggest ONE of us whom we can trust, should go to the Blue Nixie and check her food stores as well.  But we don't want to give "the bad guy" a chance to plant infection over their if he hasn't had a chance yet.

If the Blue Nixie is clean, it should stay anchored in the bay of whatever port we stop at.  It would do little good to "clean our left hand but dirty our right."

Just trying to think like a wannabe successful seafaring Venture Capitalist.

Re: OOC3

This is kind of an important decision depending on what rolls are needed in the roleplaying thread.

I think it would be a mistake for the only healer to stay in the roleplaying group. Of course Angati is our best chance with diplomacy.

Celene is second to Angati so it would make sense that one of the two of them went into the roleplaying thread.

I guess my point would be for Celene to move into roleplaying and Angati go into combat.

Re: OOC3

I'd be fine going in either group, though I have a slight preference for the combat one.

One idea, though - Logan could be in the RP thread, but is there another (perhaps slightly lower level) NPC I could control in the combat thread?
