Re: OOC3

You could say so.

I like having the world laid out for me. It makes things easier all the way around as GM at least.

I think it also makes it easier on the players as they have a world from which to draw inspiration for their characters.

In my opinion it is quite well done.

I run four games here all of them are set in Golarion.

Re: OOC3

I like Golarion, but I like reading lots of setting books.  (Until I started RPoL, I had a lot of time to read, but not necessarily any time to play.)  I like this summation of the setting: http://i.imgur.com/QtSWsA6.jpg.  I think any mass-market setting seems to be a "kitchen sink" setting, because they have to find a place for every race/class/religion/whatever, with the exception of settings like Dark Sun, which completely omit entire classes for a theme.

Re: OOC3

I agree with John's linked summation. For me, Golarion isnt well done in my opinion/ A shit ton of ideas spread throughout the world so EVERY character concept has a niche. Some parts I draw inspiration from (like Varisia) but other places lack imagination.

In reply to Alohan Nuari (msg # 161):

Yeah, I think Golarion has a ton of fun ideas, but there's no driving principle behind it all.  But there's certainly a lot of great plot hooks. I suppose you could play an entire adventure in one region or even one country and avoid that. I mean, A lot of the Adventure Paths are full 1-20 campaigns, or at least close to it, and they take place in one country. Kingmaker, Carrion Crown, And Rise of the Runelords are the ones that I know. I think Shattered Star is entirely set within Varisia, as is Second Darkness and at least one more.

Wow. How do you manage to run four games? Do they progress faster or slower than this one? How do you manage the battle maps?

Re: OOC3

They are varied in pace. Some faster some slower.

Battle maps are done in maptools.

They look like this generally:

Round
3

CreatureInitiative
Carron22
Duranar15
Solaire10
Spider8
Kraw5Up Next

CreatureDamage
Carron
Duranar3
Solaire
Kraw
Bright12
Spider6

Ok, sorry guys, I have had a sudden trip from friday till yesterday. I have been able to check on the phone at times, but not to write anything.

Sorry for the delay I may have caused, it was unexpected and I didn't have the time to give a heads up.

30 minutes a day? Damn. That is more than I spend on here and I am the DM! What are you spending that time on? Apparently not on actually taking your turn... :P

Me? No, I have learnt that I am at my maximum capacity with running two games on here (this one and my one-on-one with Johannes). So I can't join you guys in the other games :

I am slow... what can I say. I am playing 4 different games now. I am terrible with memory and rules, so half the time I need to be double checking the most basic things.

As for taking my turn now... I didnt think it made sense to post the first when I was the last one on the cue, and Angati cannot even see whats going on... She could however run over everyone crushing them against the wall with her armor and butt as she moves towards the source of noise :)

Huh? Moving through an ally's square costs double movement? No way. I call BS on that one, do you have a reference?

Re: OOC3

SRD:
Friend: You can move through a square occupied by a friendly character, unless you are charging. When you move through a square occupied by a friendly character, that character doesn't provide you with cover.

Opponent: You can't move through a square occupied by an opponent unless the opponent is helpless. You can move through a square occupied by a helpless opponent without penalty. Some creatures, particularly very large ones, may present an obstacle even when helpless. In such cases, each square you move through counts as 2 squares.

Looks incorrect to me.

Re: OOC3

Whoa, Beni posted seconds before I did.. and yea, I am all for the reroll of the init. I think it is the difference between an alive patron and a dead one.

I plan on charging and grappling Boa Gorg. Hopefully it is enough to disrupt the spell casting. Ill probably get bit but Alohan's luck is like a plague. Who knows.

If we can blind one and grapple the other we'll be looking pretty good in this combat.
