I honestly have no idea how survival and being hip with the young people are supposed to be related.

Kassius practically growls with frustration as the crowd of teenagers blocks the group's path. Too big to push aside, and too obnoxious to listen to their shouts, Kassius decides on another tactic. Large dumb herbivorous animals can be induced to stampede when they see a predator. As it turns out, Kibeti can induce the same behavior on a group of teenagers, given a proper setup.

The trick, of course is getting them to stampede out of the way!

07:48, Today: Angati rolled 29 using 1d20+15.  Bluff.

People were piling up and were making passage next to impossible, men and women were blocking the street some drunk as hell others just tipsy and having a great time. The masses were oblivious to elbowing and  pulling out steel on them would be a sure path into catastrophe.

A sudden mischievous idea went by her head, maybe it was the sexual tension of a carnival, but before she could help it, she was shouting as she brandished the pin on her clothes and pushed Alohan in the middle telling the others in the group to make a circle around him "OUT of the way... Give way to the Authorities of Sasserine... before it's too late for your wife's and daughters...", she made a grand gesture as she pointed at Alohan again shouting loudly "Behold THE IMPREGNATOR from the distant islands of Bliss a mere touch of his skin will leave any woman pregnant... grant us passage before Sasserine's next generation looks like him, before you need to answer to your husbands and parents uncomfortable questions. Move !!! half the women from last corner already have cravings, move !!!".

"AND MEN !!!!.... Men be even more careful, the Bliss is so powerful, that you won't be longing for a woman's touch ever again... don't look at him you fool" she said as they advanced "Already feeling butterflies down there ? already feel like licking his bare skin ? oh my... you are doomed !!!"

OOC: it's a drunken partying carnival after all

Re: 2C - TBG - Carnevale!

Alohan couldn't help but grin. Angati's genius was in full display and even he himself began to wonder if he had some mythical seeding power. He caught himself straightening his back, puffing out his chest and tilting his head higher so all could see his naked, greased body in all it's glory. He lifted his arms, held them to their sides, gesturing to the crowd as seductively as he could. It wasn't terribly convincing -actually quite comical- but all Alohan had to do was ride Angati's eloquent display. But he needed to do more. He stole a glance behind him and noticed their time was running out. So, as his first act as resident Impregnator, Alohan leapt onto a table.

The table gave a wobble and the grease that had collected on the bottom of his feet threatened to topple him into the crowd but with the aid of magiks, the Impregnator was looming high above them. He straightened his back, and hollered. "Behold! DE IMPRGNATER!," his broken Sasserinese butchering the word. "Now go! Flee in terror!"

And with a wink and a nod, he bowed.

While I have no doubt that your ample frame would do well to cushion you from most impacts I'm afraid that float careening down the street won't be one of them. Now move out of the way! she screeched.

The large face of the former opera diva turns towards Celene and changes, twisting and contorting until it resembles some sort of snarling demon. Nylaria, or at least what had formerly been the wearing the face of Nylaria hisses at the sorceress - until a second later when a look of recognition flashes across it.

"Oh! Celene! Yes, of course I will clear the way." The torrid lady clears the path and is enveloped by the crowd - before Celene has a chance to decide what to do the young cleric sees a horse bearing right down on her from a side street.

Kassius groans in despair at Avner's appearance, blocking the group from passing. Smirking, he walks up the horse and gooses the poor beast, causing it to rear and through Avner directly into the stall. Kassius and the others move past quickly, letting the angered shout of both man and vendor drift off into the background.

Avner never knows what hits him - or rather his horse - and sent face first into a tub of tomato sauce (Sasserine's favourite corn dog topping). The path is now clear for others to escape.

The jammed wheel pulls the wagon to the left where it careens off the side of the wall of a shop and back into the street - knocking the piece of wood free from the wheel but slowing the float down a bit and buying crucial seconds.

Re: 2C - TBG - Carnevale!

The party does a stupendous job of clearing the street and by the time that the thunder lizard float slams into the side of dwarven spirits the tavern is empty and the street is mostly clear. The huge tub of high concentration spirits splits apart as it is hit, spilling its contents into the street where they are immediately ignited by the fire on the float. The resulting fireball that rises vertically up out of the blaze is impressive...

...and that is when the team of assassins launch their attack. The stiltwalkers that had been impressing the crowd with their fire juggling turn in unison and throw their burning flasks at the party.

Alohan suffers without his mage armour and both flasks hit him for 9hp of damage. Both flasks miss Celene, and instead land to the NE and S of her - she is still hit by the splash damage but her magical fire resistance wards off the damage. Urol is likewise lucky and both of the flasks miss him - he takes 2hp of fire splash damage.

Kassius and Kibeti are not so lucky. Kassius is hit by both flasks and takes 5hp of damage - Kibeti also takes 2hp of splash damage from these attacks. Kibeti is likewise hit by two flasks and takes a further 2hp damage from this - and Kassius is hit by the splash damage (2hp).

The stiltwalkers hang back, probably hoping on their height advantage to save them, as they each prepare a second flask to throw.

Alohan, Kassius and Kibeti release that that they stuff they have been hit with is sticky and they will take another 1d6 damage from each flask next round if they don't spend the entirety of next round scrapping it off.

Angati is for some reason spared from the alchemist's flames, but the reason becomes clear soon enough. A shadow detaches itself from the wall, a feminine form dressed in a full body black form fitting suit with a white skeleton stitched into it...

"Death has a thousand doors to let out life Mistress Lidu..." whispers the shadow into Angati's ear as it strikes. "...and I have saved one just for you..."

The assassin's aim is precise - a stunning blow into the small of the oracle's back that would have left her fatigued for the rest of the battle. But the dull clank of fist against metal followed by a muffed gasp of pain from her assailant is the only result. The figure takes a step back, clutching her stinging hand and cursing in Alphatian. Angati releases that they have met before.

Re: 2C - TBG - Carnevale!

Well the plan was that the street would still be full of people for a couple of rounds, causing it to be difficult terrain for the party but the stiltwalkers would still have full mobility. But now they are just caught out and left looking a little stupid. The stiltwalkers are AC 13, tough 12, flat 11. You can go after their stilts if you wish - you can do this with a sunder weapon action, which replaces a melee attack. Make a normal attack, but you trigger an AoO. If you hit, subtract the hardness value of the stilts (5) from the damage. The stilts have 10 hp.

Edit: Can everyone please post their status blocks in their next post, I don't know if you have all updated your hp totals in your character sheets since levelling...

Re: 2C - TBG - Carnevale!

Alohan was able to narrowly duck one flask but the second caught him on his legs, splashing down searing flames. Almost immediately, the table he was perched upon flared to life causing him to look for a quick exit. He looked about for his assailant finding a man perched on stilts isolated alone in an alley. He snickered. This ambush would not succeed.

Reflexively, Alohan touched the ring on his hand and leapt.

Acrobatics: I want to leap off the table, potentially jump onto a chair and leap at the stiltwalker. I am trying to grapple him and potentially suplex him down until the pavement. I don't know what the rolls will be so I rolled two acrobatics (which are not suprisingly the same dman value).
17:33, Today: Alohan Nuari rolled 17 using 1d20+12 ((5)). crobatics to reach the stilt walker.
17:35, Today: Alohan Nuari rolled 17 using 1d20+12 ((5)). Acrobatics #2 To close the distance.
Here is what I want to do: If them acrobatics checks were enough to reach the stilt walker via catapulting through the air like a luchador, I want to initiate a grapple. The 24 would then be a 25 (additional +1 for improved grapple).
If the acrobatics DOES NOT reach him, I want to run up with my taiaha (provoke the AoO) and try and sunder his stilts.
17:40, Today: Alohan Nuari rolled 24 using 1d20+8 ((16)).

In reply to Alohan Nuari (msg # 33):

Oops, forgot about uncanny dodge. Yes, only one flask hits then.

Alohan launches himself through the air and reaches stiltwalker 2 easily - the startled man stumbles back, trying to avoid the native's grapple and falls off his stilts (2hp damage). The assassin does have enough presence of mind to stop the burning flask of alchemical fire he is holding from smashing though.

Alohan follows up and puts the man in tight headlock.

"Nothing personal buddy," yells stiltwalker #5 as he prepares to throw another flask of alchemical fire at the gnome. "It's just business..."

The little gnome responds by throwing his own bomb. His aim is perfect and the stiltwalking acrobat is consumed in a fiery blaze. The man screams and swirls around and around in an attempt to put out the flames but soon topples over and falls silent.

Kassius:
"Who are you frakking people?"Kassius calls out in surprise and pain as fire rains down on him. Gritting his teeth and ignoring the fire, he draws out his bow and returns fire.

"When you arrive at the gates of the abyss don't forget to tell them that Diamondback's gang sent you!" laughs one of the stiltwalkers. Kassius replies by putting an arrow into the man's leg.

Kibeti succeeds in putting out the flames.

Celene:
Celene's right hand is wreathed in flame that she cast towards the stilt walked to her right. The flames caught the stilt walker flush in the chest and roiled over him.

The man doesn't even have time to gasp before the sorceress' magical flames envelope him and ignite the flask of alchemical fire in his hand. The acrobat becomes a stiltwalking fireball, somehow still on his feet and moving around until he comes into contact with the thatched roof of a nearby shop and sets it on fire. The fire engulfed man plunges through the roof and disappears.

Celene:
Flame Lance says it catches things on fire does this count clothing? Or only paper and other very flammable items?

Only highly flammable items like the decks of ships, thatched roofs, paper, etc. It's isn't alchemical fire and doesn't set people's clothes on fire.

Battlemap at the end of players' round one / start of opponents' round two. Note that I move Kassius and Kibeti 5' as I forgot to mention that in my homerules alchemical fire burns for a couple of rounds and they would have taken some damage if they'd stayed in the same square.

The acrobats redouble their attack. The one that was attacking Alohan, and didn't get tackled, looks over to where the native now has his companion on the ground and is in the process of applying a sleeper hold. He realises that he can't throw another flask of fire into this without hitting his friend so throws it at Angati instead. Despite the blur effect he manages to hit her (6hp and another 1d6 if she doesn't spend a standard action next round to clean it off).

Stiltwalker 2 tries to escape from Alohan's grapple but is totally outclassed and has no chance.

SW3 screams at Celene. "You killed him you frakken freak!!", moves 5' to get a clear shot and then throws a second flask at Celene, but only succeeds in landing the oil in the square NW of her.

SW6 hits Urol with a flask (2hp damage + 1d6 more if don't clean off).

Two more flasks are thrown at Kassius, but he is ready now and both miss. He takes 2hp splash damage and Kibeti takes 1hp spash from the nearby misses. One flask is thrown at Kibeti and misses, Kassius and Kibeti both take 1hp splash damage from it.

The final stiltwalker (SW19) is lining up the perfect shot on Kibeti but Harliss' blades suddenly appear through the front of his legs - the man squeals for a second but the pirate his dispatched him before he hits the ground.

The black clad feminine form calmly steps forward and launches a brutal wave of punches and kicks - some of them connect (5hp damage despite blur)
