Alohan looked down upon the bullywugs with disgust, holding his taiaha at the ready. With a flourish he spun the weapon in an attempt to smack the frogmen in the side yet failed to find purchase. Being assaulted on all sides pulled his attention away and the native couldn't get any wood on him. Despite his never ending poor luck, Alohan persevered, flipping the weapon around and plunging the sharpened jade into it's fleshy bits.

Kassius fires rapidly into the combat, but the racing chaos of the melee forces him to aim high, lest he hit his ally. The shots miss, flying into the back of the room. However, the arrows do cause one of the bullywogs to flinch away. Off balance, 80 pounds of albino claws and teeth slams into the unfortunate foe.

Re: 2D - TBG - Frogs in the House

Urol fires another bolt into BW11 - the creature snarls and moves to continue its attack on Alohan but Kassius' arrows whirl past distracting it. A second later Kibeti is on it, ripping it apart like that monster in 'Stranger Things'.

Alohan takes advantage of the opening in the combat to wave his taiaha around - and eventually he even manages to hit something with it (7 hp). The frogman wavers but stays on its feet.

Harliss spots the opening that she has been waiting for. With a series of flips she moves pass the albino panther than is savaging the bullywug and tries to get behind BW10 (to B2).

08:19, Today: Dungeon Master rolled 19 using 1d20+15.  Harliss acrobatics to avoid AoO DC23.

She slips in the green frogman ichor on the floor and triggers attacks from both bullywugs...

08:21, Today: Dungeon Master rolled 8,6 using 1d20+4,1d20+4.  BW9 & 10 AoO on Harliss.

But their clumsy club blows don't come close to hitting the fleet pirate.

"And down you go," she mutters as she punches her rapier into the spot where BW9's spleen must be. The frog slides off her blade onto the floor.

Liamae looks on helplessly.

OOC: BW9 & BW11 are now dead. Angati and Celene still to go.

Angati saw the opening as the last of the frogman's dropped to the floor from Harliss thrust and moved in to take a front place so as two serve of better cover to her friends behind. She turned then aiming to hit the remaining frogman in the group. The head of the morningstar hit squarely but weakly on it's chest, leaving the marks of the dents of the morningstar marked on the frogman skin.

Celene points her wand into the room and fires another bolt of force at the crossbowmen. She then looked at Liamae and shrugged her shoulders. She was just as useless as the Jade Raven at this point. She wasn't ready to expend any more of her magic as she worried there was a larger threat holding their Patron.

Re: 2D - TBG - Frogs in the House

The last few rounds have taken their toll on the bullywugs - from their perspective one second they were just quietly rifling through Lavinia's dirty laundry hamper and then the next the doors open and they are assaulted by arrows, crossbow bolts, magical motes of energy, carnivorous albino panthers and tumbling pirates. It really just isn't that fair...

Celene looked through the chaotic battle and locked eyes with the crossbowmen. She grasped the symbol of Wee Jas that hung around her neck and began to utter a prayer to the Dark-Eyed Lady. When she finished she called to the Bullywug "Come here friend; I'm in need of your help."

Celene concentrates and tries to bend the weak minded frogman to her will...

20:36, Today: Dungeon Master rolled 18 using 1d20-1.  BW12 will save vs DC14.

Surprisingly the creature resists. Angati shakes her head, multiple other outcomes flashing past her eyes...

20:36, Today: Dungeon Master rolled 14 using 1d20-1.  Reroll of will save.

...until she concedes defeat with a slump of her shoulders. This bullywug, the one smart enough to figure out a crossbow is apparently different from the rest and not easy to compel.

OOC: Or just really, really lucky.

OOC: So let's say that BW12 only opened the northern side of the double door, leaving the southern one closed and available for Alohan to bash through.

OOC: Why are there so many double doors in D&D but so few in real life? We should bring back the double door as a fashion statement.

Alohan triggers an AoO from BW9 as he dashes past...

08:20, Today: Dungeon Master rolled 5 using 1d20+4.  AoO on ALohan.

...but the creature's clumsy attempts to hit him are laughable. In fact, Captain Harliss does indeed give a chuckle.

Alohan Nuari:
With a crash, he barged in with both hands on his weapon and swinging for the fences.

OOC: Fences? Oh, baseball? To people still play that?

Alohan makes a lot of noise and definitely gets the door open, but doesn't manage to hit BW12.

OOC: Alohan moves to Z2. He doesn't trigger an AoO from BW12 as it is armed with a missile weapon.

Re: 2D - TBG - Frogs in the House

Kibeti does some more damage on his opponent but the bullywug remains standing.

OOC: Technically there is still Urol's turn to go in this round but I am calling time on this combat.

Both outnumbered and outclassed, the remaining two frogmen are quickly dispatched without any further damage being inflicted on the party. Now that the combat is stilled the characters are more aware of their surroundings. Half of them are still out on the balcony over looking the city, the wind and rain ripping at their clothes. The other half are in the laundry, the green blood of the bullywugs mixing with the soapy water that was splashed on the floor during the combat.

Urol notices the nice crossbow that BW12 was using. The big room on the other side of the wash room has large racks of weapons on all the walls and more weapons spread over the training mats on the floor, but the bullywug evidently had an eye of quality as the weapon he selected was the cream of the crop.

OOC: The characters may find any standard weapon from the players' handbook if they wish - Liamae takes a couple of extra daggers. The crossbow is a +1 repeating crossbow. The module doesn't specify if the weapon is a heavy or light version, so I'll let John decide that, and we can also make it a normal +1 crossbow rather than a repeating version if John can't be bothered with the bookkeeping. This weapon also technically belongs to Lavinia so it might end up being a loan rather than 'treasure' as such.

A sound of footsteps on the stairs leading up from the ground floor interrupts the party's stock-take. These aren't the footsteps of the flipper-ed feet of more bullywugs, but the heavy footfalls of booted feet. Up the stairs walks the armored form of a stocky dwarf in green clothes.

"Kaskus!" exclaims Liamae. "You're alive!" The sorceress rushes to embrace the fellow Jade Raven and the dwarf winces.

"Careful lass, I've spent the last half hour lying in a pool of my own blood and vomit downstairs. Thought I was a gonna but then for some reason my wounds just healed and I woke up. It was the strangest thing..."

OOC: In fact the dwarven druid had made it to a secret room on the ground floor just immediately to the NE of where the party fought the huntress BW with the two hand-axes. Once in this room he failed a series of saves and ended up unconscious at -7 hp. Then Celene channeled twice for a total of 8 hp of healing RIGHT ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SECRET ROOM.

Sigh. I guess that technically counts as 'saving' another Jade Raven although you guys don't really deserve it. More luck than skill and all that. ;)

Alohan 10 hp damage
Celene 4 hp damage
Kassius 8 hp damage
Harliss 10 hp damage
Liamae is fully healed and so is Kaskus, since he raided the secret room and found the healing potions in there after Celene brought him back to 1 hp.

Angati cast her last Lesser Restoration on Harliss... it was more important than the injuries, and she wanted to be sure that the disease didn't end up changing the pirate... it was not much but.. she hoped it would last until they bought the two potions they needed.

Then she proceeded to heal Alohan and Harliss as they had been the ones most mistreated.

08:32, Today: Angati rolled 10 using 1d8+4.  Harliss.

I am out of spells for the day... the rest will need to wait or go with Celenes channeling or something.
