Re: 2.7 - Celene and the House of Porphyry

Alohan had no qualms handing over the weapon. He was equally deadly with his hands and feet if not a touch less lethal. He was in the process of doing so when Celene began her incantation. Before he even had a chance to react, a scuff was breaking out in the elevator.

Regardless, he continued his plan and tossed his weapon at the third bruiser -the one whom otherwise hasn't made an action. The rather large for an enclosed elevator, quarter-quarter staff, sailed horizontally into the man forcing him back out of sheer weight of the blow while he used the moment to throw his elbow into the bruiser clutching Celene. He knew he hit the man in the head -on the soft spot at the base of the neck- and used the man's sudden moment of disorientation to spin him around. With the thug facing Alohan, dazed but alert, the Pearl Islander headed butted him square in the face. The resounding creack alerted all in the elevator to know- Alohan had done some damage*.
typical Sasserine white girl lumps all us dark skins together.
Ready: Keep in mind, IF the Charm is an action to cast, I imagine it might still take control of the leader while the guy scruffing up Celene may still be able to act and force her mouth closed. Anyway, I will ignore the potentially charmed leader, throw the taiaha to the third guy (non threateningly [like in the movies causing them to reel back]) and strike out against the bruiser holding Celene.
10:14, Today: Alohan Nuari rolled 17,27,8,5 using 1d20+7,1d20+7,1d6+2,1d6+2 ((10,20,6,3)) FoB: Normal, Stunning Fist.
10:15, Today: Alohan Nuari rolled 12 using 1d20+7 ((5)), Crit Confirm.

Standard Action: FoB the guy holding Celene- first strike is normal (headbutt the neck shot) then the second strike(headbutt) (potential crit) is a stunning fist.
DC 12( or was it 13?) Con save or be stunned.
Move Action:
Free/Swift Action:

HP:  45/45  AC: 15  CMD: 21  | 23 vs grapple Saves: +8/+6/+1
Rage: 8  |  8  Stunning Fist: 0  |  1  Note: ALL NON LETHAL OF COURSE :D

Re: 2.7 - Celene and the House of Porphyry

Celene dislodged from her attacker by Alohan she tried to think of a quick way out of this situation. She has no ability to fight these men and while she had seen Alohan do many great things she was worried about him taking on three men by himself. She spread her hands out in front of her kindling flames at the tips of her fingers. Purple smoke rose into the elevator and pooled along the ceiling ”I might have little choice but to roast you alive. This elevator will be a deathtrap and the shaft will act like a chimney. The fire will spread and spread quickly. I don’t know the layout of your basement but I am assuming this might be her only way out. She’ll perish along with all of us. Is that a risk your willing to take.” Celene’s eyes flashed purple once more ”My life has just been turned upside down. I don’t have much to live for and besides I might even survive it.” she bluffed.

I don't have much of a way to help. Everything I can do is fire based or make them fall on the ground but I can't be sure that won't effect us. How big is the elevator?

Alohan Nuari:

OOC: Yeah, I reakon. Celene, Alohan is from the Nuari people who populate the Pearl Islands to the north of Sasserine. Since he is a member of the royal family he has his people's name as his family name.

Alohan Nuari:
Keep in mind, IF the Charm is an action to cast, I imagine it might still take control of the leader while the guy scruffing up Celene may still be able to act and force her mouth closed.

OOC: I totally screwed up the charm person thing - of course it only takes a standard action to cast charm person otherwise what would the point of it be? I got it mixed up with sleep.

But anyway, my post stands. The leader interrupts the spell casting.

Alohan Nuari:
Anyway, I will ignore the potentially charmed leader, throw the taiaha to the third guy (non threateningly [like in the movies causing them to reel back]) and strike out against the bruiser holding Celene.

OOC: NB: The leader was joined in the elevator by three additional bad guys meaning there are four of them in total.

The target of Alohan's throw reels back as the taiaha is flung at his head. Then the native warrior pulls the leader off Celene and very quickly stuns him with a cracking headbutt to the bridge of the man's nose.

Alohan Nuari:
10:14, Today: Alohan Nuari rolled 17,27,8,5 using 1d20+7,1d20+7,1d6+2,1d6+2 ((10,20,6,3)) FoB: Normal, Stunning Fist.
10:15, Today: Alohan Nuari rolled 12 using 1d20+7 ((5)), Crit Confirm.

OOC: Dude, what the heck is all this? We're not rolling dice anymore. Just tell me what happens.

Celene:
Purple smoke rose into the elevator and pooled along the ceiling ”I might have little choice but to roast you alive. This elevator will be a deathtrap and the shaft will act like a chimney. The fire will spread and spread quickly. I don’t know the layout of your basement but I am assuming this might be her only way out. She’ll perish along with all of us. Is that a risk your willing to take.” Celene’s eyes flashed purple once more ”My life has just been turned upside down. I don’t have much to live for and besides I might even survive it.” she bluffed.

The leader cradled his busted nose in one hand while looking up at Celene balefully. He takes in her determined demener and the purple flames now writhing up around her wrists. He holds out his free hand, indicating for his men to stay back.

"Alright then miss," he says, glowering at her. "Let's just get down to the bottom then, shall we? And see what happens..."

I don't have much of a way to help. Everything I can do is fire based or make them fall on the ground but I can't be sure that won't effect us. How big is the elevator?</quote>

OOC: The elevator is 10'x10' and therefore very cramped with six people in it. The floor is made of wood - there are no walls other than the walls of the shaft and not ceiling either... it is possible to look back up the shaft at the entry door.

The elevator continues its slow shuddering decent while Celene and Alohan continue their face off against the four stagehands. The leader looks Alohan up and down as he feels his nose, trying to figure out if it is broken or not. The half-orc shakes the blood off his hand in disgust. "You ain't in no dance troop," he says, sneering at the Pearl Islander.

Behind the man the rock face of the shaft changes from the dull, grey stone that the backstage area was constructed off to a hard purple rock. Celene sees the line where the rock changes slowly creep up as they continue downwards in the squeaky contraption, feeling uneasy as the rough men continue to stare at them. They must be at least 40' before the surface now, and when the purple rock is about 10' above them the elevator finally stops at the bottom.

The leader of the men tenses, poised to act.

Re: 2.7 - Celene and the House of Porphyry

Celene steps back quickly drawing in her power. She thrusts her hands forward and a cloud of glittering purple particles envelopes the half-orc band. Celene reaches forward when she is done and grabs at Alohan's shoulder not wanting him to wade in until the particles had cleared. The purple motes sought out the half-orcs eyes blinding them and covering their skin.

Glitterdust. Hopefully encompassing them all.

Re: 2.7 - Celene and the House of Porphyry

The motes clog the four men's eyes, causing them to yell out and curse. Alohan takes the opportunity to push the metal door open, revealing a 50' long corridor of violet stone on the other side. The way is lit by torches that give off no smoke, and ends at a set of double doors.

"Ahh! After them!" yells the leader. "It's our balls on the chopping block if we don't stop them." All four men draw small knives or knuckle dusters and step forward, gropping at the walls of the elevator.

The two of them manage to flick the switch and then shove the door closed. The elvator begins its slow crawl back up to the ground floor with the men inside it cursing and kicking at the steel door.

Celene and Alohan are left alone in the corridor with the double doors at the far end.

Re: 2.7 - Celene and the House of Porphyry

Alohan rubs his head in relief, pushing against his skull where he impacted the thug. He closed his eyes and exhaled out the nose, thankful they had just escaped what may have been a deadly fight. Needlessly deadly. He turned to Celene, admiring her idea. "Dat was smart," was all he managed, turning to look down the far hall. Not waiting for the command, Alohan crept forward, stepping lightly but still staying alert for any trip wires, depression plates, or anything else that may give their position away. When it was safe (assumingly) he turned to wave Celene over.

OOC: This is free form role play. You only left it there if you think your character left it there. Did Alohan leave it there?

Alohan leads the way down the corridor, doing his best to watch for any sort of trap. This proves to be difficult because: 1) He has never bothered to learn how Logan checks for traps. 2) The spluttering lights provides only dim illumination and throw up wandering shadows across the violet walls providing plenty of hiding places for traps. 3) He is very aware that once the elevator finishes its slow journey to the top those guys will be coming straight back down... probably with reinforcements.

But that said, they make it to the double doors without knowingly setting any traps off. Alohan pretends to listen for noise at the doors - hears nothing - and carefully opens one of them.

They are both surprised by the size of the room on the other side. They are in a 80' by 40' roughly semi-circular room made out of the same porphyry rock. The huge chamber is lit with numerous violet crystal chandeliers that glow dimly, coving the whole room in a purple haze. The walls are covered with purple and red curtains, and a large collection of erotic paintings. Similarly themed statues stand in various places along the walls, and a set of four large pools dominate the edges of the room. Most of the centre of the room is taken up with low tables and purple couches.

Despite the opulent spender of the room it does not feel welcoming. An unpleasant musty smell of dirt and sex reaches their nostrils, and even from the doorway they can see that the couches are covered in disguising looking stains.

The room seems to be empty and a single door against the far wall leads out.

Alohan crinkles his nose at the musty, sex filled air as they stumble into a room that looks to be one where some serious debauchery takes place. Normally, Alohan would be all for it but it would seem this debauchery was connected to some kind of demonlord. That wasn't his forte.

As Celene slinked ahead, Alohan cautiously entered the room with taiaha at the ready. He gave the couches and sexual implement a wide berth but kept his eye on them in case they came alive to eat him. "What de hell is going on in dis place..." he mumbled to himself. "Wasn't dis being an opera house?"

Celene nodded "It is. The auditorium is upstairs. I didn't know this area existed before today. Nor did I have any inkling that Nylaria was somehow involved in all of this." she whispered to Alohan "If I had I would have let her be trampled to death during the Carnavale." she said under her breath.

Re: 2.7 - Celene and the House of Porphyry

OOC: Indeed, Celene is no engineer but she is pretty certain that they are now directly underneath the main part of the opera house.

The sorceress strides through the dimly lit room, confident that this is an extremely unlikely place to find a trap, Alohan close behind her. When they reach the door at the far end of the room, Celene takes a turn listening at the door. This time there is something to be heard. A heated conversation is taking place on the other side of the door, and the young cleric recognises the voices of both of the participants…

“Bends wills to her was the worst mistake this sisterhood ever made! Forget her, dear sister, now is the time for us to take fate into our own hands and to act with confidence.”

Nylaria’s voice is recognisable but sounds very different to the bubbly, and rather silly lady that offered Celene chocolates when they first met up in the opera house 30’ feet above them. Her voice has more of the edge that Celene felt when Nylaria hissed at her in the carnevalé parade.

“That is an unfortunate decision Eseriel… for you at least.” Then there comes such a loud bang from the room that the door that Celene is listening at actually gets pushed out against its hinges. This is followed by the sound of combat.

Meanwhile, the double doors at the other end of the room are flung open. Ten rough looking men stand in the doorway, led by the scruffy half-orc who’s nose Alohan broke. He yells in anger, draws a sword and then points at them. “KILL THEM!” he bellows.

Yes, well, I did always wonder what the final part of the 'almost-single-handed-assault-on-the-enemy-base' plan was going to look like...

Celene:

“Bends wills to her was the worst mistake this sisterhood ever made! Forget her, dear sister, now is the time for us to take fate into our own hands and to act with confidence.”

That isn't a typo, she uses those exact words "Bends-wills-to-her". She says the words together like they are a name.
