2.7 - Celene and the House of Porphyry
OOC: The following takes place about a week after the assault on the Vanderboren mansion.
The party spend the next week trying to track down the dhow with magenta sails that belongs to the House of Porphyry. Even with the help of 'Young Master Cadogan', the grandson of the harbourmaster himself, this proves to be quite difficult. For sure, it helps a lot that Kassius has unrestricted access to the ship register that records the ownership of every decently sized vessel in Sasserine. The 'register' isn't a single book, but rather a large office filed with filing cabinets and documents strewn over several tables. The previous harbourmaster (the one who choked to death on his own manhood after the 'Lotus Lady' got to him) did not keep the documents in good order, so it takes many hours to make a list of all the dhows in Sasserine - there are about 100.
The register obviously does not include information on what sails the ships have, so then the fun bit begins. Splitting the list up by district the party begin painstakingly investigating every one individually.
The big risk is that the incriminating purple sail would be stowed below deck, but this proves not to be the case. Celene finds the dhow tucked away in a small wharf in the noble district on the fifth day of their inquiry - the vessel in question is called "The Lost Diva" and has the distinctive purple sails furled on its mast.
Celene is shocked when she checks down the list and finds the name of the owner - Magnus Eseriel, second cleric of the temple of Wee Jas... Celene's mentor since childhood...
