Angati hits the deck, avoiding some of the fire but loosing focus on her spell.

Celene gets hit by the full blast - although at least her fire resistance helps a bit. She creates an interdimensional pit under three of her opponents.

OOC: I will roll the necessary reflex saves tonight when I have the module in front of me.

OOC: Also, I screwed up when I said that Kassius and Kibeti were due to move. They of course took their actions earlier in the round -> I still need an AoO from Kibeti and a reflex save from Kassius though.

The snake man called V'sesslin jumps clear of the opening pit with inhuman grace. The two savage pirates fall in and both expire from the fall. V'sesslin avoids the acid that explodes out of the two corpses.

Back on the Blue Nixie, Liamae considers her options. She has a broken arm and that madman demon Vanthus was bearing down on her probably meaning that his next attack would kill her. She could make a run for it, dive overboard and leave everyone to their fates... but that really wasn't her style. The sorceress moved back a few feet (5' actually) and began casting her spell.

"No, Liamae! Get the hell away from that maniac!" screamed Tolin as he continued to fend off the attacks from the dino he was facing.

"Look after Kaskus and Zan for me big brother," yells Liamae back. "You know they can't tie their own shoelaces without help!" She screams as she channels another huge thunderbolt down from the sky and rips it along the surface of the decking...

...it was much smaller than the last one, but at least 5 of the 6 targets were slowed, making it harder for them to avoid the electrical energy.

Dinos B, D & E shudder as the damage takes them beyond what their bodies' should have been able to withstand... and then they continue fighting, abet at a slower pace. OOC: Say hello to Ferocity - they fight on although they gain the staggered condition. As they pretty much had this from being slowed anyway (except Dino D) there isn't too much difference. Their constitution scores are 23 in case you're all wondering. :)

"Poor choice, little mage," growls Vanthus as he advances with both his longsword and sickle raised and ready to strike.

Logan stabs dino B throw the heart. The creature finally succumbs to the damage and Logan is able to avoid the usual death convulsions. The creature explodes into an acid spray which falls on Kinstal, Logan and Alohan. The native barbarian curses as he gets the worse part of the spray all over him (6hp damage).

"Lady Lotus I know that you swore you would get revenge on them or die trying but..."

"...we need to get off this ship and get to the beach as soon as possible!" answers Rowyn, still under the influence of Vanthus' influence spell.

"...well... okay then," says Sheton. The group moves off towards one of the row boats on the side of the 'Nixie.

OOC: Alas poor Urol, we knew him well.
I don't know!  I've never had this many deaths in D&D/PF.  Of course, this is my first time actually playing rogues/skillful characters.  I've usually stuck to either spellcasters or full BAB - armor wearing dudes, and haven't had to thread this needle of needing to be in melee but having to be careful about it.

Edit:  Also, made Logan's reflex save.  Though now I realize he can't actually fail it.  Well, unless I rolled a 1.

Kassius ducks down as the fireball passes over him, dodging the worst of the heat. Then the half-orc stands back up. He enters into an almost meditative stance. He ignores the smell of charred flesh, both his own and others. He ignores the shouts of battles, the screams of pain. The mage must die, and Kassius can feel the path his arrows must take. He looses, once and then again, and they fly through the air slamming into the lizard-like creature.

Then, feeling his body starting to weaken, he concentrates, increasing his health at the expense of quickness.


Kibeti meanwhile shifts to flank the dino, and attacks it repeatedly only stopping when the dinosaur's twisted body is in pieces on the deck and acid spurts everywhere. The acid lands on the cat, but sloughs off Kibeti's magically tough fur without harm.

OOC: I wouldn't feel too bad, the difficulty level on this module series is sky high as we have discussed before. The situation you guys found yourselves in when battling the zombie pirates in the tunnels below Parrot Island should have been a TPK by all rights, so only loosing Logan was a pretty good outcome. And then you chanced an extra round with 'Ripclaw' in Kraken's Cove and then the dino rolled well.

Urol was in trouble from the moment that thunder lizard made it to the front of the Sea Wyvern - the little gnome wasn't a hand to hand fighter and there wasn't much he could do.



OOC: Roger that.

Kassius' next two arrows slam home with precision. OOC: 65 damage in total... impressive... V'sesslin gasps and is thrown back onto the decking, the green blood splurting out of his chest slowly stopping...

...life returns to his eyes and he claws himself back up onto his feet, a despairing look fixed on his face. He was a dead man (snake?) now and he knew it, but at least he could take some more of these guys out with him.

OOC: Artistic impression of false life. Okay Beni, your move.

Oh, and Kibeti does indeed kill dino A and due to his new scales (?!) doesn't need to worry about the acid. Kibeti avoids the creature's death throes bit attack.

OOC: I need ANOTHER DC15 reflex save from Kinstal or Logan or take 1d6 acid damage.

At least the battlemap is getting simpler as people/things get killed.

Things were getting messy all around, looking around her shoulder Angati saw V'sesslin still standing after the arrows that Kassius had put in him... still, there was little that she could do to attack him from this distance, so, turning back sadly towards poor Urol's smoking corpse, she decided she had to deal with the standing lizard in front of them.

She cast "Spiritual Weapon" and a shimmering gauntlet looking akin to a cestus now, appeared in front of her, attacking the lizard connecting squarely with the lizard. Then she took a step forward so that it would have a harder time hitting her friends.

V'sesslin moves back a few feet (away from the pit) and then casts his next spell and electrical energy arcs out of the sky and rips across the deck of the Blue Nixie, catching Kinstal, Logan, Alohan, Kaskus and Tolin in its track.

Alohan takes the full force (34 hp), Kaskus and Tolin take half (17 hp).

OOC: Kinstal and Logan please make a DC19 reflex save to take half damage (17 hp), otherwise you take the full (34 hp).

Vanthus advances on the hapless Liamae and turns into a tornado of longsword, sickle and tail attacks. With a cry the sorceress is swept to the ground, unconscious. (40 hp damage, drops her down to -12. Her conc is 13).

Dino C ducks under Alohan's guard and bites him (9 hp - just 3 rage hp remaining!). The barbarian contracts savage fever, although he is unlikely to live long enough to suffer from it.

Dino D hits Kaskus (7 hp). The dwarf avoids savage fever... but fall down unconscious (-6 hp).

Dino E hits Tolin (7 hp). The ranger cries out as the blow knocks him to the ground. (Down to -1 hp).

Dino F unleashes a furious assault on Angati. Biting, claws, talon, talon... all miss.

Celene moved forward towards the bow of the ship staying out of reach of the savage dinosaur there. She focused the power in her blood behind the spell-caster on the other vessel. A gout of purplish water rammed into the snake man from behind attempting to throw him into the pit that she had opened in front of him. The water hit like a hammer into the sorcerers back tossing him forward.

Kinstal dodges and somehow manages to avoid the spray of acid but cannot avoid the arcs of electricity from V'sesslin's spell.  Staggering and barely managing to stay up Kinstal grabs some rope and attempts to quickly tie up Lavinia.

Celene's blast catches the sorcerer totally flat-footed and the snake man is drive across the deck of the pirate ship by the jet of water. He stumbles over the lip of the pit and lands badly in a crumpled heap at the bottom, unconscious.

"A pit? Come on. You weren't worth half what I paid for you, you ridiculous serpant," screams out Vanths, but V'sesslin isn't in a position to reply.

Kinstal gets electrocuted (a lot!) and then ties Lavinia up.

"Thank you!" whispers Lavinia.

Vanthus' red eyes glow. "Untie her you fiend! Lavinia, don't worry, I am coming my sister!"

OOC: Moving Logan & Alohan on autopilot

Logan attacks dino C and hits with his short sword (confirmed crit, but still only 9 hp damage.) Alohan is on his last legs, but joins the rogue in attacking dino C (8hp damage). This creature is close to death now.

Amarlide lashes a rope around the helm and starts coming forward to join those at the prow of the Sea Wyvern.

17:52, Today: Dungeon Master rolled 31 using 1d20+12.  Logan DC19 reflex save vs Lightning.
Logan makes his reflex save and takes no damage thanks to evasion. He also makes his reflex save against the acid from dino X exploding.
