:D :D My buddy Johannes. To be fair, I told him that he'd never need to roll initiative and then changed the rules on him :D

I know who made it. Was just being a PITA. I just can't believe I don't have a Dex bonus. It's tough to work a multiclass character that doesn't synergize with a point buy.

Tough to roleplay when I'm dead. :)

I the end I love the character and the arc she's had. Even moving away from the cleric levels was cool.

Kassius' ranged attacks get worse from enlarge person (penalty to hit from size+dex, no bonus damage from size, although the str bonus helps damage a little), although if forced into melee it would help. Overall would decline, but thanks for the offer

Re: 3F - SWW - Part Five: Journey's End

Under the mountain of kelp the party find a ship that is in the final stages of being totally dissolved into the Sargasso. They pass by soggy bones mingled with broken chests under sagging beams of sodden wood. Fronds of weed protrude from between boards and wriggle at the party, hindering their progress and covering them with a grimmy film.

The party sees nothing that looks like it could be the heart of Journey's End until they finally reach the lowest level of the ship. In the final aft hold, deep down below the surface of the weed they come across a 100' deep pit lined with young vine horrors - walls of screaming seedlings and writhing adolescents waiting to mature - the noise and stench is horrendous. At the bottom of this 'maw' into chaos, at the shaft's deepest point, is a swill of water and decay and amongst THAT is a collection of gross pulsating shapes. Strange pustules of purple and red, almost popping with the white fluid inside them, corrupted, bloated neon green flower buds... Surely one of these is the heart of all this, but which one?

The wall of the hold cracks open and a wave of putrid kelp spews inside. The middle of this dislocated sack of foul smelling vegetation collects itself and stands into a pillar of rotting seaweed 20' tall with gnashing teeth and evil red eyes on all sides. It is wreathed in screaming humanoid weeds that struggle to free themselves from the foul flesh.

The beast opens its mouth and half screams, half speaks to Angati. "So. He has sent another." The terrible figure pats its distended belly which is bathed in a foul green mucas and hangs out from its vaguely humaniod form.

"I will slay you and absorb you like all the rest."
The pyramidical tower of rot charges at the oracle and screams into her brain. The children handing form her body scream as well - the sound nearly splits their ear drums.

OOC: Angati. You are conducting a battle of wills at the same time as you conduct this battle of might. Until the mother-of-all is killed you may not use your fortune or mis-fortune powers...  On the other hand, neither can this monster use these powers on you and your friends! Oh yes, the mother-of-all is another dual cursed oracle, her curse was just a little more... severe than yours.

OOC: Spellcasters! Listen up! Due to the screaming young clinging to the body of this terrible creature, it is difficult to focus on your spellcasting due to the cacophony of wailing that they are making. When casting a spell you must pass a DC15 + 1 per spell level concentration check or lose the spell.

OOC: To hit and destroy the targets at the bottom of the 'maw' requires a successful hit with a silver weapon with the poison on it. The targets are at the bottom of the 100' pit and are AC 15. Any successful hit destroys them. To begin with there are 7 of these targets (due to you guys failing 7 times in the skill challenge), and each time you hit one please roll to see if you've selected the correct one, i.e. start with a 1d7, then down to 1d6, always successful if you roll a '1'.

Until the 'heart' is hit, the mother-of-all has DR 10 / silver weapon with poison. After the heart is destroyed, this DR is removed. You need to kill the mother-of-all to win.

OOC: The party springs into action - only Celene is slow to act. She is still caught up admiring her new sexy midget curves.

Re: 3F - SWW - Part Five: Journey's End

Logan shouts to Kassius: "Can you take out those hearts while I get to work on the Mother?  Unless anyone knows a way to get me down there?"

Logan concentrates, his boots and shirt briefly glowing as he moves to flank the creature, then explodes into a burst of action, his poisoned dagger sinking into the spongy mass of vines.

Use Runner's Shirt, Move around to Flank Mother with Angati
Activate Boots of Speed, Gain Haste
Full Attack vs Mother.  Forgot the flanking bonus on the rolls.  Those both hit for 37 damage.
Additional Effect: Debilitating Injury.  Mother is -2 AC, -4 vs Logan

14:45, Today: Logan rolled 14 using 1d20+10.  Attack 2.
14:45, Today: Logan rolled 26 using 1d20+10.  Attack.

Meanwhile, Kinstal steps up to battle the Mother, does his best to injure her despite his lack of a silver weapon, sacrificing accuracy for massive blows with his warhammer.  Adjacent to Alohan and Logan, Kinstal prepares to aid his allies if they are attacked.

5' Step forward, Power Attack with Warhammer.  2 Hits, only 2 damage after DR.
Just in case, if Alohan or Logan are attacked, Kinstal will use Bodyguard to attempt to improve their AC by 2 (he has two AoO, in any case)  Both attempts are technically successfully; though I'm not sure if 1's auto-fail on an aid another roll, since it's not actually an attack.

HP: 78/78 AC: 23/14/21 F9 R3 W2

Kassius nods at Logan. "Agreed. I'll try and take out the heart, you take down the Mother. Kibeti, go with him!" He urges, and Kibeti leaps forward into the fray. Kassius meanwhile spins, and fires arrows down the gaping maw. The first arrow splits through the center of a red pustule, spraying gore everywhere. The second follows the first, destroying it as well. Still, neither seem to have any significant effect, and Kassius reaches for another arrow to continue firing.

Kibeti charges into the fight, but misses.

Re: 3F - SWW - Part Five: Journey's End

Alohan roars and swings wildly at the gargantuan kelp, carving off big pieces of it with his taiaha... it accomplishes very little (3 hp damage total).

Logan skirts around the outside of the combat in order to get to one side and flank the beast. He is surprised as the mother-of-all lashes out with a barbed claw on the end of an outrageously long appendage (OOC: This thing has a 15' reach with its claws!). But manages to jump over the attack. He slides into the flank and prepares to backstab this monster as he has so many others...

...this time he is not just surprised, he is astonished. This creature truly does have eyes in the back of its head and these focus on him. "I SEE YOU!" snarls the creature as it moves to block the flanking attack. The thief still hits with his poisoned, silver dagger, but does far less damage (only 3hp total) and doesn't cripple the monster.

19:22, Today: Dungeon Master rolled 2,1 using 1d4,1d4.  Logan damage with no flank.

OOC: Don't blame me, it is a feat called 'All-Around Vision' meaning this monster can't be flanked... ever.

Kinstal steps forward and rains down blows that just bounce off the blubbery kelp (2 hp). He makes sure to keep an eye out and help Alohan and Logan defend if necessary.

Kibeti charges the monster and misses.

Kassius:
Does the (threatened) crit accomplish anything?

OOC: Just gets you the award for overkill shot of the day.

Kassius picks out to spots at the bottom of the 'maw' and hits them both. But apparently his knowledge of strange fungal biology is not as great as Urol and he hasn't picked out a critical point.

Logan:
"Unless anyone knows a way to get me down there?"

OOC: You can just jump down. It is only 100' and there is water at the bottom.

Re: 3F - SWW - Part Five: Journey's End

The mother-of-all focuses all of its attacks on Angati. The oracle almost disappears under a hail of bites and kelp claws, and then reappears with her arm stuck in the jaws off the horrific beast. Angati tears her arm free, but looses a lot of flesh as well.

19:33, Today: Dungeon Master rolled 8 using 1d100.  Time flicker roll.
OOC: Huh! First time ever!

Angati blurs for a second and then appears in a spot slightly to one side of where she was before... and her arm is uninjured. The kelp monster ROARS in anger. "YOU WILL GIVE ME YOUR FLESH!" it screams.

The bulkhead behind Kassius cracks open and a squirling swarm of rotting kelp bursts through. It barely takes form as a vine horror before it has started bashing the hunter and he is taking totally unaware by the attack (6 hp damage).

OOC: So, the vine horrors can spawn on any space adjacent to the walls of the ship and get a surprise attack if a character is within reach.

START OF CHARACTERS' ROUND TWO

Tiny Celene backs away from giant kelp monster. She backs away a few feat and calls fire around her arms. Then sends a lance of flame towards the monster testing its defenses against arcane fire. The fire lances up towards the creatures shoulders to avoid here allies down on the ground. The fire smashes into the creature and blooms out across the vegetation before dying away.

OOC: Remember, it has a 15' reach so its threat zone is huge. If you do anything that triggers an AoO within that zone it is going to take a free attack... and it gets a couple of AoO's each round.
