AngryJohn sat glumly in the hard chair and looked around the little room with despair. The interrogation room at the police station was everything he'd expect of such a place. One shoddy desk, a few wooden chairs and not much else. The door to the room was flung open and officer DesertNomad strode in.

"You're screwed this time AngryJohn!" barked the policeman. "This time you went too far. We got yet another dead character in your party and as usual you were right there in the thick of it."

The DM brought his face right up close to the hapless player's face. "What did that Alohan guy ever do to you, huh? Was he just in the wrong place at the wrong time? Did ya get bored? Did ya run out in front like you always do?"

AngryJohn's face burned in indignation. "What the hell are you talking about? I wasn't even his player at the time. You're so full of..."

The DM brought his fist down on the table. "Shut the hell up you worm! I GOT YOU THIS TIME. You understand me. That character is going down!"

The door opened again, and two men in matching tailored pin-striped suits entered. The DM stared at them in amazement. "GralphidB & fmu78. What are you two doing here?"

The two men ignored him. "Mister AngryJohn, please do not say another word. We are your rules lawers," said the oldest of the two rules lawyers. Then he finally deigned the DM with his attention. "I am..."

The DM snarled. "I know who you two are. You're that guy who got his cat off with some B.S. spell combo. And that other guy. He's the one who gets everybody off EVERYTHING."

GralphidB smiled... a little. Fmu78 was the next to talk. "Officer DesertNomad, have you even READ the definition of the 'create pit' spell?" The poor DM looked lost. "Hmph, I thought so. If you will open the PRD and turn to page number..."

Alongside him, GralphidB's smile turned into a smirk. This was going to be easy. In fact, the rules lawyer almost felt sorry for the DM...

...heh. Almost...

Okay, so I need to publish a retraction. Celene has pointed out to me that the 'create pit' spell does not extend beyond walls and therefore wouldn't have broken down the wall to the captain's quarters. Alohan would therefore have not fallen into the pit and died.

So your NPC captain is still alive and well unconscious and dying.

Also, I am calling time on this combat. It is getting too boring so I am going to extrapolate the end result and take us onto the next scene. I hope you're all okay with that, I hope that it will break us out of our funk and get the energy levels up again.
