Oh, shoot. Well then I'm gunna take his turn.

I think the obvious choice is to try and break free from the grapple so he can fall back a bit.

Question: Are there plants/roots in the underground caves that might be a viable target for an entangle spell? Of course, I'd have to get out of the grapple first...

Yes, there are slimy roots and things that could be used for that.

I don't know for sure, as i'm no expert on the rules, but tactically it's suicide, you'll be surrounded by four undead nasties with no backup behind you!! Unless of course he folds like a paper towel....

How approrpiate is it to play on our mobility, even though from a real life view point it looks odd: one (Angati) can take a 5 foot step and stab Zombie2 first, then move to the rear of the party, since they can't AoO. Then Logan can use his move to get up and stab it too, taking a 5 foot step back to Angatis old spot. Then Kassius can move in for a slice, and finally Alohan? Would of course be nice if we weren't in reach of them when they get their turn, since they can't attack, but it that possible somehow?

Remind me, GM, is Zombie 2 in melee or not? (getting -4 to hit with ranged attacks?)

Otherwise, an alternative would be to withdraw to the corridor back, with Alohan up front, slowly whittling the zombies down one after the other?

I'm not the greatest tactician here, so what do you guys think?

EDIT: if we're trying a string of hits, I'll juice them up first. But should we agree on something first, or is that too Meta?

EDIT2: oh I see now that Kassius has acted, so only the other two. That leaves Alohan alone ... Go Alohan! :-)

Re: Roleplaying in Pathfinder

You can't move and take a 5 foot step in the same round. Also, they could still attack by charging.

Ok, what else can we do? Is moving to the corridor a bad idea?

Your entangle idea sounds good. It's from next round unfortunately - if you stay clear to cast it.

Re: Roleplaying in Pathfinder

Alohan, IF (that's still a big if) you still want to go for the undead cleric, I can sic a celestial dog on him along with you, but it's for 3 rounds max (or until killed). Also, it's not here till the end of the round. (1 round casting)

EDIT: hell, might do that anyway, and put it where we need it. GM, can I place it when the spell is finished, or do I need to designate where beforehand? And what if that place is occupied then?

Probably make than an eagle instead...

EDIT2: does a 1 round casting take all the actions of the turn, or can she still do a move action (to hand over holy water to Logan or dagger to Angati)?

You make all decisions (including location and which creature you summon) when the spell is completed. You do not need to designate it beforehand.

It takes your move and your standard, but not your swift.

They can?!!

rules:
If you are able to take only a standard action on your turn, you can still charge, but you are only allowed to move up to your speed (instead of up to double your speed) and you cannot draw a weapon unless you possess the Quick Draw feat. You can't use this option unless you are restricted to taking only a standard action on your turn.

Hey, what do ya know. Okay, they'll start doing that from next round, thanks for the heads up.

Re: Roleplaying in Pathfinder

Hmm... But they need at least 10 ft between themselves and the target to be able to charge.

Why can't the party attack and then take a 5ft step back? Well, other than that there is no space left now.

That we could totally do. If there space. Huh, it's kind of funny. Zombies can attack a target 30 ft away, but not one that's 5 ft away. A bit weird.

Re: Roleplaying in Pathfinder

These guys have a base movement rate of 20', so they can 'partial charge' and attack people if they are 10ft to 20ft away.

Yeah, that is funny. Don't want to be too close before you start the run up!!

Re: Roleplaying in Pathfinder

I was mistaken. I thought the BBEG Cleric has appeared behind us (through the undisturbed double doors). In this case -since the GM made a snafu- the zombs cant take AoO. I could just... run past them and maybe tumble through Zomb #5 to the square behind.

BUT, it looks like we want to play defensive so I suggest we focus on each Zomb until their numbers are thinned enough to engage the cleric. It is going to suck with his healing powers -and my rage is slowly dwindling- but I think out damage output is enough to take some of them out, despite his healing.

I am going to 5ft step up in between 5 and 2 to help give you guys some room. I am hoping we go all in. Maybe Celene can Aid Another in pushing the big stubborn cat into action?

EDIT: And yea, I think now would be a good time for some summoned celestial somethings to aid us.

Re: Roleplaying in Pathfinder

Yes, well, Celene is pretty flooded with actions:
Summon creature - 1 round casting
Channeling - standard action
Buffing (+3 to hit for each of you for 1 attack and +1 continuously) - standard action + swift
Handing over more vial of holy Water to Logan - move action

Aid Another too... I don't know....?

What do you want first? Logic would say
1) Buffing + Handing over first (as you're ready to pounce,
2) then summoning, then
3) Support with channel damage

but is that also the solution in practice...?

Re: Roleplaying in Pathfinder

I only have another 2 rounds(i think) of Rage, so maybe the buffs would be best used now. But then again, I honestly dont know. You are key to this engagement. Assuming the cleric heals his zombies again next round, the damage dealt to zomb 2 is null and void. If we focus fire on him now we might be able to drop him enough below 0 to where we can coup de grace his ass.
