Act 1 - Scene 3 - A Juncture of Frogs
The bell clanged loudly as men rushed to the west side of the camp, swords drawn and arrows and bolts knocked. It was a cacophony of yelling, clanging, ... and croaking?

Three large, or rather very large considering they stood a hand and a half taller than any man there, frogs were jumping towards the caravan. Frogs! And one already had an ox in its mouth! The poor beast bellowed in pain, adding to the cacophony already going on.

ooc: I need initiative rolls from everybody on they're first response posts. You don't have to wait to post, but do post only once per round please. Keep in mind that any actions in a higher initiative than yours happen first, even if the player posts later.

Act 1 - Scene 3 - A Juncture of Frogs
Ethiendar spread his wings to the full 12 foot span and with a leap took off to the sky; though he stayed low, hardly over half the range of his bow; to fly towards the west end of the camp.

As he flew he pulled out his bow along with 3 standard arrows; two of which he held in his bow-hand even as he fitted the third arrow to the string.

Once there, he would hover over the men on the ground as he examined the frog-creatures that were approaching.

OOC:
01:54, Today: Ethiendar rolled 14 using 1d20+2.  initiative.
01:52, Today: Ethiendar rolled 15 using 1d20+8.  know nature-frogs.

01:46, Today: Ethiendar rolled 10 using 1d20+7.  perception 1.

Act 1 - Scene 3 - A Juncture of Frogs
Emerald didn't like the sight of this and her mind was still racing through the earlier conversation and different ways to approach the conversation she wants to have with Ayleurian. Her reaction time is dulled further by seeing a frog large enough to have an OX in its mouth.

The sight is frightening, to be sure. But more frightening would be if the pained animal sounds were to be replaced by the screams of her traveling companions. Collecting herself, Emerald heads over to the west side of camp to assist in dealing with the frogs...

OOC:
03:57, Today: Emerald rolled 5 using 1d20+3.  Initiative.
03:53, Today: Emerald rolled 11 using 1d20+9.  Perception.

Bwuh. Rolled a 2. Twice. I'll worry about what Emmy's doing once my turn comes around.

Act 1 - Scene 3 - A Juncture of Frogs
Ayleurian rushed over to the cacophony to see what was going on, but was stopped by the wagoneer, or at least one of them, before she could enter the fray. "Miss, they do be known what to be doing. Ti's too dangerous for you to be there." Ayleurian was almost on the fringe of breaking down at the site of something in pain. "It needs me. I must heal it." Tarsis held her back and embraced her while she cried.

Initiative: 3

Act 1 - Scene 3 - A Juncture of Frogs
As the men began beating on the frog to make it let go one of the other frogs jumped closer and tongue grabbed another victim. To Ayleurian's horror, a man screamed as he was pulled into the mouth of the second frog. The third frog jumped closer and for a tongue lash, but seemed to miss landing a blow.

Act 1 - Scene 3 - A Juncture of Frogs
"No time like the present, I suppose..."

Grabthar begins to rush toward the huge monsters, two-handed hammer drawn!  With each pounding step in beat to Emerald's tune, he grows taller and heavier!  His eyes and armor begin to glow in places and his skin turns green!  He then yells a bone-rattling battlecry at the monsters to catch their attention!

"Giant Eagle approaching from the west." Ethiendar shouts in warning to those below; briefly looking to Ayleurian, then taking quick aim at the frog that was currently swallowing a human and releasing the arrow.

After firing the arrow Ethiendar returns to watching the eagle.

Act 1 - Scene 3 - A Juncture of Frogs
The third frog leapt forward as Grabthar's green bulk roared into view. Seeing a target, the frog lashed out with its tongue. The tongue whirled around Grabthar and slid off back to the frog's mouth. A layer of slime coated Grabthar's middle. An arrow whizzed post both Grabthar and frog to solidly hit the frog holding the man on the nose. The arrow sunk deep and the frog croaked the man out. The man laid on the ground groaning from the ordeal. Just then a loud crack could be heard and the ox's bellowing halted abruptly. The third frog chewed contentedly on its prize. While all this is going on Emerald's song could be heard wafting through the camp. It was a bolstering song of courage and lore that brought courage to the men that heard it. Just then a wave of energy flowed through the camp and everyone in it felt...refreshed. The man on the ground stood up and ran away from the frog in a hurry.

Act 1 - Scene 3 - A Juncture of Frogs
Emerald then begins chanting in a language unfamiliar to anyone else in the group and what grass and weeds happen to be there begin to sprout up and wrap around the legs of the frogs! "This should hold them for a few minutes! Anyone who isn't fighting up close, fall back!"

18:40, Today: Emerald rolled 24 using 1d20+8.  Spellcraft to cast Entangle (DC 16).

Act 1 - Scene 3 - A Juncture of Frogs
Grabthar lays into one of the frogs with hammer and blade!

"Watch yourselves.  Those tongues have quite the reach!  Please focus fire if possible."

One might consider it strange to hear an aristocratic accent coming from a huge monster of an orc...  But then, one might consider it strange to see gigantic frogs attacking cattle and people.

OOC:  EDIT Ooops!  Forgot to add in the bard song bonuses.

23:02, Today: Grabthar rolled 1314 using 1d20+8. hammer attack.
23:09, Today: Grabthar rolled 2324 using 3d6+7. hammer damage if that hits.
23:02, Today: Grabthar rolled 1819 using 1d20+8. sword attack.
23:09, Today: Grabthar rolled 1516 using 1d10+7. sword damage.

Rage adds +2 to-hit and damage.  Expansion adds +1 damage and pushes weapon damage dice up a step.

Act 1 - Scene 3 - A Juncture of Frogs
Grabthar found the frog delightedly squishy as he did Hammer and Anvil on it. The frog made a satisfying splat as Grabthar rended it in two. The partially eaten oxen fell to the ground at Grabthar's feet, and then was covered in vines as Emerald's spell went off. The second frog leaped upon Grabthar, the vines seemingly to have no effect on it, and settled solidly onto his arm.

The third frog went to croak in anguish but found another arrow instead. The arrow lodged solidly in its throat and what croak there was died with the frog.

Ayleurian, hearing the Strix mention a giant eagle, paused momentarily in her wailing to ponderously look around for it. "Where?" She asked drying a tear.

ooc:

@Grabthar, you are grappled with the frog. Normal pathfinder rules state at this point you can only use light weapons proficiently, but I'll allow normal weapon attacks at disadvantage. You can only get one attack while grappled, however.

You also take 5 points of damage as the frog bites your arm.

To help clarify things, there is only one frog left, and it is on Grabthar.

Addendum: ranged attacks are at disadvantage due to actively trying not to bit Grabthar.

Act 1 - Scene 3 - A Juncture of Frogs
Ethiendar pointed more or less straight up, then with a smooth motion returned the bow and remaining arrow to the quiver and drew his two kerambits.

He kept watch on the eagle instead of attacking the last remaining frog; ready to move if it came too close.

Act 1 - Scene 3 - A Juncture of Frogs
Grabthar roars in pain when the gigantic jaws snap down on his arm like an enormous bear trap.  This is very likely the worst pain he's experienced in his entire lifetime.  Near half dead in a split second.  On pure adrenaline, he swings his hammer at the face of the frog in desperation.

OOC:
22:14, Today: Grabthar rolled 17 using 2d20+9 with rolls of 8,19.  attack includes bardic bonus

Assuming that hits....
22:20, Today: Grabthar rolled 18 using 3d6+8 with rolls of 5,3,2.  damage includes bardic bonus

Dice roller was giving me a hard time, but I think I've finally figured out how to roll disadvantage the easy way now.

Act 1 - Scene 3 - A Juncture of Frogs
The frog slid off Grabthar's arm and fell to the ground with a somewhat squishy thump. Cheers rise up out of the crowd. "Alrity, back ta werk with yas." Tarsis started pushing the cried back to the wagons and people went back to the business of cataloguing supplies. Tarsis himself inspected the wagon whose oxen was ripped from to make sure it was still worthy to travel.

Ayleurian ran up to Grabthar and gave him a big hug quickly before realizing what she was doing and got off to straighten herself out. However, Grabthar would have felt a wave of good feeling energy come from her during the hug. "Th-thank you, lord Grabthar." Ayleurian stuttered as she tried to put herself back together while also wiping tears from her face. She then glanced up into the sky before turning to look over the aftermath of the encounter.

The bird flying overhead continued on its way.

OOC: Yay! Things dieded! I gets to awardeds XP naoz.

Everyone gets 950 XP! w00t! If this seems like a lot for this encounter, that's because it's not for just this encounter. The teleporter incident was 500 and RP stuff was some as well. Total to this point is 950.
