WHAT KIND OF GAME IS THIS?

This is a cinematic campaign of adventure, derring-do and magic set in present day New York City. Players who enjoy role playing,  a little combat, and character development are welcome.

WHAT GURPS EDITION WILL YOU USE? WHAT SOURCE BOOKS?
This game uses the GURPS 4th Edition rulebooks.
Fantasy
Magic

If you are new to GURPS, this will be a good introductory game for you. You will want to build a basic character using a free copy of GURPS Lite (found at http://www.sjgames.com/gurps/lite/), and let the GM know how else you want the character tweaked.

If you are a seasoned GURPS player, welcome! Please understand that the GM will be using GURPS Basic Set, Fantasy and GURPS Magic as sourcebooks, along with other supplemental books as befits the storyline.

WHAT ARE THE CHARACTER REQUIREMENTS?

PCs will be created from 250 points, with a maximum -75 in disadvantages and 5 quirks.

ST and DX are capped at 18, IQ is capped at 16, HT is not capped.
Per and Will are capped at 18.
FP and HP are limitless, befitting a cinematic game.

(GURPS Lite users, ask how you can increase FP, HP, Per & Will beyond the attribute value).

WHAT ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES CAN I USE?
Any Advantages/Disadvantages found in GURPS Lite that seem to fit this setting will be fine for game purposes. You can use Cinematic ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES.

The GM reserves the right to limit any ADVANTAGES & DISADVANTAGES & SKILLS.

Please roleplay any quirks instead of making them disadvantages; it seems better that way.

Spells will need approval. Teleportation and Gate spells are very tightly controlled.  PC's can not start with them.

PCs are well advised to have well-rounded skill sets.

PC ARCHETYPES
All the players currently work for a detective agency.

Languages: There are all the known languages of today as well as the different racial languages such as Elvish, Orcish and so on.

EQUIPMENT
Equipment should NOT exceed 50% of wealth, otherwise per the rules.
