Re: Out of Character (OOC):
Experience
Well, we finally passed 100 In Character posts, so everyone receives 100 XPs! In addition, I'm giving everyone an additional 100 for Easter and another 100 for being patient with the game taking off.

New totals can be seen in the Party Details Thread.

Next bonus XP is at 250 IC posts.

Adalwulf watches the competition with a frown. Hopefully Dalscyr proves more useful in a real fight...

This made me really laugh. :D

If no one has any further questions or anything of significance to add after the contest, I'll advance the game along to the caves.

Gentle nudge -- I'm still needing my magic items, particularly if they are going to be of help in the caves.

Well aware, I will get them to you by COB on Wednesday. I will also provide spell casters a few more spells to round out their books.

Re: Out of Character (OOC):
Sorry, I'm still dealing with sick kiddos and haven't found the time to re-work our equipment situation. Will try to get that done before Wed. and/or before we actually enter the cave... yeeesh! At least our DM still has some char stuff he's working on, so I don't feel too badly.

Re: Out of Character (OOC):
A map has been added to the Game Map section (under group 0). Sorry for the large size, I guess RPoL automatically resizes it or it's cached in my browser. I'll work on getting it added to the thread.

Re: Out of Character (OOC):
Map size was fine for me. Though if you could either tell us or place an 'x' or something of where the party is that would be helpful. I'd take a guess that we are entering from the West in the middle of the map but that would just be a guess.

Re: Out of Character (OOC):
Yes, that would be handy to have an "X". I thought we were on the east side heading downward and into the cave entrance on the west... ;-)

Map updated. Each square is 20 feet and the party is at the red X. I'll see what I can do about getting a better photo hosting site so I can post the maps in the appropriate thread.

Re: Out of Character (OOC):
Alright folks, this cave ain't gonna explore itself and neither Myrah or Gus plan on going taking the first step. I need a marching order along with the who's carrying a light source if any (the cave is somewhat illuminated at the beginning.

Don't be afraid, no green slime or other horrors await to immediately drop on you, that'll come later.

Re: Out of Character (OOC):
Might I suggest that if a week goes by with little input, or at least here at first while we're still figuring each other and our characters out, that the DM gives some gentle nudges? I think that we might need a few little bumps from time to time until we get into the swing of playing off each other. I don't mind lots of DM input and I think there's a big difference between that and being railroady. A true Neutral referee works great around a table, but on rpol, we need just a little bit more "guidance".

For us players, what are our posting expectations? I know we all signed on with the understanding that we'd be posting about once a day, but we're far from that. I'm not complaining mind you, I'm super swamped right now and can probably manage only about 3 solid posts per week. I just think that characters who are quiet due to their players being busy or whatever should just fade into the background. We're all creative, so let's make sure we do our part well so that DM can do his well...

Ok, all of that was probably obvious, but I see a great grouping of players, characters and a DM who loves the game, and I'd hate to see it fizzle because we're not communicating well. I hate to sound off, but I've just been doing PbP long enough to know that if we all don't work together to keep the game moving, it will stall and go the way of so many others which have started off with high expectations but fizzle due to lost momentum...

Not a downer at all... More of a pep-talk going in. I'm not really very good at that, but picture Dalscyr on a pony riding down the line with his little sword waving and shouting, "FFFFFRRRREEEEDOOOOOMMMMM!" ... or something.
