Okay - possible flaws - I hope you don't mind, but I also had a look on the net to see what there was in other rule books that may apply. What is or isn't possible is, of course, entirely up to you. I've put in point costs, although we could temper those if necessary, or decide what the exact merit or flaw does if needed.

Possible Flaws - I note that the rule book says up to a maximum of 7 points, so which ones should apply is up to you - or we could go over that limit, I guess:

ENEMY (up to 5 PT FLAW)
"Sometime in your life, or after your death for that matter, you
offended an unknown being with the power to cause you grief. The
power and influence of this enemy are determined by the Flaw’s
value. Someone about your equal would be 1 point, while a
Methuselah or archwizard would be worth 5." This would be the Brujah - obviously I don't know how powerful he is or how pissed off he's going to be. I was thinking something like a 2-point flaw (max 3?), as he's obviously quite a bit more powerful than me...

SIRE'S RESENTMENT (1 PT FLAW)
"Your sire dislikes you and wishes you ill. Given the smallest
opportunity, your sire will seek to do you harm, and may even
attack you if provoked. Your sire’s friends will also work against
you. Good luck!" Again, I don't really know how the Nosferatu will react to me - he may not care much, or might be trying to win me over. Having both the above flaws might make things a little difficult, but I thought I'd put it in here as an option just in case you think it's relevant.

LAME (3 PT FLAW)
"Your legs are injured or otherwise prevented from working
effectively. You suffer a two-dice penalty to all dice rolls related
to movement." For obvious reasons - it's interesting that in other books the penalties are different. Some say movement rate reduced, etc. I'm not sure what should be the 'best' result of his lame legs.

VENGEANCE(2 PT FLAW)
"You have a score to settle - a friend was corrupted, a parent
was slain, whatever. You are obsessed with wreaking vengeance on
the guilty party. Revenge is your first priority in all situations. The
need for vengeance can only be overcome by spending Willpower
points, and even then, it only temporarily subsides. Some day you
may have your revenge, but the Storyteller won’t make it easy." The Brujah, obviously, although we could 'downgrade' it to 1 point and make it a little more 'slow boil' vengeance.

In reply to James (msg # 1):

Now for merits - which I wouldn't want to go over the amount of flaws I have really. Like for like (or one point left over) seems good to me. Again, these are only possibilities - there are too many points to have them all - what do you think? As a preference, I feel the last three work well, and then possibly the first one? (dependent on how many flaw points I have...)

DUAL NATURE (2PT MERIT)
"You have two distinct yet compatible Natures, both of which
influence your personality. You may regain Willpower using both
Natures. You may still choose a Demeanor, one as different from
your Natures as you like. This Merit is not the same as having
multiple personalities (which is a Derangement)." Possibly survivor and 'avenging angel' - something like that (at least until vengeance is done...)

UNBONDABLE(3PT MERIT)
"No matter how much blood you drink from other vampires,
you can never fall under the Blood Oath. You will never live the
life of the Thrall." Not sure why I would have this...

OVERSIZED FANGS (1 PT MERIT)
"You have enormous fangs, snaggly tusks resembling those of an elephant or walrus. They cannot be retracted, but they do an additional die of damage and add one die to your Intimidation dice pool. You also have the flaw Permanent Fangs with this merit, however you receive no points for it, as it is given to you automatically by taking the Merit." As his sire seemed to have this flaw too...

TOUGH HIDE (2 PT MERIT)
"Thick, leathery skin envelops you. Add an extra die when soaking damage (for everything except fire or sunlight)." Due to what happened as he changed.

SLEEP UNSEEN (2 PT MERIT)
"You can use the Obfuscate Discipline to hide while you sleep during the day. Such prolonged use of this ability requires an extra blood point to keep your body hidden for a full day. Of course, you must at least be hidden from sunlight, and vampires using the Auspex Discipline can still detect you, but mortals will ignore your very presence. This is a useful Merit for Nosferatu emissaries and travellers; many would perish without it." Again, no actual reason why, but something that could be responsible for my continued survival while left behind by my sire...

Also, not sure how you feel about changing Clan disciplines. I feel that Fortitude fits the character very well, whereas Animalism might not fit as well. What do you think? So having 'clan' disciplines as Potence, Fortitude and Obfuscation. If you like, I would still have to 'buy' a rank in Animalism at the start of the game as a legacy of my sire?

Those flaws seem fine to me - they all work well.

I agree that these last three are best - they all make perfect sense. I'm not sure what I think about unbondable.

Don't change the clan disciplines - there is no good background reason to do so. I have no problem with you not putting any points in Animalism and buying Fortitude in its place, but you will have to buy it using bonus points. Additionally, the experience point cost will be that of a non clan discipline.

In reply to James (msg # 8):

What about family ties? I was thinking you could have a bride back home, married shortly before you left for the crusades? What about other family and friends? Any friends from the war? How much time has passed since your embrace? I was thinking 20 to 30 years? That way, some of them would still be alive, though they would not recognise you now...

Cool - so, how about Enemy (2pt), Lame (3pt) and Vengeance (2pt) for a total of 7 points?

Shall we just stick with these 3 then for 5 points of merits?
