Hey Evia, welcome and sorry I didn't see your post last night. I made mine right before I went to bed. I generally have to be at work for seven thirty am. I'm seriously getting excited that this game will actually happen and I'm thrilled you will both be a part of it.
I really wanted to find good players, old school players who want a challenging game and, from what you tell me you're both the sort of role players I've always gamed with :) My intentions are to mix some politics, adventure/survival and mystery into the game if I can, but really its about where you guys want to take things. The basic premise is there as a goal, when or if you actually make it there is very much up to you.
Thanks for your answers; those both sound like amazing games, the kind I would really enjoy. I'm not familiar with Silent Legions, but anything supernatural or occult has my approval. Great adversaries, well researched mysteries, talented and dedicated players and a Game Master that challenged you. Its nice to know those kinds of games are still out there.
I have played a lot of games over the years, but I think my favourite character was a druid from my friend Steve's game. He ran an A D and D game for years, set in ancient/fantasy Ireland. It was a brilliant campaign that lasted about five years. My character's real name was Liam Ui'Neill, but his Druid Name was Cieran. It was a very intense game with great role players and a plot that swept up not just Ireland, but the surrounding Celtic peoples magical and mortal, in a war that changed everything.
I admit, some of the greatest role playing moments I've ever had were in that game. Those incredible moments that stay with you years after. We were pushed to our limits, our battles were brutal and costly, but when we triumphed the sense of accomplishment was incredible and worth everything we had paid for it. It was that kind of game, but it was twenty years ago and I live in a different country now.
