In reply to GM_R (msg # 1):

These books are shared for you to use creating your characters. Please do not share them beyond this game.

The Process to follow is.

Step One
Roll your 10 stats using the dice roller, remember to make the rolls secret.
Rereoll anything under 25.
After that decide if you want to keep that character or was he best best staying on the farm.
If he is a farmer then repeat step one.
Assign your 10 stats.
Roll ten potentials.

Step Two
Choose your race

Step Three
Choose your profession

Step Four
Roll your background options using the options from Character Law and/or Companion One

In reply to GM_R (msg # 2):

These two documents contant all the level bonuses and skill costs for all allowed professions.

https://www.dropbox.com/s/epyz...level-bonus.pdf?dl=0 Level Bonuses

https://www.dropbox.com/s/9krs...skill-costs.pdf?dl=0 Skill Costs

If you are a Rolemaster player you will notice that this is a relatively short skill list.  Many skills have been rolled into one or skills that had been 'exploded' into many skills I have kept just the top line skill. So for example, there is no spell trickery skill but everything that you can do with spell trickery is now part of spell mastery. There is no interrogation skill, you can role play that and if you want to bring other persuasion skills such as suduction into it or public speaking then I am open to suggestions as the case arises.

In my experience if you can play one musical instrument then picking up others is relatively easy. You just have to buy one music skill and that will allow you to play any and all musical instruments but the difficulty factor will reflect your familiarity with the instrument. Singing falls under music.

Lore and Craft skills you do still have to specify and choose the most appropriate skill cost for.

Atheltic Games I treat like music above. One skill covers all manner of games but those you are less familiar with will be more difficult to play.

Any questions please ask in your private thread.

Hobby Skill Ranks

You can have 25% of your total DPs as hobby skills. These can only be Secondary Skills (ie not from the primary skills table in ChLaw pg 76)

I have added a character sheet for each of you. There is a training column. The way to fill that in is, if you put one letter or number in the column for every rank you buy so if you bought one rank as a hobby skill, two ranks at apprenticeship and two at first level then you would put

HAA11 in the training column and +25 in the skill bonus column.

If you were higher level and you had bought additional ranks using rapid skill development then you would put a capital R for every rank you bought.

Does that make sense?

You should find it on the character sheet link at the top of the page. If it isn't there I will try and find out what I did wrong

Re: character creation

also, On the hobby skills  the 25% of our starting dps?

Do you round up or down.

AND...You say we can only use them on secondary skills... but that is somewhat hard to determine since you merged some of the skills?

In reply to Joe (msg # 13):

Point 5 or higher rounds up in the players favour.

I have not merged any primary skills.  If it is a primary skill then you cannot spend any of these bonus DPs on them.

Re: character creation

Are you using the Smoother bonus table for Stat bonus and Dps from the companion or the basic one from character law?
