Re: OOC chat
Huzzah!

"Siai Hrauq, personal bio-mechanics specialist, adaptable organics, superior to standard organics.  Ally and asset to the Weal.  Experience with organic/organic interaction, including what are known as the 'arts,' a social construct that can result in closer bonding of social units.  He is a necessary element of this mission." ~Assessment of Final Command.

Fin is, underneath the suit and helmet, female.  However, she has no real sexual identity, other than knowing how to keep her plumbing in order, and really doesn't understand the whole concept of organic mating rituals.  It's just so... messy.

Man, this is going so well! I'll be back this Sunday, prep up and begin, I think. We have another request for play. They want to be a nano. I'll add them and let's see if they want to change that our not. It's ok for me.

Re: OOC chat
Siai has a gender as a social construct, but no physiological gender. That is, the humans among whom he lives tend to think of him as male, and he has accepted the role while among them, but he finds the distinction more curious than anything else. He would accept being called she or it just as easily.

"Messy? I do not know. Are machines so different? The circuit must be closed, the flow directed. Then all is in accordance. Is it not so?"

Ok, I'm back. Are you all ready to begin? Any questions or comments? I'll prepare your cyphers and oddities and plan the start for this. Let's roll.

I'm still good to go, but I know that Fin was working on selling a house, so that might be keeping her busy right now. :)

I still need to prep some. And it's not like we can start without her :)

I'm good, I'm here.  Got the house assessment done today, so now we get into the actual selling, which is obviously out of my control.  When we get to the point of actual selling, buying, and moving the whole household, I'll give everyone a heads-up!

Also this genderlessness? makes Fin like Siai even more, because it doesn't have to remember pronouns!  :D

"Machines do not procreate in the biological sense.  They construct, all the parts fitting together neatly.  At least, that is according to perfect plans.  Correct parts are not always available, and sometimes must be substituted.  This is less than ideal."

Re: OOC chat
"Oh?" *takes this in* "...I have been in our village forge once, to watch Otalban the smith do his work. The smoke and heat did not agree with me."

...and by following that train of thought you're one step closer to 'getting' Siai. :)

(difficulty of all tasks involving understanding Siai is reduced by one step)

I'm going to hold off on joining the IC for this introductory section. I think this part especially should focus on Fin's reaction to the attack. Don't worry about me, I'll be right here, with the audience. Take your time. :)

Don't fret, I can do. Where are you? Or do you want me to improvise? I assumed you're not _with_ Fin, but were inside the Weal. Are you somewhere else?

Re: OOC chat
No, no, seriously, it's okay. That wasn't passive-aggressive or anything. ;) I would honestly rather we kept the focus on Fin for now, and just let Siai enter the story at a point when it makes sense, rather than tell a sidestory about Siai.

Re: OOC chat
Well, sure, if you want. But if you're actually inside the Weal, it makes more sense for you to do something than not, in my view. But of course I'm not Siai :)

Re: OOC chat
Ah, well. I'm not sure whether Siai would be in the Weal or not, is the thing. Actually, that is something I should ask-- I was picturing Fin and Siai's first meeting being part of the game, but maybe Fin wanted something different?

That's cool. I'd assumed otherwise by the previous talk here.

Yeah, that's fair. I was figuring the earlier dialogue we were doing was hypothetical roleplaying, but I'm realizing now that it might have been otherwise.

Ladies, gentlemen, constructs and visitants, please adjust your seatbelts, lifejackets and/or shoelaces. We're about to depart for the dritfields of Errid Kaloum.
