Character Creation

Once you've been accepted into the game, you can create your character.

Characters will be built at 11th level. Steps for character creation are:

  1. Build a character at 1st level with normal starting equipment and post to your Character Sheet area. You can roll attributes, use an array or use a 27-point-buy whichever works best for you. If you roll and the roll goes badly, you can choose an array or a point buy instead.
  2. PM the DM to review.
  3. Level them up to 11 with no additional equipment.
  4. PM the DM to review again.
  5. Add equipment--see the post below for more details.
  6. PM the DM one more time to review and approve.


Any WOTC source is acceptable, though you will have to work pretty hard to justify Eberron choices in Greyhawk. (Action Points, for example, will not be used.)

Note for Wizards:
As a higher-level wizard in the course of adventure you often find more spells for your spellbook and since he was mentored by a mage for several years, can his book hold more than the 20 leveling up would give him (6 to start + 2 per level = 20)


Sure. Give yourself 10 extra spells.

I have corrected the character sheet to remove the "without CON modifier" in the Max HP section of the default character sheet. I hadn't noticed that and don't want it.

For equipment, if I tell you your level 10 character has been approved, select one Rare magic item and one Uncommon magic item. If you don't have the DMG, let me know via PM and I'll roll one up for you or assign appropriately.

For you tanks, you can forego the Uncommon magic item and get a suit of full Plate Mail instead, if you want. Or you could burn both your slots and get Plate Mail +1. Entirely up to you.

Apart from that, everyone gets 750 gp to spend on mundane items. Don't bother rolling. Don't equip up until your bulid is approved, though.
