Re: Out of Character Discussion

I've lost everything. I reset my PC to factory settings before updating to Windows 10 (Don't judge me I want to try it out) and, well, the backup I made for all of my projects (over ten years worth of writing and graphics and other stuff), has become corrupted. That file, of course included ALL of my roleplaying resources, everything; Every single word I've ever written, pertaining to RPGs, gone. Forever, and we're talking literally hundreds of roleplays, I've played in, created and/or ran over the last ten or so years, most of it self-made content.

At this moment, it appears as though the file is completely FUBAR, but I'm going to keep looking for solutions on how to salvage even some of the files.

This may or may not affect my GMing performance somewhat, hopefully not too much (thankfully I have a pretty good memory). Oh and, if you hear any news about a horribly violent rampage in Finland, that's just me, venting some steam.

Also, you're right Nasrudin, but if that little detail stopped you from posting a response anyway, then you're a big old butt.

Re: Out of Character Discussion

Just wanted to make sure that things didn't change because it was night time when I got there and not dusk.

Also sorry to hear about your PC.  I have lost much of my RP stuff as I changed computers due to Viruses and other crap.  Luckliy a book I had been writting for a long time was saved, so I didn't lose years of work.

Ouch, that's terrible to hear. That's why I use both an external HD ánd cloud storage for my important stuff these days. I had that happen to me once too often.

Re: Out of Character Discussion

I've been caught up with getting Star Sovereigns up and running, as well as working towards replacing what I lost in the "great file corruption of August". I honestly have but a small recollection of what I'd planned for Champions, but I think the new ideas you'll like, once I flesh them out enough to put into action.

I can reveal that there's a plan to bring in fresh blood (or two, since it appears Jean may have gone MIA too), I just haven't figured out exactly when or how, though I know with certainty what kind of character they're going to be. I know it may not look like it, but I'm working my darnest to rejuvenate not only this game, but my interest in running it - The desire is still there and I'll keep it going even if only one of you remain, but losing all my files really took a dump on my productivity.

But enough excuses!

I pose to the three (or four, if Jean turns up) of you a question; What would you like to see in Champions, after Chapter 1? Are there any places you'd like the story to visit (Don't suggest Black Marsh, because you may or may not already be going there, eventually), or any tasks you'd want to see your characters accomplish? Your profiles have already given me some ideas and, as some of you have seen, something has been put into motion - But my desire from the very beginning, has been to give each of the Player Characters, story arcs of their own, however short or long, that could be built and played out and (hopefully) brought to a satisfactory conclusion.

Chapter 1- if things go as I've planned -will leave you with a destination, however some options about reaching it. It will also take a while to reach said destination, so as you travel, detours will probably be unavoidable, branching the story for 'side-quests' and the like. The goal is and has always been, to drag you all across Tamriel and maybe even beyond, as you.. well, anything specific would be a bit of a spoiler. Needless to say, this world isn't the only one that hangs in the balance, as the story progresses.

Anyway, shoot away with your ideas/suggestions! Hopefully some OOC discussion on this, will bring everyone to the same page and breathe a little more life into the game as well.

Re: Out of Character Discussion

Well it comes to this point, do we want to delve into Empire territory by going south of Hammerfall into Cyrodiil. Or since were going to Black Marsh, and are holy appointed asses hunted by Dragon Blades. We can problly escape them in Skyrim.

But since none of us our Nord, or Human, and we got an Dominion Altmer with us, really both areas don't look good.

Third option is head north to Daggerfall, and take a boat maybe...

Re: Out of Character Discussion

Just to clarify, you're not going to Black Marsh right away, but will end up there eventually. Maybe in Chapter 3.

Re: Out of Character Discussion

Currently, my character has his own goals he wants to figure out.  One of them being where his father might be, since I doubt he stayed in Summerset.

That said, a journey there could be alot of fun.  Also, while not a focal point, I do think some politics should come into play at some point.  For me it sorta already has, but if we head into Daggerfall, and the surronding city-states, their could be lots of politics to go around.  Going south into the Empire, would have the element of surprise, though, depending how hard these knights want us dead, could be suicide..

As for a summery

Summerset Isle would be the one place I would want to head, and no race currently in the group is banned from the Dominion as far as I know (Elswyer is still part of the Dominion, not sure on Black Marsh).

My character is turning out a bit darker then I had envisioned.... I mean, I already up an murdered several people.... one of which I really didn't want to.  Some aftermath of my rampage in Ashtown could be fun to witness...

you know the story plots I have.  A few more will crop up (Such as discovering wtf I am carrying in a glass jar).  Also, I might, if possible, send some people to liberate the Arch-Mage... if for no other reason then information...

Re: Out of Character Discussion

Similarly, Daro'Misha also wants to do her own thing, but has more or less been railroaded along the party so far. But seeing as Secrets, Dirty Little Secrets® and Nasty Elfsess® are breaking up the party, it won't be long before our little thieving Khajiit sets off on her own either for some personal development too. As to where that happens.. well, most of my affinity is with what was in the prior 3 games (Morrowind-Skyrim), but I'd be open to heading for Elsweyr if given reason. It doesn't really matter, as long as the reason is good. On that point, finding our quarry is #1 on my mind right now so we can get an idea what Alkosh wants of us.

Re: Out of Character Discussion

Well it seems I am on my way back to the group, so we can find this guy together.  Hell, I have some information already, at least possible info.

EDIT: Also, WHAT?  I want to know, why your character would assume it was an Altmer, much less me, that betrayed you?  Those are IMPERIAL Dragon Knights... they aren't even associated with the Dominion...

Not going for an argument, just curious if your character had a reason to suspect such things, or it just doesn't like me, so it will blame all it's woes on me.

Re: Out of Character Discussion

Well, for one you murdered someone in cold blood before her eyes, so her opinions were low to begin with. Then, after you got sent to the palace suddenly those knights show up. As far as she knows the Altmeri and Imperials are one and the same (The knights didn't exactly state they were not with the Altmeri and wasted very little time before they went stabby-stabby-face). Daro'Misha assumes you ratted the party out because no one else knew about us and you went to the authorities, and she's had an eye on the others all the time, so it couldn't have been them.

Re: Out of Character Discussion

Summerset could certainly be an interesting place to visit, especially given Nasrudin's connections to it and, to be honest, I've had a scenario planned for your reunion with your family since early on. Also, politics, definitely something that could be fun - As an avid lover of feudal politics and intrigue, I'd love to flesh that out in the world of Elder Scrolls.

Speaking of Black Marsh, I never did ask what you all thought about the Argonian Report? (If you haven't read it, it can be found here) I had intended to write more little books and things like that, but the file loss kinda put a hamper on that too - But would y'all like to see more of them? My plan was to introduce and flesh out game-world concepts (like the isolationism of the Argonians) through them, as in-game knowledge, instead of having out-of-character information dumps.

As for Misha going it alone for some time, I'm certainly not opposed to the idea - However it shouldn't be an abrupt or unnecessary thing. I mean, Nasrudin was only separated because he announced his identity to the Altmer soldiers, who all knew him to be dead and, because of the infamous status of Nasrudin's supposed "failure" and "treachery", they took it super seriously. That, and Erundil backed up his story. But again, I'm not opposed to the idea - I just don't want to end up running a separate thread for everyone. Perhaps if your path ever takes you to Elsweyr, Misha could pursue an avenue of some alone-time, by hooking up with her old pals.

What about you Vassaad? Any thoughts on personal character development? If you don't want to share with the class, you can just PM me instead. I have some ideas for you as well, and for Story Reasons™ I definitely want to visit the winter wonderland of Skyrim at some point, which could give the perfect opportunity to visit the old College again.. As well as checking up on the not-so-Iron Curtain of King Junnes.
