Re: OOC - Game Discussion
I'm surprised you took the time to type that all out.  You might consider saving it somewhere for later in case I ask you to recap it for an NPC or something.  You've seen how terrible I am in that regard. :P

Re: OOC - Game Discussion
That was actually a mix of my memory, the one thread you saved in The Scale of the Dragon What Bit Ye and the PM thread in that game Questions, Rolls, Skulduggery and other things... that covered a lot of our back and forth over stuff going on.

It was really awesome.

Kinda sad that things tapered off after heading to the Castle so for all intents and purposes I'm considering that part of the adventure to have never happened to avoid any loose threads.  With Ihvon leaving on this long trek to get here after returning from the other realm.

I don't have anything to add before we find out if we identify it.

Also, I'm at my in laws this week fr Thanksgiving so I'm on limited posting until Saturday afternoon.

Re: OOC - Game Discussion
Now I had waited for a little to find out if the ring simply had a magic mouth on it, or if it was intelligent and was going to start talking to us.  If it doesn't start talking then he'll bind it up and start working on the other minor magical items.  Cause other than knowing that aspect of the ring it gives no information that is helpful ;)

I don't have Knowledge Arcane to see if I've ever heard of a ring like this/looked like this and if the Spellcraft didn't tell my anything else...

That's all you get from the mouth. :P

I'll work up a list of minor magic items for the stuff you found.

Re: OOC - Game Discussion
One scroll of reinforce armaments
One scroll of longshot
One set of +1 leather armor (Large size for minotaurs :P)
One potion of barkskin (Caster level 3rd)
One potion of magic fang
One wand of hold animal (50/50 charges left)

Yay for random loots.  I didn't want them all to be scrolls so after the first two I rerolled if it was a scroll.

Re: OOC - Game Discussion
Not to appear to look a gift horse in the mouth with my questioning, I'm guessing the ones you pointed out that didn't become magical in your list was really just placeholder descriptions?  Aka the unnamed weapon and quiver of arrows...as trinkets seems to fit the description of the two scrolls and two potions quite easily, maybe even the wand.  Nor do I want you to feel like I'm being a money grubbing guy when I ask if the gems that he picked up that were made mention of as they wandered through the settlement (which tend to be more valuable than simple coins) are in a different list or not?

Don't want to come off as greedy...even though I know it does.  Just feel like we're going to need help and might have to hire it or there are a few ideas I have to help but would likely be expensive to help and we'll need liquid coin to pull it off.

SO GREEDY ROCKS FALL EVERYONE DIES :P

Nah man, I totally forgot what all you found.

For the gems we'll say they're worth 2,000gp all told.

I do remember you picking up the spearhead of the Great Wall Tribe's chief which will be a +1 weapon when affixed to a shaft.

For the quiver of arrows it has 20 +1 magic arrows with the distance special ability.

*laughs*

Coolios, I wasn't sure if it was the arrows or the quiver.  And yeah I remember the spearhead and going to have to 'repair' it to toss on a shaft and make it work out well.

Well I always wanted to die by rocks falling from heaven... ;)

You know, this isn't the first time he has been threatened with flying boulders of death by a DM... :P

Cool, it was worth risking our skins after all!

The "rocks fall everyone dies" is a recurring tabletop gaming joke.  I have no idea where it originated but I definitely didn't come up with it.

Still I always have to laugh when I see someone use it...

Especially in reference to something I'm doing :D

Okay, I looked it up, it's from a webcomic called SomethingPositive that I remember reading waaaaay back in the day.  The phrase has definitely moved into the regular tabletop gaming culture, however.

If you guys are ready for it I'm prepared to post an update in-game.  It looks like you guys are still at the Vestris estate, but I seem to recall plans for you to go back to Little Castille?  Let me know what your plans are and I'll start moving you in that direction.

Re: OOC - Game Discussion
After doing a short re-read of the thread I agree with you.  We were at the estate and the plan was to tell Caylif the story of what happened in the canyons, warn him of the vampire and what happened/what the bag of ash and bone chips meant.

Then we were heading back to Little Castille in the hopes of getting a proper Identify scroll for the ring and or some way of figuring out what/who we were really dealing with.  Not to mention some supplies to reflect daylight into deeper sections of the area of the canyons if they can be found and acquired.

Re: OOC - Game Discussion
Yes, I think that was the plan now that I've read through. I also remember some crazy ideas on my part concerning Viktor, though I don't think I ever suggested them out loud. :P

Sorry for the quiet, hopefully I'll be on more consistently now that the work craziness is at least becoming steadier.

Re: OOC - Game Discussion
Alright, one last thing before I post an update.  Were you guys planning on telling Caylif the whole story about what happened when you went to the Great Wall village?  I don't want to assume how much you're going to say, and his reaction may depend on how much you let him know.

Re: OOC - Game Discussion
No I don't think we were going to hold anything back.  We were going to frame removing the holy objects to give to another clan so their legacy can be passed on...or if there were any survivors give it back to them.  Keep the ritual and historical significance with their kind.

Though if Caylif says they are best returned Ihvon wouldn't disagree with him, just tell it from the perspective of the unending circle and I had hoped it would have significance and reverence besides leaving it in the hands of an evil looking vampire.

Yes indeed.  If you decide to check in on him in-character just assume he's asleep in his cell.

To be fair, it was you that had to wait for us to finish up.  Just post when you're willing and able to do so and we'll get moving.
