Re: OOC
As far as I can tell we're looking at having one Y-wing and eight X-wings for the moment. Once the three inactives are dropped (battle casualties? reassigned?) we'll be down by three, but at that point either someone will need to be shifted into the Y-wing to act as gunner or Amaria will have to switch out to an X-wing herself. (There's not much point in having a two-seater if one of the seats is empty!)

Is anyone willing to play Y-wing gunner when the time comes? It does mean less control over where your fighter goes and when (like when Amaria keeps getting called back for briefings), but on the up side, you only need to worry about shooting since someone else handles the piloting side. (Comms/etc is still fair game too.)

Re: OOC
I could be a gunner if it's needed that badly. I'm the low-man, so I think that's how it'd go. Maybe one day I'll have my own ship...

Re: OOC
We could use some background for both Seon and Laton, yes. Or at least Amaria could use it as the squad leader (at your own peril, as Liaka discovered)!

Seon seems to be joining from the outpost crew. I'm not sure whether Laton is also meant to be there or if he's waiting back at the ship?

Re: OOC
Seon was part of his family's shipping business that ended up getting targeted by the Empire, specifically the moff of the system, claiming they were smuggling for the Rebellion (which they weren't). After the business was fined to bankruptcy, the Sullustan figures the only way to get back at the Empire is to officially join the Rebellion as a pilot.

Re: OOC
Since I don't remember if I said it before, Amaria now has Situational Awareness as well, so both flights should be covered. I don't think the benefit stacks, but everyone should be covered for two boost dice this way.

Re: OOC
Amaria you are correct, as the wording of situational awareness says "Gain 1 boost" or "gain 2 boost". Every time they use gain it's a set amount. Add or Increase are the words they use for stackable bonuses.

However, since the talent does not grant it to yourself, this means that Liaka and I both get the boost die as well from each other.

Re: OOC
It's probably safe to assume average (2D) difficulty for typical things unless there's a reason to think it would be otherwise, in which case 1D and 3D are the go-tos. 4D and 5D generally only come up with the task is obviously exceptional.

Re: OOC
As I recall the cruiser is in a vast, empty area of space. So if there are Imps hiding out there they are outside sensor range. I guess some could try to scan the debris, but others could focus on extending scanner range in more directions.

Re: OOC
In reply to Amaria (msg # 335):

On thing I have learned from this system is that PCs should never assume the difficulty. "Average" is not to be confused with the standard typical roll. Average is described as follows:

" A typical character with the proper training, resources, and the right approach to the situation should reasonably expect to succeed at average tasks slightly more often than he fails."

Easy is more of the "average" we are used to in other games. Easy would be considered a DC 10-13 in D&D, where average would be more like an DC 15-17. It's an easy way to challenge beginning players, as is backed up by my force and destiny GM guide.

I also do not feel comfortable dictating my own difficulty as a player, unpess specifically told by a GM or making a superficial roll like "can I keep my cool or do I deck this guy in the face" sort of things.

As a heads up, my posting is going to be a bit sporadic over the next week or two - our newest son was born Sunday night and that's taking most of my free time wrangling the (now) three of them.
