For Taren...

We have been the length of the Wetlands over the last year, so we are learning,  but as you said this is your home territory.

Storyteller...

Ok, no bracers, but a bow guard is standard for bowmen.  As for the sword, it will be a fine longsword.  I will give it a description later.

Re: Posting

Woooo  pays to go back and read.  Both Asurii and Raiel picked up Heron marked blades in Malkieri along with a lot of other stuff.  See pages 9-12 on Malkieri for more information.

Other items include:

20 cystal lances, one end capped with copper. Hand grips in the middle would interfer with using them as traditional staves.

40 spears, 9 of them are extra special - somehow.

20 bows - each the equivilant of +1, +2 VS Shadowspawn.

1,000 arrows - would punch through armor and the toughest hide easily.

20 daggers, their hilts capped with what appear to be blue diamonds.

6 statues of hooded figures. It is hard to tell whether they are men or women. They are level 2 angreal. These strangely resonate to saidar or saidin. At one point, they seem to resonate with both at once. All the channelers in the room would be surprised to feel the other half of the source when that happens. It is an echo until the statue is held. Once held, the channeler feels the echo.

Marissa picks one up and walks over to Roger. "Would you hold saidin and this statue with me?" If he does, he and Marissa not only feel the other half of the One Power held by the other, they feel the One Power, whole and complete, ready to be used by them.

From the Wheel of Time rule book there is

1 bird statuette, a desert hawk

12 golden rings

6 cat statuette, but they are small enough to wear as necklaces or hide inside clothing.

1 Crystal Spar of Temarhwin

1 hogarn medallion

6 Golden Keys (Jenasa's)

1 Talismon of Growing

Re: Posting

Most of the stuff was divided to all the players, but the swords were put on someone's horse.

Raiel aand I ended up with 2 gold rings, 1 cat statue, one hooded figure statue, 1 key.

Raiel has the desert hawk statue and I have the crystal spar.   Some  of the others took other things.  Arrows were taken by the bowmen including Raiel and Asurii and the extras carried by the riders, same as the remaining heron blades.

I believe Addaru carried the swords as he could keep them safe.

No wonder the travel spells worked so well the Keys enhance that as well as open new waygates. The hooded figure statuettes are angreal I believe they were rated at 2 (can be 1-3) the Cat gives +1 to dex, and + 10 to move silently. There are even a couple of extra keys and cats and statuettes so the Taren could be given one of each.  I believe Marissa kept the extra of those.

I will not forget to use the spar next time we meet shadowspawn, beside giving wholesome light it deal 4d6 damage to them.

Re: Posting

In looking for informatin about Manetheren I just found something about power wrought blades, beyond those that are Heron Marked.  Some hand no marks and some had other marks. How about finding an eagle or dragon marked sword?

Re: Posting

So, the horses were left outside where that led to everyone ending up in the Tower and coming out outside the tower? :)

Yes, very few power wrought or even MP blades were marked with Herons. A true warder's sword, the originals, were Power wrought and marked with Heron's.

Other weapons could be marked with snakes, wolves, etc. If there was one marked with a dragon, it likely belonged to Lews Therin, or perhaps his guards.

Several of the Power Wrought blades here have their guards formed from the wings and body of Eagles, with the blade coming out of the open beak. :)

Re: Posting

LOL we din't carry anything but the items Asurii mentioned.  THe rest was packed up.

I really could use an nice bag of holding  LOL  but my purse is quite small actually. except for the hawk and small  cat statues  Only Raiel never knew what they did She just claimed one of each as her share.

If the rest were left in Tar Valon at Marissa's house so be it.

Re: Posting

Can we get to posting, please? Also....I have been thinking...seems everyone has been hinting that I should abandon the blade master idea and go for the super uber bad ass bowman. Only thing is......no prestige classes for that and I have already committed myself to the blade master and warder. Any ideas?

Re: Posting

GO WITH IT.

Heck as a true Maiden of the Spear in the D20 RPG Under the Dragon's Banner has a way to use Alg, Woodsman and Wanderer to make more true Maiden of the Spear.

OK  DM time to start a new OOC.

But are already good with a bow. Tee new bow is for what you are already.  The blade that you trying to master is exactly that.

Each have there uses.  One is long and short range one is melee.

Re: Posting

I was not referring tp the Aiel but Taren  As a Two Rivers bowman his main skills right now are with bow.  He is the one trying to learn mastery of the sword.

Raiel and Asurii are only decent with a bow but no bonuses just proficient.  However their main weapon is the short spear.  They started out with nothing in sword except it was taboo.  ONly now does Raiel have proficiency after using the cube in Camelyn.  That and a few practices.

Re: Posting

Two Rovers Bowman or Aiel, both groups who generally don't know sword. If the Aiel, any Aiel, can learn sword, then so can a Two Rivers Bowman, any Two Rivers Bowman. :)

A sword is definitely better in close combat. :)

Re: Posting

Yes, That is exactly right.  Which is what I was trying to say.  Tarm now wants to master the sword, Raiel does too and Asurii because she doesn't want Raiel to get better than her at it--sibling rivalry

However keeping a bow handy is wise even if you want to specialize in a bow.  No reason it throw it away just because we want to also learn how to use a sword.  Which was also a pont I was trying to say.  THis just says it more clearly.

I was never goin to throw away my bow. And I had the idea of Warder/Blade Master when I first created my character. *grins* So no worries there. Not given up the bow.

Re: Posting

To my understanding and recollection though I will go back and read it to be sure, individuals took a few items from that trove as well but not all of it.  There wouldn't be room even with the horses.

I was called away abruptly and did not have computer access last week.  I'm back now and posting but I'll be out again tonight and not likely posting again until tomorrow.  Posting will pick up now.

Keep in mind one thing that Robert Jordan set down for the Wheel of Time game, he didn't want characters to become uber beings and wanted certain things limited by way of 'magic' and ability.

I agree that as written the warder class armor compatability is most efficient with Armsman but look at the books, not many warders are seen wearing armor.
