Re: Story Thread 1

"Arrrgh, fine. You don't have it. But you still robbed a bank, and you've gone and made me mad by not stealing the thing I wanted to take from you. What reason is there for me to not just keep up this spell until the cops arrive? That is unless you two want to go back in..."

Frank would have held the bridge of his nose were his hand free, "Sir, seriously? We're not going to steal it. If you want to  steal it more power to you, but seriously, all you're doing is making a scene." Heroes tended to be a bit egotistical, maybe he could play off that, "Plus this is pretty embarrassing looking. Should we call the press get you up in lights? 'Hero captures criminals and self' Not a great headline. You want to try again?"

That hit home. He was obviously waffling, "Ahhhh... Well..."

Re: Story Thread 1

"Not to mention literally anyone could walk up right now and pull of your mask and pop a pic for the net. Cape Tuggers pays good money for getting unveiling shots of heros." Terry added and then grinned as a stray dog was slowly approaching them.
"Hey pup, hey pup pup pup." He called to it.
The dog's floppy ears perked at the call, tail giving a cautious wag in interest.
"Who's a pretty girl? Wanna do me a solid little lady? See that other guy?"
The dog looked at Henry.
"Yeah him. Go pee on him."

Re: Story Thread 1

The masked man looked as if he were trying to hop away, his feet still glued to the pavement. "Nooooooo, hey! involving civilians, that's cheating!"

He really was about to drop his spell, "I don't need this, I've already been called 'pee-smelly' by a child once in my career. That's enough."

Re: Story Thread 1

Terry brightened. "Well then yah better let us go Mr Mask." The stray dog, a lab looking mix trotted up to Mysterioso to smell at him when a black van pulled up on the street, the windows all dark tinted. It blocked the Taxi by the bank stairs, probably having the driver wonder what the hell the taxi was doing up on the curb.
The stray scampered away when the car drew near, knowing enough about road safety to avoid cars.

"Wait no, come back pup!" Terry called after her as she ducked into a alley way.

The van sat there inert a moment before the engine turned off and the passenger side opened. A man stepped out dressed in a black suit with a black under tee and a nice pair of black wingford shoes. His face was full obscured by a frowning Tragedy mask and head stocking. Resting against his side in one hand was a assault rifle. "..."
From the driver's side came a man in matching clothes and a Comedy mask, both his hands on his hips as he was quietly laughing to himself as the sight.

"Uhhh." Terry couldn't quite see the men so well from his position. "Hi? Friends? Fellow Bank robbers right? I think you guys might be a little late for your appointment here."

"...what is going on here?" Asked Tragedy, his voice pitched too low to be a normal human's voice. Frank could see the voice modular built into the mask.

"Oh, Lords. This was a set up wasn't it?" The masked man was mentally preparing another hold spell and getting ready to dispel his first one. This time he would be ready.
He dropped the spell...

Re: Story Thread 1

Frank was ready this time!

As soon as his arm was free he raised it at the caster. His trigger finger was faster than the wizard's sigils, which quickly dissolved to nonsense as the electricity coursed through him.

This fizzled the spell again, and left Him the only one bound as it backfired. Again.

Frank and Terry were released and eft in a standoff with the two men as the man in the coat swore and tried to dispel his fizzled cast.

Re: Story Thread 1

Neither of the masked men seemed particularly threatening as they watched the exchange, comedy had just about doubled over in laughter, voice  higher pitched then was normal. Clutching his own ribs his gun was still pointed safely at the ground.

"Ah hahah!" Comedy was slowly straightening again, adjusting his mask on his face as he was unable to rub his eyes. "Oh man..he's locked in his own spell. Beautiful." Still having fits of giggles he started past the two robbers to look at Mysterioso more properly. "So you two attracted this hero huh? Seems like you have it under control ok."

"Uhhh...yeah?" Terry looked at Tragedy warily. "Uh..you guys here to rob the bank?"

"See's they were overbooked." Replied Tragedy.

Frank shook his head and looked at the outfits the others were wearing, "Voice scrambler, black van, nice shoes. You guys work for somebody. I hope we're not stepping on any toes. Especially because we totally didn't take the thing that they wanted stolen," He buzzed Mysterioso again ruining the counterspell he was casting, "that was what I was TRYING to explain to mister wizard here, But as a professional courtesy, I'm gonna say, that thing is totes magic looking. Probably cursed."

Re: Story Thread 1

"Well he's a hero, not like he can just let you boy's walk off without putting some effort into stopping you." Comedy shrugged as he watched the castor twitch from the second shock with another giggle. "Ease up on the joy buzzer Sunday Funnys, this guy isn't as young as you, might give him a heart attack. He's magic, not empowered."

"You said that thing wasn't dangerous." Terry pouted at Frank.

"Anything that sends the body into spasms like that has the ability to caused heart arrhythmia. Not common, but repeated shocking probably isn't healthy and you already have him glued down."

"You boys make this yourself?" Asked Tragedy, fishing into his jacket for something.

Re: Story Thread 1

Frank took a few calming breaths, nodding, "Okay, I'll stop, even though the frequency should only be effecting the skeletal muscles, I don't want to cause a drop in quality of life."

Mysterioso frowned but simply said, "appreciated."

"But yes, I made this stuff. You need work done? I'm great at less than lethal," Frank had tried this online a few times, but it was difficult to find buyers of contraband super-tech. Well, it was difficult to find buyers who were not cops or wannabe heroes.

Re: Story Thread 1

"Well, our employers are always looking for up and coming talent." Tragedy came up behind Frank, patting a hand on the man's shoulder. "And the pay is certainly more consistent then robbing banks."

Comedy gave the glue a little kick, testing it's strength.

"It only lasts like a couple hours." Terry was rocking back and forth on his heels, nervous energy trying to escape. "Uh...shouldn't we go boss?"

"If you are worried about a signal going out to the cops don't, we cut that hours ago." Comedy waived hand at him to calm the boys down." He turned his back on the Hero and looked Frank and Terry up and down. "I'm impressed you boy's had such success here, this bank is generally pretty safe. That's why they are holding the Cube of Atrox here."

"Yeah? Them seemed to be expecting a robbery today." Terry frowned again and began to scrutinize the pair.

"Oh? Well we might have given them a warning about coming for the box. Something something pageantry, something something Drama. You know the shtick I'm sure. Something has to separate criminals from villains."

Frank looked at his shoulder and frowned. That bit of lint hadn't been there before and he could hear it broadcasting his location to anyone who could listen. He had a breif mental conversation with it.

Hi, You are here!

Yes, hello. Can it be quiet time now?

No. You are here!

Shhhhhhh. Time to sleep.

Ok. You are here!

Frank rolled his eyes and picked up the fleck, the micro transmitter inside letting out a little 'Oh no! (You are here!) before he flicked it off on a wild adventure on the winds.

"I would have preferred a business card to a tracking device." Something is very wrong here. "Rip, I think it's time to go."

"Meta?" Comedy said softly, digging a hand into his jacket and pulling out a small red card and offering it out with two fingers. "Here, no trackers in it, promise. Sorry, I'm the card carrier. Tragedy would just have sent a card along to you boys later."

Terry bristled at the word meta, heart starting to hammer at the thought his friend been caught. "Yeah, sure thing boss."

Shitshitshitshitshit. Shit! Shiiiiiiiiit! What was he going to do now, he really did just out himself.

Quietly frank replied as he took the card, "You pull the universal sign for 'kick me' and suddenly I'm meta?" This card now came with an unspoken threat. It wouldn't do to be exposed, especially if the Biodynamic Research and Tracking group got to him. Almost everybody hated the BRaTs.

"Taxibot; Jump over obstruction, Rip; Disrupt the spell that the mask is casting, I don't want to accidentally give him palsy."

In response to his order the cab unfurled and jumped over the Van, landing car shaped on the other side in the street.

"I suppose we'll see you again, sometime." He turned to tragedy, taking in his measure.

Both Masks looked at the transforming bot.
"...ok, if the tracker being noticed right away didn't give you away as meta, that thing sure as hell does." Tragedy pointed at the hulking robot. "That's a freaking transformer man! People don't just have transformers!"

"Stop him? How?! I can't just glue him!" Comedy was in the way for that. Terry frantically looked back at Mysterioso as a sudden blast of hot wind swept over the group knocking the Hero's hat off his head.

Re: Story Thread 1

The Young Hero Flamin' Yawn slowly descended from the sky, held aloft by jets of fire coming down from his hands and feet, scorching the pavement, "Ah, Ummm... Mysterioso, I think? It seems you are tied up at the moment, have you met your match? I can help light a fire under you."

Frank wined at the puns, and also the fire-hero's presence. This kid was not so good on the 'nonlethal takedowns' part of being a hero.

Frank Turned to Terry, "Ah, is outright surrender okay at this point? I don't want to end up toast."

"Well that's to bad," Yawn said, "because you're... Toast? Shit."

"You should of said 'Would you rather Flambe?' man." Terry scoffed at the youth. "C'mon dude, wasn't one liners a class at school for you?! And he isn't even tied up, he's glued down!" He scrubbed a hand at his ski mask in frustration at his contemporary's failings. He'd of killed to be a media darling like this guy. "And Lighting a fire under him sounds like a threat to his well being rather then an offer to help!"

Comedy sighed darkly as he made a hand motion to Tragedy. "I can't believe I'm about to do this.." He muttered to those around him as he took a step towards the young hero.
"I'd be careful Rip, Flamer here is a known hot head. Not the sort to take constructive criticism well. Make like the hot air balloon you are kid and blow off, the adults are dealing with this."

Tragedy gave Frank and Terry a small pushed to go towards their car.

Re: Story Thread 1

Frank quirked an eyebrow, and then remembered that he was wearing a balaclava, He was out of his league and being shooed off by a professional with an assault rifle. Really he should clear off, but right now he felt like he couldn't just leave these guys here. Maybe in another reality he could have been a hero...

Yawn walked over to Comedy, having a bit of a fit, his thin frame shaking as he blocked out the scene like a director. "Nono, Dude! Don't use up all my fire puns so quick, you gotta space them out through the whole fight. I gotta get mileage out of them, and cooking stuff puns get old fast, you gotta branch out."

He turned to 'rip', "And hey, 'light a fire' works, since I was gonna burn that yellow stuff off his feet and free him."

"I'd prefer you didn't" Mysterioso said, pleasantly surprised that another hero remembered his name, "I don't know how flammable it is."

"DUDE! What do you mean? Are you denying a rescue?"

"I think he's denying a trip to the burn ward." Quipped Comedy.

"Yeeeaah...that stuff is pretty flammable." Terry admitted. "It had to be to do a times dissolve when exposed to light over time. But it comes off with glass cleaner, no residue and everything. It's even non toxic!"
Tragedy gave him another shove to get moving.
Yawn hadn't worked himself up into a tantrum yet.

"Look kid, there's no glory here. No cameras, no media. Head home, there is better ways for you to be spending your time rather then burning off all your calories trying to look cool." He raised one placating hand to the teen as the  other slung his gun onto his back with a strap. "I'm really not into shooting kids. Please, just leave this to the caped hobo over here."

I called them on my cell just now, So i think it's safe to say that this party's just heating up, no matter how steamed you're trying to make me."

Frank was slowly sneaking around the van when a bolt of flame lanced in front of him, setting the hood afire. Yawn shook a burning finger at him, he made the shot without taking his eyes off of Comedy, "Now wait just a hot minute, where do you think you're sneaking off to, stripes? You and your friend aren't going anywhere. Hands up, weapons down."

"Y-you called the Press?!" Comedy faulted at that, suddenly sweating under his mask. "Why didn't you call the cops?!"

"And actually, we finished our robbery, they just got here for theirs." Terry also was sweating at the sight of that fire. Burns hurt like hell. "So really you are only stopping one robbery and then recovering the other. I mean we got outside and to the car and everything, seems fair to say we succeeded right?"

It sounded like Comedy sighed through his nose as he swung his gonna off his shoulder and lowered it to the ground, kneeling to the ground beside Mysterioso.
"Zantra Li Hox Nigme." He toned quietly as he touched a hand to the masked castors hip. All at once Mysterioso felt his fizzled spell straightened out and vanish leaving him free to finally really react.

"Well I wouldn't really call one and a half questions grilling you dude." Terry pouted under his mask. "C'mon, give us some credit we are new at this robbing thing unlike the Suits."

"Rip, you might wanna start surrendering-" Comedy started to warn.

"Nah." Terry shot both of Yawn's hands and then bolted for cover behind the black van.

With his hands covered, he needed to burn off the glue before he could project flame, "Okay, ha-ha. Grilling. Very nice."

The goop was burning with a fierceness when Frank spoke, "Well this has been enlightening..."

Yawn just made a face and srugged, "What? I don't get it."

Frank shook his head, "Oh, you know en..." He shot him with a lancing bolt of electricity, "Lightning? Geddit?"

This blast had been turned up a little farther than "taser". Somewhere under "induced coma" but above "brief unconsciousness."

Yawn hit the cement like a handful of dry spaghetti and Frank ran for the Taxi like his ass was on fire and his hair was catching.

Re: Story Thread 1

"Oh snap! Wait for me!" Terry bolted after Frank, diving in through an open taxi window into the safety of the car-bot.

"...is he dead?" Comedy asked of Tragedy as the other man scooted closer to the teen and prodded him with his gun. "....mm...no? He's still kinda on fire....but...yeah yeah he's breathing. Umm.." He knelt down and flopped the kids arms up above his head as he rolled him onto his side in the recovery position. "...I can't tape his hands when they are on fire like this.."

Comedy made a motion like he was pinching the bridge of his nose. "God damn it and with the press showing up we don't have time to get the stupid box and deal with this..." He stood quickly and moved towards Comedy, pulling his belt off at the same time. "Alright alright, get his legs. We don't have long before he just started spewing fire everywhere. We can't have him setting the bank on fire."
Working together the masked pair began literally hog tying the teen.
"You into this man?" Tragedy asked.
"Shut up dude he's like half my age." Snapped Comedy.
