Khezuul
player, 37 posts Sun 22 May 2016 at 04:43 | Frost Fjord Prologue IC"Maybe we can save the slaves. But I must excuse myself first."
Khezuul excuses himself from the group, looking for the man in question, the sigil knight. The kobold can get away with many social blunders, not that he would care if he knew otherwise. A such, he approaches the knight regardless of his drink or dinner.
"Excuse me, but I understand you are a sigil knight. I have questions about recent heroics."

GM, 82 posts Sun 22 May 2016 at 05:20 | Frost Fjord Prologue ICThe Sigil Knight turns to Khezuul slowly, pitcher in his hand. It dawns on the Kobold that he had seen this man before, at the feast in Frost Fjord. Sir Rorik sits before you, much more alive than you had expected. "You understand correctly... but what are you doing in a place like this? Wouldn't one of your kind be more at home... under a rock or digging some hole?"
That he recognizes Khezuul as a Kobold despite the disguise comes as no surprise, for his job is a monster slayer.
"You do speak the common tongue rather well, though. I'll indulge you for the moment, provided you don't try anything unsavory. If you do, then you'll have to answer the same way countless of your brothers have."
With his, he puts his hand on a sword at his side, which still has dried blood on it.
"What recent heroics do you wish to know of? I've just gathered word from my own brothers, so I might be able to help one such as you."

player, 38 posts Sun 22 May 2016 at 14:22 | Frost Fjord Prologue ICSomehow, the familiar sigil knight unnerved Khezuul. It brought back memories of those fish monsters, and the dried blood did not help.
I wonder if you've heard any news of a dragon slayer. Recently.

GM, 83 posts Sun 22 May 2016 at 16:07 | Frost Fjord Prologue IC"Aye, I do know of some dragonslayers. Ones that may even be linked to you. They're a small group, very close, very dangerous. A few former Sigils that turned on the order to hunt dragons exclusively, believing them to be the largest threat to everyone and everything..."
Sir Rorik begins to tell Khezuul about the group, a party of five warriors that have mastered the art of dragonslaying. Each one has specialized their form to replicate a different chromatic dragon, and each wears armor of the first dragon they killed alone. The knight wearing white armor just earned his. Right now they can be found a few towns down, about a week of travelling.
"Now, how is it you came to escape Frost Fjord? I could have sworn myself and the few I led out were the only survivors, especially with the storm."

player, 39 posts Sun 22 May 2016 at 17:38 | Frost Fjord Prologue ICIt takes moment for the alchemist to process the information. It was not a group, but one person. One that now wears the hide of a dragon.
As for Khezuul, he simply states "Kobolds are very good at surviving, but I've had... help." motioning to the rest of the group.
"About these dragon slayers. What else can you tell me about them? How many are there? And do they frequently travel and fight together?" his interest was not well disguised

I'd stay away from them if I were you. Especially being who... what you are. Now if there's nothing else, this old man would like to drink in peace."
Without waiting for a response, Sir Rorik turns away from Khezuul and drowns himself in cheap ale.
"Oh, I've heard that one of their hired scouts has been heading north, to an old keep. You might get better answers there. But keep your head down, and hood up. Nothing ruins a pint quite like watching a hanging."

player, 40 posts Thu 2 Jun 2016 at 23:00 | Frost Fjord Prologue ICKhezuul's eyes flashed at the words used to describe his former master. Treated as sport. It was an insult he decided not to pursue, lest it be Khezuul's dried blood on the sword next. Aside, he had other trouble to make, and he had the information he needed. Khezuul returns to the side of his traveling group to discuss new plans.
"About these slavers..." he begins letting a bit too much of his intent leak from his words.

player, 47 posts Fri 3 Jun 2016 at 15:55 | Frost Fjord Prologue ICWell, as I said before I can help you with that. Though I would rather avoid any unnecessary conflict in this town. He looks around to his companions, judging their expressions to tell whether they want to help or not. If you really intend to do something about them, I would suggest not killing them. Criminals or not, murder isn't looked on that well. I suggest we incapacitate them and then deal with the slaves. As I stated before, I can put one, maybe two, of them to sleep.

We might want to just observe them for a little while and decide what to do after that. I don't want to rush headlong into a situation that we can't handle. He looks at both of his companions, Any other ideas? I don't know when they will be leaving, it could be today or even tomorrow. Though I doubt that they will stay here for too long.

player, 41 posts Tue 7 Jun 2016 at 16:36 | Frost Fjord Prologue ICKhezuul fumbles about in his personal effects until he finds a cob pipe. He fills it with some assortment of herbs while the group stews on how to handle the slavers.
"We are not the type to be particularly threatening. However, we are quite effective at acting on threats."
He pauses for a moment, blowing smoke from his nostrils.
"I suggest ambush." He says sharply before falling silent again. "We'll need something to cut their chains..."

player, 49 posts Thu 9 Jun 2016 at 04:37 | Frost Fjord Prologue ICAn ambush sounds good. But as to the chains... Harry pauses, lost in thought. He suddenly perks up, having had an idea, I did get a sort of multi-purpose knife from the body of Morgana. perhaps that can be used to remove the chains. And if not that, we can just have the slaves remain in chains while we figure something out.
As for an ambush, we will need to see what their encampment is like before we decide anything. I suggest we head over and take a look and then decide the specifics. With that, Harry begins to pack up his things in preparation for the upcoming activities.

You'd *BETTER* be ready to help Lia when it's time, though."

player, 50 posts Thu 9 Jun 2016 at 20:32 | Frost Fjord Prologue ICI suppose that could work, I do have some manacles and a key to them. We could trade one of the slaves for you, or just sell you, and then we could distract the guards while you help the the slaves escape.
Well we won't get anything done just sitting here talking, lets find them and see what we are dealing with.

player, 42 posts Thu 9 Jun 2016 at 22:47 | Frost Fjord Prologue IC"That's idiotic." the kobold spat.
"We're trading one fighting member for one that might run off at first chance." He made his point through puffs on his pipe.
"I suggest we ambush them while they sleep. Stab any who won't stay down, and take the slaves." It was a very crude plan, and very much like a kobold to suggest it, but kobold methods have proven to be crude and effective.
"I can make a smoke bomb. Maybe we can smoke them out of their camp and take them down one by one."

player, 51 posts Fri 10 Jun 2016 at 07:55 | Frost Fjord Prologue ICI have heard that they are spending the night at an inn with the slaves being kept in the stables guarded by at least one person. We should leave the smoke bomb and possible magic as a last resort. If people find out we did this, regardless of the reason, we won't get off easy.
Harry thinks for a bit, furrowing his brow, We should assume the worst, that there is at least two to three guards around the slaves. We will need to ambush them, incapacitating them as fast and as silently as possible. A sleep spell should knock one of the guards out, and we can deal with the other potential guards quickly. Then we just need to let the slaves out.

player, 43 posts Thu 16 Jun 2016 at 18:12 | Frost Fjord Prologue ICWith the plan set, Khezuul prepares for the worst. He prepares his normal set of bombs, along with a smoke bomb, and a bomb laced with the venomous fangs of the tomb spiders just in case. Despite his co-conspirators' plan of peace, Khezuul had no intention of letting the slavers survive if it came to that.
He waits for his team to get into position.

GM, 86 posts Thu 16 Jun 2016 at 23:03 | Frost Fjord Prologue ICWith all the members of the group in position, it is a simple matter of getting a quick look and Khezuul tossing a smoke bomb into the stables to block all sight. Harry and Khezuul try their best to sneak in, but their plan has a small hitch.
Harry, blinded by the smoke, ends up stumbling over a pitchfork, which knocks over a lantern. What was meant to be a quiet operation is now up in flames, literally, as the spilled oil and straw on the ground ignites rapidly. Devilish figures dance in the fire-lit smoke, and it's impossible to tell which figures are the guards, slaves, or just shadows.
Despite his small stature, Khezuul also stumbles around, making more noise than intended. Loud noises erupt from the center of the smoke, and shouts. Most of the words are just incoherent, but the two of you can make out "Fire," and "Guard them!"
One guard steps out from the smoke, and sees both infiltrators. Drawing a sword, he lurches towards Harry, who is standing dumbfounded at his rotten luck. Horses all around are bucking and braying, while snakes of fire crawl between your legs.
