"It was a losing situation. I wish I'd never taken the position. I should have just started a farm," Shawn said, angry with himself.

"You're a good captain." Difyr said. "Now stop being so hard on yourself before I dose you with something."

Shawn stared at her for a moment. "Yes ma'am," he said simply.

"And your wife doesn't need someone kicking himself." Difyr scolded.

"I know. It's the frustration talking. It's become a damned if you, damned if you don't world out there now."

"More 'damned if you don't' than anything." Difyr said. "I better check on Mr Buckley, two head injuries in two days. He should wear a helmet."

"His family's dangerous," Shawn said with a scowl.

"Yehudit knocked him over and he hit his head... I wish I could get her rages under control." Difyr said.

"She didn't have them before Galina started messing around, did she?"

"They weren't as bad until Galina started messing around. Yehudit always had problems with her temper... I'm afraid she'll do worse than seriously inure someone someday."

"Well I can't say it doesn't surprise me. Look at her mother's temper." Shawn lowered his voice to a whisper. "Truthfully, I don't know that I like Sileas being around her so much. But like I said, she's an adult and it's not up to me who she spends time with."

Difyr was surprised. "Do you think Yehudit could hurt Sileas?"

"Probably not intentionally, but if she goes in one of her rages...I've seen how no one can get through to her. Haroth had told me that at one point when Galina was around, Yehduit and Sileas went at it and he picked them both up bodily to make sure they didn't hurt one another. I know that was partly Galina, but it gives one pause..."

"I've tried giving her the same tea I've given Sileas, it takes too long to work." Difyr said.

"Maybe because it's two very different problems?" Shawn thought for a moment. "I wish I knew more about medicine."

"I do too." Difyr sighed. "I think Ertzel could have come up with something."

"Aalyssa's not been able to do anything for her?"

"Not yet." Difyr shrugged. "I don't know if she can."

"I wonder if anything at all can be done, if it's a trait she inherited.

"But which did she inherit it from?" Difyr asked.

"What if it was both? But even if Lia could, or was willing, to identify those that attacked her, there is no way to know which one fathered Yehudit."

"Mrs Buckley killed them." Difyr said. "Whichever one it was, it's safe to assume he was a violent man."

"Then potentially, Yehudit has a combination of Lia's quick temper and his potential for violence. Wonderful."

"I don't like the idea that Yehudit is like that because of her biological parents." Difyr said.

"Truthfully I don't either, which is why I asked about Galina's influence. I would much rather blame her."
