Re: OOC>

Oh I have no problem watching or seeing it, it's the shoveling, and the lingering icy patches and an apartment complex that won't shovel or clean unless it's a certain amount.

Oh, well, we have methheads here too, I think they're everywhere. My back can't take shoveling, I'm not supposed to lift over 10 lbs.

Unfortunately all are permanent and aside from ibuprofen and the stuff like Ben Gay, not a lot can be done to get it better.

Gosh, I don't even know how long I've been here. Years though.

Re: OOC>

I started in yahoo groups, I tried...PlaybyWeb I think it was called and for a while I was in an over 18 site. Right now this is my only game. It's difficult to find any that fit what I like.

Re: OOC>

Aw, I remember the Y!group Buckley Village- like 13 years ago. Then Y!groups started eating messages and spitting them back out a week later so we came to Rpol. Was it Play By Web? I remember we tried some other RPing site for a while. Then we tried some online message board until that site crashed and we lost a lot of messages forever. Then think it was the Y!group again, then back to Rpol... Then started the second generation of BV. Then GM killer decided to kill everyone...

My first RPG was on The Pet Vine, a spinoff from Ancient Sites, both of which are long gone. Then Y!clubs (which merged with Y!clubs), Egroups until they became Y!groups. Then Rpol.net, some other role playing site similar to rpol.net but wasn't able to organize as well... Some random message boards including a Redwall RPG I really should get back to, there were some good writers there...

But this is my only game right now.

In reply to Yehudit Buckley (msg # 26):

But I wasn't the one who completely dropped and ignored the Ygroups one with the Buckley kids as kids.

I think it was play by web but I think we left there because they didn't keep anything more than 2 weeks I think, so we couldn't go back and reference anything.

My very first game on Ygroups was a Lord of the Rings game. That was Aalyssa's second outing. Everyone else was kids playing kids so all the adult players/characters kind of migrated. I enjoyed it though and managed to fit in...of course, I had Aalyssa's kids too in the game.

Re: OOC>

Groupie? I've not heard of it either. I'm finding most games are focused more on combat and not on story telling, and I like story telling.

Re: OOC>

Old site i used to use before it shut down one day out of the blue.It was mostly a social networking site with a few roleplay groups and almost a few thousand accounts, although there were plenty of fake accounts and not nearly as much options as are here. A few of my friends were trying to find a replacement and i decided to try a couple places out. And now i'm here!:)

Re: OOC>

Well we're certainly happy to have you. Aside from the adult site I no longer I use, I've got to say that no place I've tried has lived up to how this is set up.

Re: OOC>

Sounds like Ancients Sites and the spin off sites... They were before their time in some ways, everyone got their own house to decorate, people could leave messages at your 'house', you could send private messages and instant private messages, you could also send one global message a day (There was rarely more than 20 people on at a time) there were public message boards and groups... It's been gone almost 15 years and I still miss it.

Never heard of that one either. Though in Yoworld on Facebook you can decorate and leave messages for friends.

Re: OOC>

Ancient Sites, The Pet Vine, SciFi Sites, The Book Vine... A bunch of others. Then they decided to change, instead of a bunch of sites just be one big site, The Vines or something like that. Had a completely different format and no one liked it so they left. At least I'm still in touch with a few people from there.

All of those vines/sites are gone now, but I was surprised to find this last night: http://ancientsites.com/ A trace of Ancient Sites.

Snowing here too.
