"He started it!" Yehudit pointed at the guard. "He deserved it too."

Oscar plead innocence. "I were just mindin' me own business wen these mean blackguards robbed me and freatened ter break me 'ands! Struth!"

"Oscar speaks the truth about that. We were walking along and they decided to search Oscar and they threatened to break his hands. Then they decided to insult me and Yehudit jumped in." Sileas blinked. "You look very well for someone who was so injured a short time ago."

Wulfsen jogged over.

"Sileas! Are you all right?" He began gently checking her over for any injuries.

"I'm fine," Sileas replied. "I just don't know what to do about this..." she pointed at the guard's body. "He was being abusive and Yehudit attacked him."

Juniper nodded and raised her wounded arm, showing off her scar and giving it a flex.

" Real lucky enough to find someone who is an expert in such matters."

 She cast her eyes down at the fork filled body and furrowed her brows.

" I think that we have a few more important things than the death of some guard.  You were telling me about the keep and it seems that our presence is needed.  Let us move on before anymore distractions stop us. "

Wulfsen looked at the guard. "I'm loath to throw my power around... but I can make this go away. Especially if he was abusive."

Wulfsen slipper an arm around Sileas as he saw four guards approaching. "I'll take care of this." He promised. He turned to the guards.

"I am Wulfsen Thorblade, son of the king." He spoke with authority and reached into his pocket for the seal, but like his coin it was gone. He pushed on anyways. "These ladies are under my protection. This guard had accosted my fiancee without cause and was abusive towards her. They were defending themselves, he was at fault."

The highest ranking guard look unhappy. "There had been rumors of Joshy and his partner interfering with honest ladies and crippling streetkids."

"Then it's settled, we are needed elsewhere and must go."

Sileas let out a breath of relief. That had been a close one. Yehudit needed to get her temper under control. "Thank you."

Wulfsen slipped an arm around Sileas. "Let's go." He said gently.

"Come along, Oscar. Come on Yehudit." She smiled at Juniper, happy to see her feeling so much better. "It's time to go home.'

Wulfsen blinked. "Oscar?"

"Aye, Oscar. I brought him over this way for some food and then was going to pick up some clothing for him."

Wulfsen looked at the boy. Obviously a streetkid. It looked like Sileas was not wasting any time in adding children to their family. Wulfsen suddenly felt very nervous.

Sileas hugged Oscar close but took care to not hold him too tightly. She sneaked a glance at Wulfsen. She couldn't tell if he was pleased or getting ready to flee on her.

"Oscar is... coming home with us?" Wulfsen tried to sound calm but his voice was pitched higher than usual.

Oscar was scared too- this was the bloke he stole that royal seal from. He looked for an escape route.

"I would like him to. Ultimately it's up to him, but obviously it's not safe here for him." Sileas frowned. "Heaven only knows what these guards have done to the other street kids. Like it's their fault they don't have parents or aren't wanted." Her eyes teared up with the thoughts of what could have happened to them.

Wulfsen had planned on being married before they started their family, he was really not sure if he was ready to be a father. Sweat beaded on his forehead. Wulfsen looked at the boy, he was just skin and bones, clothes were ragged. One of the guards mentioned that the guards accused of abuse were rumored to break streetkids' hands. Wulfsen did not want anything bad to happen to this kid, and bad things happened to streetkids every day.

"Well, I hope he comes home with us." Wulfsen said though he was still nervous about the idea.

"I hope he chooses to as well." Sileas glanced at Oscar. "What do you think?"

Oscar gulped. "Wot'll yer do ter me if I don't?"

"Nothing at all. But I would be terribly sad and wracked with worry about you," Sileas said softly.

"Why worry about me?" Oscar still did not get it.

Sileas knelt in front of him. "I was where you are. When I was little, my mother didn't want me. I stayed on the streets with a gang for the most part until I was seven. That was when she decided to sell me to one of the men she slept with. He abused me and used me like a slave. He kept me chained when he didn't have work for me. Then he sold me." Sileas sighed. "I don't want that life for you."

"Oh." Oscar said, it was still strange to him. "Will there be food?"

"Oh yes. Aunt Aislyn and Brie are running the kitchen. Once the rebuilding is complete, of course every one will have their own houses, but either one of them will make certain that we're fed. I regret I'm not much of a cook. Oh and the treats that Aunt Aislyn bakes!"
