Beyond the Keep - Outside Boville - Cabin in the Woods

Hidden deep in the dense woods surrounding Boville is a cabin. A heavy door with locks, small windows, it's as much a cage as a house. The inside is almost luxurious- a good cook stove with utensils, fine foods, fine wine, fine clothes, comfortable furniture, two fireplaces, one fireplace set behind the large bathtub behind a screen, and a large feather bed.

Jack dismounted, pulling the girl down with him. He let the horse into the corral and dragged the girl into the cabin. He locked the door with a key on a string around his neck, then tucked the key under his tunic. He set to lighting both the fireplaces and setting a cauldron of water over the fire.

"You may bathe as soon as the water is warm." Jack opened a wardrobe, "Wear what you want." He went to the stove and began fixing up something to eat.

Lyssa:
Aalyssa gently held the frail girl up until they were outside and at the stable. She asked for a few men to accompany them, settled Pinja on a horse before climbing up behind her. Making sure she had a good hold on Pinja, they set out on the road to Boville.

Pinja somehow managed to keep from throwing up as she directed Aalyssa off the road and through the woods to the hidden cabin. They had to stop and backtrack a few times but eventually they found it, hidden deep in the woods.

Pinja heard a woman inside scream "Stop!" and practically fell off the horse.

"You have to let the knights do their job now. You have done all you could." Aalyssa glanced over her shoulder when she heard more horses, relieved to see the original group of knights. One of the squires had split off upon finding the cabin and went for them. They too rushed the cabin.

Jack had been dragging the kicking and screaming woman when the door was smashed open and men swarmed in. Jack grabbed a knife from the table and held it to the woman's throat. "Can't you even knock? I'm in the middle of something important."

"Let the girl go!" The head knight ordered, bringing his blade to Jack's neck. Several men notched arrows and had them aimed at him. "NOW!"

Seeing men in various positions to take this man out, the head knight lay his sword down, along with the men next to him. "Now, see, we're willing to talk. Just let her go and we can talk."

The girl had enough. either this crazy man was going to kill her now, or do terrible things to her until she wished he had killed her. She hammer-punched him as hard as she could.

Jack yelped and nearly dropped the knife, he let go of the crazy &$*@#( to grab himself. It looked like their evening was now officially ruined. Even if he could get some ice it was over. The girl was trying to escape so Jack tried to stab her in the back as she ran, but was having trouble keeping up with her.

The scared girl fled the cabin and nearly ran right into Pinja. The girl managed to catch Pinja before she fell, but she recoiled when she saw Pinja's mutilated face. Pinja leaned against the wall and looked at the girl. Had they gotten there in time or was it too late? Pinja could see a bite mark on the girl's shoulder, she looked roughed up and scared, but not shattered.

"Did they stop him before he could... he could force himself on you?" Pinja asked.

The girl was obviously trying to not stare at the scars on Pinja's face. "Er- he was going to but they busted the door open."

Pinja almost smiled. "You were spared that." Pinja felt so weak. She sunk to her knees. I'm dying. Pinja thought. But now I don't think I want to... Why so contrary?

Bruised and bloody, Jack was dragged from Sir Excessive Force and out of the cabin. He was barely conscious as his wrists were tightly bound and hitched to a saddle.

"Run or be dragged. " Sir Excessive Force growled at Jack, swinging a leg over the saddle.

Pinja looked at Jack, she barely recognized him- he was so bloody and her vision was blurred and wouldn't clear.

"I think you're going to die and good riddance if you do. I'm not going to let you hurt me anymore." Pinja realized that all this time she had been refusing to eat, starving herself, she was still letting Jack hurt her. It made her angry. She balled her hands into fists, wrapping her fingers around handfuls of grass. She wanted to hit Jack, kick him, spit on him. But she was too weak to stand.

Damn him anyways, he was going to die, probably soon, and where he was going he would be suffering more than she ever suffered. Things were getting dark but she could see what was about to happen to him, one of the knights was going to drag him behind a horse. Whether he died in the next hour or survived he was in for a world of pain even if Pinja didn't get to spit on him. Maybe when she was stronger she could go to wherever his remains were dumped and spit on that. But Pinja had something better in mind than spitting on him, she was going to live and get stronger and stop hiding in the healer's room. Hadn't she heard something about the keep having a garden? That might be nice to see.

"Jack!" Did Jack turn his head to look at her? It was getting hard to see. "You didn't get to hurt that girl- you were stopped. I helped them stop you. You're never going to do anything like that again. I'm through with you hurting me too. From now on I'm going to live and you will rot whether what passes for a heart in your chest beats or not."

Jack made a pleading sound, he was about to say something, beg, but it was cut off by the sound of horse hooves. The last thing Pinja saw was Jack trying to stay on his feet, clutching the rope as the horse dragged him down the trail.

Pinja smiled weakly, then fainted. She was aware of someone gently lifting her up but she could not tell who, only that it was not Jack or his men so she was safe.
