Millie ran as hard as she could, through the gate of the keep. If anyone was in her way, she would have plowed right over them.

Lek panted to keep up with Millie. He never knew his sister could be so fast!

Millie skidded to a halt inside the hall of the keep. She frantically searched the hall for Lord Thornblade or Master Xavier.

Lek wished they could just call for Papa. He grasped Millie's hand.

"Do you see Lord Thornblade or Master DeVale? Questa, Sileas and Yehudit need help quickly before they are injured!"

"No." Lek shook his head. He was scared.

"Aunt Lia! At least she could go help until we find one of them!" Millie exclaimed. She hurried toward the healing room.

"This way!" Lek panted as he led the way to his cousins.

Without her walking stick, Yehudit lost balance. She sat on the ground and tried to keep out of Sileas's way.

Liadan charged after Lek. She was in the mood to kill someone.

Sileas wished she was a little further back so she could use her arrows. But even taking the slightest moment to nock an arrow would give her opponent the opportunity to attack. It was all she could do to keep the much stronger and larger merman at bay.

Questa jumped on Mazi's back, her shiv going for his throat. Things were getting too dicey to keep him alive.

Mazi's grabbed Questa's wrist, doing his best to keep her from cutting hit throat.

Sileas pulled a dagger from its sheath, it happened to be the one with the jagged edge. She jumped into the fray and slashed at Mazi's hand, attempting to cut it off.

Mazi threw himself onto his back, hoping he could crush Questa and be fast enough to fend off the redhead.

"Questa! Jump off and roll!" Sileas cried out as she followed Mazi down. If they didn't need information to find Uncle Nelek, she would have stabbed him in the chest. Instead, she aimed for his side."

"I'm not lettin' this bastard go! Oi!" Questa ground out, still keeping an arm around Mazi's throat but moving her body to the side so he would not crush her.

"We need to find out where they're holding Uncle Nelek before we kill him." Sileas drew another dagger and placed the point at Mazi's chin.

Liadan heard a struggle. She ran ahead of Lek. She saw Sileas and Questa grappling with a man she recognized. Mazi, the twisted merman who was planning to marry Tala. Liadan pushed SIleas and Questa out of her way so she could sit on Mazi's chest and pound his face with her fist. Aah, it felt so good to hit a merman.

Sileas was startled when she landed on her butt. She took a second to refocus and spotted her aunt. "Aunt Lia! We need the information on where Uncle Nelek is before we kill him." Her blood still hummed with the desire to go after Mazi again.

Liadan said something unintelligible, but it sounded like a string of swears and curses. Mazi's face was turning into a mask of blood.

Unable to understand what her aunt was saying, Sileas jumped back into the fray, the jagged edge of her blade at his throat. "Where is Nelek Gerthrim?"

"Should use that knife on the other end." Liadan said, reaching for Sileas's dagger.

"He defiled my King's wife!" Mazi said, but looked panicked at Liadan's words.

Sileas pressed harder on the blade to the point where she may drop blood. "Tell us where he is!" she snarled angrily. "He defiled no one!" Her glance darted to her aunt. "We will do with him as we please once we know where Uncle Nelek is."
