Aron sighed. "Stop judging people by what they wear and instead how they act. Not every guard is bad and the knights aren't even members of the guard. It's not right to lump everyone together in one group."

"If you had seen how some treated people... How they treated me..." Liadan said nervously.

"But you can't judge a whole group on how some people act. As far as I know, the only person injured by Shawn's men was Jack. And he deserved it. Yes, Questa was injured but that was a citizen and his men tried to stop it. Knights have to live to a different code than the guards do. You're judging them unfairly."

"Those knights seemed happy enough to throw me in a cell." Liadan said.

"Were you acting reasonable?"

Liadan scowled. "They have three momzers down there breathing air our children deserve more."

"We're in a different world now, Lia. There are people who are to carry out justice and people who are not. You are in the second group."

"They weren't carrying out justice. They were giving those momzers free meals when they should have killed them." Liadan said.

"Everything is an argument. I'm tired of arguing."

Liadan scowled. "Let's just go talk to Ais and Brie."

"Fine," Aron said as he entered the keep.

Liadan followed Aron, until she heard a scream. It sounded like Yehudit. Liadan broke into a run towards the sound of the scream.

Aron blinked.

"Oscar!" Wulfsen called as they came out of the gate.

Sileas called out the lad's name as well. She shivered a bit under the cool night's air.

Oscar hid under a bush, trying very hard to be quiet.

"Please come back inside, Oscar. You should be in the warm." Her worry grew.

"I'm bloody well not gonna smell like a girl! Struth!" Oscar shivered.

Sileas paused for a moment. Had she heard Oscar's voice? "Oscar!"

"And no soap! I want me skin ter stay on me! Blimey!" Oscar cursed.

Sileas's shoulders slumped. "He hates me. I'm almost certain he's out here listening but he's determined to not answer."

"I hear him answering you, he's just not coming." Wulfsen said. "It's dark... SHould we try a bribe of some sort?"

"We can try." Sileas thought for a moment. "Oscar? If you come to me, I'll have Mama make you a sandwich."

"Yer said yer were gonna starve me." A sulky exaggeration.

"That is not what I said." Sileas shook her head. "I promise to not use rose petals on you."
