That would be an added bonus should Galina rear her ugly head once more. "Then I guess I will just leave it alone."

"Enjoy." Bai said.

Sileas scowled. This fellow was frustrating, she had no idea on how to get a feel for what he meant nor if he was good or bad.

Bai did not envy Sileas Althea's protection. She was going to be having an interesting life.

Sileas turned to Wulfsen. "So it sounds like I'm going to need a different room for Oscar, Questa and me." It had turned out to not be as private as she had hoped anyway. Could you find us one and have our personal items moved?"

Wulfsen nodded. He was thinking about a couple rooms near his own room.

"Thank you," she said to Wulfsen then turned to Bai. "There. That's taken care of. Oscar will no longer have access."

Bai nodded. "Now you said the woman in the dress shop survived?"

"Yes, she did. She was very badly injured and it took a while to get the will to fight to live back in to her, but she did."

"Why didn't they kill her?" Bai asked. "Did somebody stop them?"

"Hmmm." Sileas thought for a few moments. My cousin Millie never said, she owns the shop and lives there. I wasn't at the shop during the attack. I had gone back after the attack was over to look for Mama and we were hoping to find other survivors, and I heard Pinja crying out from the shop, so I really can't answer the question. She was in such bad shape, I had assumed they left her for dead or to die." Sileas paced a bit turning away from Bai. "The raiders had Mama when we found her."

"They could have killed her but they didn't." Bai grumbled. "What happened to the raiders? Any of them get taken prisoner?"

"When the knights learned they had taken several women prisoner, they tracked them down to rescue the women. Most of the raiders were killed, I know the leader was brought to the dungeon, barely hanging on. I don't know if he still lives or not."

"I need to see him." Bai said.

Sileas suppressed a shudder. She had no desire to face the man who hurt her mother in such a way. "Wulfsen can take you to the dungeon to see if he's still alive."

Wulfsen shook his head. "Jack died."

"Oh." Sileas was glad to hear he was dead and unable to harm another, yet somehow, death felt like too light of a sentence for him.

"Then I need to see that girl." Bai said.

"You can't. She is petrified of men, she won't let any of them near her. The healer actually had to get another room for a  healing room so none would be near her."

"They might have put some kind of curse on her." Bai said.

Sileas sucked in a breath. "I don't know how we'll get you in to see her. Difyr will not even allow you through the door, she won't allow any men in the room."

"I don't think you understand how serious being cursed can be." Bai said.

"It's not that I don't understand." Sileas rubbed her forehead. "I don't know that you understand the fear a woman feels when she has been violated in such ways. It can paralyze you, it's hard to even breathe. Every time a man looks your way, you are fearing what he might do to you. It's more than physically paralyzing, it can paralyze you emotionally. It's a fight to make yourself go on and you don't believe you will ever ever get over it." Sileas sighed. "I'm not the one you need to convince though, it is the healer."

"I know terrible things happened to her. I didn't touch anything in that dress shop but I could sense it." Bai said. "But if she's cursed and nothing is done about it even worse things can happen."

"I can take you to the healer, but I can't promise she'll let you in to see Pinja. She's doing better but still very fragile."
