Aislyn's arms went around him. When the kiss ended, she swatted him lightly. "You naughty man, we have to get down to the hall."

"I must have tripped." Nelek said innocently, standing and offering Aislyn a hand up.

"Mmmhmm," Aislyn  chuckled as she took his hand.

Nelek headed for the door, and then the Hall.

Aislyn walked close beside him, enjoying her first taste of freedom.

Sileas entered the keep through the window to the room her aunt and uncle had been sharing, knowing they were at the main hall. She quickly barred the door and found a corner to sit in. She wrapped her arms around her midsection.

Sileas placed her hand over her abdomen. "I'm sorry baby. I thought we might have a future here. Once everything is quiet, we'll go to the stables and head out for Farthington. Grandmama and Grandpapa will be happy to have us. And they'll support and love us."

Nelek paused outside their door.

"How about I carry you over the threshold?" Nelek asked. He was still rebuilding his strength but he thought he could carry Aislyn as long as he didn't have to carry her too long.

"Why don't we wait and do that when our house is ready? It will have more meaning."

"Ok... can I at least get the door for you?" Nelek asked.

"Of course you may," Aislyn replied.

Nelek grinned. He went to open the door. But the door would not open.

His grin slipped off his face.

"What's wrong, sweetheart?"

"The door is stuck..." Nelek pushed on the door. "I... I think it's barred inside."

Sileas jerked her head up. What were they doing back already? The party should have still been going strong. She got to her feet quickly and scrambled back out the window. Sileas headed toward the stables, most of the men were inside at the party.

In reply to Nelek (msg # 435):

"How can that be? There's no earthly way we could bar the door from the inside wen we left."

"Hey- is someone in there?!" Nelek called through the door.

  Within the room, there was no sound or movement.

Nelek looked to Aislyn. "I don't hear anyone, but someone has to be in there for it to be barred on the inside."

Aislyn nodded and pounded loudly on the door. "I do hope whoever it is is all right."

"It doesn't seem they can answer..." Nelek frowned. "I might be able to get in a window."

"You should be able too. They're not too high off the ground."

Nelek went outside and tried the window. He was able to enter the room easily.

"Hello?" Nelek called, but the room was empty.

Confused, Nelek lifted the bar and opened the door. "No one is here."

"How....odd. Any sign that someone was here? Anything disturbed?" Aislyn looked around, but everything appeared to be how they had left it.

"Do you think someone was playing a prank on us?" Nelek asked.
