What everyone has been doing the past couple of months.

Difyr has been very busy. She has a lot of patients to care for, many pregnant women coming to their time. A lot of preparation for what lays ahead. Every waking moment is full of collecting herbs, drying herbs, rolling bandages, in her dreams Difyr finds herself treating wounded people. She has begun looking a lot older in recent months, thinner, tired and even has a few white strands in her originally black hair.

Cyan is traumatized from losing her family and what she had endured following the raid. But she has given birth to a healthy baby boy. She named him Leofwine after his deceased father and has found comfort in him- she had sacrificed a lot to bring her son into this world. She wishes Coop was there to help raise him, that her parents and in-laws were there to see him grow. She doesn’t get much sleep because of the nightmares, usually only catching a few naps during the day. She stays up all at night weaving by candle light.

Liadan has grown more protective of her children and Aron. She has become extremely paranoid of anyone new entering the keep, not trusting the guards to properly protect them. She has taken to carrying so many weapons she makes a metallic clinking noise when she moves, and has accidentally injured Aron more than once by hugging him and poking him with the various blades on her person.

Wynn has remained sober. He had been spending a lot of time around Xo and finally tried proposing to her, telling her it did not have to be anything big, just a saying of vows in front of a magistrate. Xo turned him down but he still kept sober. He had asked Xo if she would say yes to a big wedding, and she turned him down again. Xo told him that she doesn’t want to marry anyone. Wynn was disappointed but did not push it and he has not brought it up again.

Wulfsen and Sileas chose to not leave the keep for their honeymoon due to what is happening. They have too much responsibility to protect the survivors from the village and family they just can’t leave behind while they go off on a honeymoon. They have vowed to take a proper honeymoon as soon as things settle down and spend what alone time they can up in the Garden Tower.

Lek was at first relieved to learn that Wulfsen and Sileas would not be going on their honeymoon, meaning they would stay at the keep and so would he. He did not want to leave Pinja. But since he was staying away from her because all men made her so uncomfortable Lek was just more frustrated about not being able to help her in any way. Whenever he sees Millie he asks her about how Pinja is doing. Millie’s new assistant Tria has made a few awkward attempts at befriending Lek, but Lek can only think of Pinja and hardly notices her.

Tria is still awkward and strange but she has been doing well as Millie’s apprentice. She catches on quickly and makes few mistakes. Her only problem is her awkwardness in interacting with other people. She does not talk much, even to Milie, when she does talk to Millie it is mostly necessary conversation regarding her work or very awkward questions about Millie’s brother. It is obvious that her grandmother Fortune Calm wants Tria to match with Lek and that Tria is trying to comply but she is so socially awkward Tria’s attempts can be painful to watch whenever Lek comes to Millie’s shop. Tria still wears her bulky cloak at all times, even when indoors and it’s warm.

Nelek has been balancing preparing for war with making up for lost time with his wife and surviving children. He works with Lek and the others at fortifying the wall. He tries to eat every meal with his daughters. He is much healthier than when he was rescued from that island he was imprisoned on. Instead of a scarecrow he has filled out. A lot of his hair is gray now but it’s thick and healthy.

Bai has been researching demons and teaching Sileas magic. He was at first embarrassed that there had not been an open assault from demons after he let the wards down at the wedding of Sileas and Wulfsen, but saved face by insisting that there must be followers of Molech already inside the walls plotting something even worse.

Pinja can’t wait for the pregnancy to be over. She has been eating better but it is still a struggle to eat. She is plagued with nightmares and flashbacks. And she still feels responsible for the raid.

Yehudit is still questioning her motives for everything, still unable to come to terms with being a child of Molech. She doesn’t trust herself and avoids her best friend and everyone else out of fear of hurting them.

Questa is still up to the usual. Stealing anything not nailed down, using foul language around children, making up stories about her lost finger.

Between her lessons with Bai and any alone time she can get when she and Wulfsen sneak over to the tower, Sileas has been training with her weapons and making adjustments as she grows rounder with child. Her mother has managed to get Sileas join her and Olivia at the farmhouse to at least attempt to make baby clothing, diapers and blankets. Sileas misses time with her best friend, but finds almost every moment occupied.

With his father's assistance, Shawn managed to build a farmhouse that they were still trying to furnish. He also helped Wulfsen and the knights with fortifications of the keep to help with defenses. As much as he hates what is going to happen, he'd be lying if he said he didn't enjoy having his parents with him.

Brie, Aislyn and Olivia spent most of their time sewing things that Sileas would need for the babe.

Aron has been organizing the keep staff, and training the staff on serving, cleaning etc., along with many visits to Difyr when Lia managed to poke him with a weapon.

Dyfrig has been getting the kitchen in order and making sure that there are adequate supplies of food to last them through the winter. There's been quite a lot of bottling and pickling going on!

He's also started in on a pet project: writing notes on the recipes that seem to go down well with the castle inhabitants.
