"So you have experience cooking for several hundred people then do you?"

"At least I have experience cooking. The only experience that whore had with a hundred men I won't say because I'm a lady." Mrs Cort said.

"There's no reason she can't learn. Wait. There is a reason. I bunch of hateful bigots. There are a lot of jobs in a kitchen that don't require cooking anyway."

"She can still breathe on the food." Mrs Cort said.

"And you would use meat provided your husband. Everyone in the keep would be ill or dead from the maggots in the meat he cuts," Shawn said. "Seems to me that using meat provided by a low level butcher is much worse."

"There is nothing wrong with my meat! Your clan is just uppity even though it hires whores to cook!" Cort took a swing at Shawn's nose.

Shawn grabbed Cort's wrist and twisted the man's arm behind his back. "Your meat is the poorest grade and you know it. That is why you have been struggling all these years. No one will buy it."

"Let go of my husband!" Mrs Cort aimed a kicked at Shawn's groin.

Brie ran up behind the woman and whacked her in the back of the head with a baking sheet.

"You $(#)! You killed my wife!" Cort roared after his wife hit the floor.

"I highly doubt she is dead. Her head is far too hard," Brie spat. "And besides, she posed a threat to another."

Shawn belted Cort with his free hand. "Don't you EVER speak to my wife that way again!" he roared back.

Mischief managed, Tirto slipped out of the kitchen and headed back to the garden.

Felix ran after him. He kept his eye on the old codger, hoping he would go near some stairs.

In reply to Shawn Spenser (msg # 769):

"Your wife is a whore too! She was with five different men before she tricked you into marrying her!" Cort snarled.

"You are a lying *******," Shawn hissed. "And just why were you keeping tabs on her anyway? Wanted to cheat on your pig of a wife with her?" He was very close to snapping the man's arm in two.

Questa surveyed the scene. One woman lay unconscious on the floor, Shawn held a man. Questa decided it would be easier to take the ears from the guy Shawn was holding first, then get the unconscious woman's ears.

"Right, left or right, isit?" Questa pondered, then pounced on Cort's back, her shiv going for the base of his left ear. "Left! Oi!"

"Questa? What do you think you are doing?" Shawn asked.

"Sileas wants this gits ears." Questa said, slicing away, blood spurting from Cort's head.

Shawn blinked mutely for moment. "What? I think it's more likely she sent you for Wulfsen or Xavier. What in the world would she do with his ears?"

"Trophies. Necklace. Maybe even earrings or an 'at- this bloke 'as big ears." Questa stuff the left ear into her vest and got started on the right.

"Questa, stop. I think she wanted you to get help, not carve up this guy."

"She said she wanted 'is ears, and the chuffin' uvver bastards' ears. But not their noses. I don't remember anyfink said about copping 'elp. Could yer 'old 'is loaf of bread in place, if 'e keeps shakin' 'is head I will cut off 'is nose." Questa tried to grab his right ear but her fingers were slick with blood and she could not keep her grip.

Cort screamed bloody murder, cupping the bloody hole where his left ear used to be. He thrashed, trying to dislodge the dark demon who was after his remaining ear.
